Follow @lemans24hours TWR-Porsche WSC-95 1997 LeMans champion. A car that almost never happened. Porsche had other focuses, however Reinhold Joest saw potential in this project and funded it personally. Some support in design from Porsche with an old chassis. This chassis needed adapting for an engine from Tom Walkinshaw Racing. This engine was a frankenstein design between Ford-Cosworth HB 3.5L V8 from the Jaguar XJR14 and a classic Porsche flat 6 turbo. This neglected car, with little offical support, went on the win the 24 hours of LeMans two years in a row. - The original inspiration for the 2019 Star Com livery was actually not stock car related at all, it was the 1985 Ligier JS25 livery. I loved how fast & aggressive the angled parallel lines made the car look. I love pulling inspiration from uncommon places!
