Obszar podkowy to ponad 560ha tafli wody oraz 8 wysp o łącznej powierzchni blisko 6,5ha. 🏝 ⠀ Jezioro znajduje się w Obszarze Chronionego Krajobrazu Pojezierza Olsztyńskiego. 🛶Brzegi są równie bogate co sam kształt jeziora - urozmaicone licznymi półwyspami, w jednych miejscach są wysokie i zalesione, a gdzie indziej łagodne i pokryte trawą. Let’s face it: we live in a world that many times focuses on the negative, on the bad, on the pessimistic. I’m not sure if it’s because there are so many sad, terrible, depressing stories or because our media chooses to focus on them. Or, perhaps more accurately, both. Good and bad both co-exist, both are always present. In any one moment, you always have both. Perspective and how you choose to view the world around you are, in fact, a choice. To adapt to the notion that the glass is half full, that rain is a blessing because it brings us beautiful flowers, that the grass is greener under your own two feet not on the other side of the fence. Choose this perspective, because it is no ones’ choice but your own. Choose to be kind in an unkind world. There are many things, people, and circumstances that will try to bring you down. Tear you down. Shake you. Don’t let them. For anyone who is “trying to bring you down, is beneath you already.” I read this recently, and I couldn’t agree more. What you stand for, believe in and work hard at, you should hold true to, be proud of. So don’t ever let someone take them from you. They are yours alone. They are your own personal gift. Own them. People are created to be loved, and things were created to be used.The reason why world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used. Anyone trying to deter you from your path, from your journey, don’t allow them to veer you off course. You are the captain of your own ship, chart the course for the rest of your life. Follow your dreams. More importantly, pursue your dreams. You are the only one who can make them come true. The mine plan is riddled with oversights, numerous red flags, and cut corners that show that Twin Metals is neither willing nor able to protect the environment or human health. Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Lake Superior, WI Is there such thing as a nemesis photo? If so, this is surely one of mine. I crossed it off the list this week during sunrise on Stockton Island, four years after I initially envisioned this shot. While I’ve photographed this sea stack from ground level many times in both morning and evening light, I’ve wanted to shoot it from on top of the sandstone cliffs, which in this location surrounding the cove are 30’ tall and basically vertical. Access is an issue. As luck (or fate) would have it, several years ago while exploring the cove Andy Matheus and I discovered a knotted rope; it was weathered, moldy, and conveniently hidden behind a boulder along the cliffs. It hung over a 10’ vertical face and then disappeared into the tangled brush above. Naturally, we scaled it. At some point many years ago, someone far more resourceful than I tied that rope around a tree on top of those cliffs and figured out the best route up/down. Absolutely brilliant! (whoever you are, I owe you a beer). In any case, it was well before sunrise when I gave the old rope a couple of solid yanks before entrusting my life to it, took a deep breath, squared up, and climbed the cliff. 10/10 worth the effort. - @poordogphotography on Instagram

Nikkaluokta - En utgångspunkt för vandring av Kungsleden och Kebnekaise I byn finns Nikkaluokta Sarri (den röda byggnaden på bild) som erbjuder stugor att hyra, en restaurang och en liten butik. Här finns också Nikkaluokta kapell som invigdes den 16 augusti 1942 med en fantastisk utsikt över fjällen och byn. Sjön Láddjujávri ligger 5,6 km från Nikkaluokta och erbjuder en spektakulär utsikt över Sveriges högsta berg, Kebnekaise. Här finner du också Enoks som i sommar öppnat Lap Dånalds och Kaffekåtan där det går att njuta av en mumsig renburgare mitt ute i vildmarken. På menyn finns också frasiga våfflor med hjortron och grädde samt nybakade bullar. Öppet dagligen kl. 10:00-16:00 t.o.m. 6/9 Att gå till sjön Láddjujávri passar perfekt för en dagstur. Kyltissä luki 4,5, mutta se tarkoittikin lenkkiä, joka kiertää Paasovaaran kautta takaisin kodalle. Laavu oli piilossa jyrkän kalliorinteen puolivälissä, mutta etsimisen arvoinen. Fill a page or two with your thoughts. Be kind — no bullying yourself. No adding judgements about how you suck because... 👉🏼 What story do you tell yourself about why what you just wrote can’t change? Write for three pages or five minutes without stopping ‘The story that I tell myself in that particular moment of stuckness is…” Try using your non-dominant hand if you run out of things to say. 👉🏼 What’s your source for this story? Think like a newspaper reporter who can’t go to press without your sources being verified. No actual fake news allowed. How will you prove your sources to your editor? What are the facts? 👉🏼 What is one thing you can learn (JUST ONE) or someone you can ask for help to take one (JUST ONE) step forward from where you are now? Your mind will say that one thing or one step is not enough, too small, who cares, so you should just forget about it. But that is just your mind trying to keep you defended from risk. That is what it does. Ignore it with love. 👉🏼 Finally ask yourself: what’s the cost of staying put? Wherever you get stuck in the seasonal round of creating, what’s the cost? Are you willing to keep paying it? If you are, great! If you aren’t, you don’t have to even though parts of you assure you there is nothing to be done. Please know there is. There always is.
