EN TERRENO EN LA PROVINCIA DE ARAUCO Hasta la provincia de Arauco, en la Región del #Biobío, se trasladó la ministra @karlaenaccion para participar en el Gabinete Regional. En la cita participaron el Intendente del Biobío, @sergio.giacamang , los siete alcaldes de la Provincia –(Arauco, Cañete, Tirúa, Contulmo, Curanilahue, Lebu y Los Álamos), además de autoridades regionales, junto con el director Nacional de @conadigob, Ignacio Malig En la instancia los alcaldes plantearon las principales inquietudes de los habitantes de la provincia de Arauco, especialmente en materia indígena. Previamente, la ministra Rubilar tuvo una amplia agenda de actividades entre ellas, la ministra conoció el testimonio de Juan Monsalve Carrero, agricultor del sector El Lingue en Arauco, beneficiario del subsidio de construcción de obras de regadío y o drenaje para indígenas de la Conadi y quien, gracias a esta inyección económica, de más de 3 millones de pesos, pudo satisfacer las necesidades de agua de su familia y entorno. Posteriormente se trasladó al cerro Colo Colo, lugar en el que sostuvo un encuentro con el lonko de la Provincia de Arauco, Ignacio Yaupe, ocasión en la que el alcalde de Arauco destacó el proyecto de restauración del recinto que representa un sitio sagrado para la cultura Mapuche, y que se utiliza como centro religioso y ceremonial. A su vez, sostuvo un diálogo con la Mesa Comunal de Comunidades Indígenas de Arauco con representantes de ocho comunidades mapuche de la comuna, quienes manifestaron sus necesidades en materia de emprendimiento, programas sociales, derechos de agua, técnicas de regadío, entre otras. - @mindesarrollo on Instagram

I thought suicide prevention week was this week but apparently it was last week. But anytime is a good time to bring awareness to this issue. I have been doing this photo series with the @vampirecourtdfw for the Semi Fang Project, a spin off of the semi colon. When a semi colon is used in a sentence, it means that sentence could’ve ended there, but the author chose to continue it. This has been used as a symbol for survival and recovery from suicide and ones affected by it. I lost my boyfriend 7 years ago when he lost his fight against mental illness and took his own life. One of the biggest reasons why he decided to go down that path was because he didn’t have money to afford therapy or proper care. He wanted that when he was lucid, but there was no way for him to have access to it without funds, and his basic health insurance didn’t help when he did have it. He suffered without professional help for about a year before he passed, and I felt helpless watching him go through that, unsure of what more I could do. I comforted him and reassured him and helped him in whatever way I could, but he needed more than what I could offer. I was told to just dump him, that he was a lost cause, that I was being over dramatic and stupid when I took his suicidal threats seriously. Those few people were silent after he took his own life. There hasn’t been a single day where I haven’t thought about him in the past 7 years, and I probably will never stop thinking about him and wishing he was still here. He had so many people and family that wanted to help him, but there was only so much we could do with how the system was and still is. We need healthcare reform and more accessible therapy. We also need to destigmatize mental illness and take it more seriously, not look down on those that need our help the most. Hotlines can only do so much. I urge everyone to work towards these goals, and also do your best to be mindful of your loved ones that might be at risk. Educate yourself now, before it’s too late. I hope that if you have ever contemplated ending your story, I hope you keep writing it. - @triceratopscosplay on Instagram

La Mansión del Salto del Tequendama, como se conocía la estructura, se construyó durante la presidencia de Pedro Nel Ospina (1922-1926).
