REVIEWS BY JORGE: The vast majority of things hyped on social media are poppycock and balderdash. However, one thing that does live up to the hype is Tiger Sauce! It caught my eye at the Bisbee Safeway at the very reasonable price of $3.49. I remembered all of the ads, so I picked it up and took a look. Its ingredients list cayenne pepper, sugar, vinegar, more forms of pepper, tamarind extract, natural flavor from anchovy, cumin, and garlic powder as flavorings. If it werent for such an eclectic list of flavorings, I would have honestly shrugged it off and walked on. It has a distinct aroma, like Louisiana hot sauce with an appealing sweetness. Tasting it, its very interesting. It definitely has the vinegar/cayenne flavor of a Louisiana hot sauce with the sweetness of sweet chili sauce. This is all capped off by a pleasant aromatic experience from the other flavorings. The sweetness tempers off any serious heat, so this is for the flavor and not to blow your mouth away with heat. It is most excellent. Ive tried it with egg foo young (with the standard brown gravy and white rice) and it elevated all of the flavors. Also had it with scrambled eggs this morning and it was pretty good. Since its sweet, it may not work in all applications, but I can see this accompanying American Chinese food, meat, and seafood very well. This is the man that sweet chili sauce WISHES it was and the child that Louisiana Sauce hopes to have one day.
