When was the last time you did something selfish? I’ve intentionally had my phone notifications off for the past 9 months, been on private on all social media accounts and had my 2020 year fully booked specifically for self-care. This includes: -phone calls -text messages -notifications -dms -emails -messenger -a fully booked schedule -all types of music -alarms (most of the time) -etc It was my first time ever running my “selfcare experiment” like this. I just felt so compelled to carry this idea out for my own selfish wants & needs. Drowning out ALL external noise was not an easy experiment for me. I was accustomed to living a lifestyle that welcomed external noise because I decided that. Parties. Night life. Events. Social Experiences. Social Media. Opinions. Noise. Now reflecting back on this 9 month long experiment, I’ve learned so many truths (from my perspective). One truth that I experienced was finding peace in silence. Something I’ve literally never been to experience until now. Because of this, I’ve found crystal clear clarity, increased levels of focus, higher intentional power and deeper fulfillment. It was absolutely worth it. Ps. “Those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” I encourage you to run a “selfcare experiment” of your own, whatever form that may be for you.
