Today I am working through some Object Oriented Programming tutorials 📚⠀ ⠀ What is Object Oriented Programming (OOP)?⠀ OOP is a programming paradigm that is built around the idea of objects that contain attributes/properties and methods/functions. OOP can be a little difficult to understand if youre new to programming, but its definitely something Data Scientists should be well versed in.⠀ ⠀ OOP is really popular coding paradigm for a wide variety of reasons:⠀ 🎯 OOP allows for better code re-usability using a mechanism known as inheritance. ⠀ This property allows you to write much fewer lines of code, thereby improving your overall effectiveness & efficiency⠀ ⠀ 🎯 Code is modular, making it much easier to identify bugs and troubleshoot. ⠀ This, again, allows you to be more effective and efficient.⠀ ⠀ 🎯 Code is much easier to maintain, due in large part to its modularity. ⠀ Because of the way code is written using classes and objects, it is very easy for someone to look at your script in the future and see exactly how everything works.⠀ ⠀ 🎯 OOP is very effective for step-by-step problem-solving. ⠀ Building a machine learning pipeline using OOP is really a thing of beauty when you do finally run your model. Model evaluation, optimization, and error analysis are just so much easier.⠀ ⠀ After finishing up these tutorials and building some practice scripts, I am going to build an end-to-end Machine Learning Pipeline using OOP. Im thinking I may want to build a front-end for it too.... but I should worry about that after building the pipeline first 😅⠀ ⠀ What are you all up to today?
