I had a very interesting philosophical conversation last night with a friend. We spoke about versions of ourselves and how you come into peoples lives and you only really know that latest version of that person. You never really know or experienced previous versions of what that person was in the past and the amount of evolution that happens not only physical but mentally. . . I’d say that the person in the left picture is someone who most people today wouldn’t even know existed. This picture is from 2014, I was in a fairly rough place in life. I was in the army and I had no serious life goals, I was partying every weekend with my friends and I didn’t really care about health or growth or anything besides living in that moment. . . The second picture is July 2020, this is the latest version of myself. The amount difference between these two pictures is unfathomable. Yes there is a major physical change, but the mental change and the way that I think, act and carry myself is an even bigger change. I know that this won’t be the final version either, there is infinite growth left to achieve. There have been 100’s of versions of the person that I am, and there will be many more. Understand that the person you once were doesn’t define who you will be, you have the ability to make the change every day to become the person you want to be. I got to spend 7 days last week Kayak-fishing at a lake in Maine with Alexa’s family. My spirit calms when I go fishing and last week I got to spend most of my days doing just that. I set a goal for myself to catch enough fish to make dinner one night for the whole group of 9 and we did it!
