Which One You Choose? Cotton Or Linen?. . According to the common belief, dress shirt fabrics are basically made of cotton. Why? Unlike many synthetics, cotton provides a plethora of valuable properties: this fibre is renowned for its softness, superb hygienic properties, and good moisture absorbency. However, in terms of fibre performance, its leadership is questionable — especially if compared with another fabric given to us by nature, which is linen. Cotton fabrics enjoy the highest popularity in the segment of formal shirts. At the same time, when it comes to casual style, linen appears to be a superior fibre by lots of important criteria. First, linen has bactericidal properties which means it is not afraid of bacteria or fungus. Second, linen garments are easier to care for. Unlike cotton, linen fibres get stronger and better cleanable with each washing. The best way to wash them is to select the gentle washing regime and lukewarm water temperature settings in your machine and use a mild detergent to make fibres less prone to damage. Linen fibre is twice as durable as cotton, and four times more durable than wool. Third, linen is a greener option. It requires much less water for growing, while its moisture absorbing capabilities are much higher compared to those of cotton, which means that you can wear linen garments for a longer time. Both points appear to be decent pros for all environmentally-conscious people. As there is nothing ideal in this world, linen has a weakness too, which is its vulnerability to wrinkling. Apparently, thats one of the main reasons why linen is deemed to be a rather impractical match for a business suit. I’ve been fascinated by science since I was a young girl, which has led me to a love for chronobiology. It seeks to understand the cyclical phenomena in organisms and their adaptation to solar and lunar rhythms. These cycles are known as biological rhythms and they impact anatomy, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, behavior, epigenetics, reproduction, and even our planet’s ecology! Basically, everything is affected by cycles and timing is essential for many key biological processes. From sleeping to cellular regeneration and even bacterial activity, its impact on your well-being is enormous. We should all have a basic understanding of the timing of our bodies’ functions, though most rarely do. We usually only hear about the circadian rhythm, describing the solar cycle of one day. There are some cultural reasons behind this cycle being so well-known: the sun, from Greek mythology to modern religion, has always been associated with male power. Due to this patriarchal agenda and the association between the menstrual cycle and lunar rhythms, the menstrual biological rhythm has become culturally devalued to the point where we’re not even taught its proper name. Your menstrual cycle is an infradian rhythm, a cycle longer than a day. Lunar rhythms are actually a separate cycle, and, from a chronobiological standpoint, they typically refer to tidal activity. The fact that our bodies are 80 percent water and women observe a correlation between their infradian rhythm and their lunar cycle means that there might be even more connection there than we have research for currently! Your infradian rhythm is a real, missing piece of your understanding of your biology. We know that living out of sync with your circadian clock can damage your physical and mental health. The same is true if you ignore your monthly cycle. Neglecting this infradian clock exacts a heavy price from your hormonal, physical, and mental well-being. We’ve all learned how to connect with the timing of the world outside. We need to learn to leverage our infradian rhythm and connect with our *inner* timing. Zyklen mit zu kurzen Gelbkörperphasen sind deshalb unfruchtbar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉Wichtig: Eine Gelbkörperschwäche lässt sich nicht am Temperaturniveau der Hochlage erkennen und auch nicht daran, wie deutlich oder schnell der Anstieg ausfällt. Das einzige verlässliche Zeichen ist die Länge der Hochlage, die mindestens 10 Tage dauern sollte - gezählt wird von der ersten höheren Messung bis zum Tag vor der nächsten Periode. Wische einmal nach rechts, um in der #kurvedesmonats zu sehen, wie sich eine Gelbkörperschwäche in der Zykluskurve darstellt. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👉Nochmal wichtig: Auch wenn die Gelbkörperphase grundsätzlich stabiler ist als die Eireifungsphase, können auch besondere Lebensumstände wie zum Beispiel großer Stress oder das Absetzen der Pille kurzzeitig zu verkürzten Gelbkörperphasen führen. Das ist im Einzelfall unproblematisch und bedarf keiner weiteren Abklärung. Treten häufiger verkürzte Hochlagen auf, würde ich empfehlen, den Frauenarzt darauf anzusprechen. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Insgesamt weisen knapp 10% aller Zyklen eine verkürzte Gelbkörperphase auf. Flashback Thursday – is that a thing? #itisnow I shared this on my stories (𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙡) last week and it went nuts. Not only did it resonate with me but it clearly did with you ladies as well. I get asked quite often what is my best piece of advise for someone either starting out in business or knee deep in it and no my answer isn’t; engage, Facebook ads, show your face.. It’s 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙎𝙄𝙎𝙏𝙀𝙉𝘾𝙔 – show up every damn day and do not give up no matter the circumstances. The women you see on the gram that are shining bright in their business didn’t get this far by just posting a pretty picture and hoping for the best. 🖤 They spent countless nights not sleeping because their brain was full off creative juices. 🖤They neglected their kids a little bit more than they’d like to admit to reply to their customers questions that are clearly stated on the website but they value that customer and value that sale so they reply nicely even though those kids are going nuts around them. 🖤They don’t have the luxury of switching off on weekends or 9-5 because their customers are home from their day job and need their attention. 🖤They spend their free time packing orders even though their eyes are hanging out of their head and say no to friend dates because they’d rather make a strangers day by sending their order. Anyway I could go on but the point is..𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙔 𝙉𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍 𝙂𝘼𝙑𝙀 𝙐𝙋! Not when they were tired, not when they received bad feedback, not when someone directly copied their design and not when they didn’t get any sales for months on end. I turn 28 today. That number honestly doesn’t even feel real, to be honest. On paper, I am 28, but my self feels like it’s been reborn over and over again. This year is easy to write off, to joke that 2020 doesn’t count. But if I look back, there were many necessary moments of reflection and growth. ✨Developing patience and acceptance for things I can’t control - but also doing what I can to create a ripple effect. ✨Doing my part to listen, ACTIVELY listen, and move outside my comfort experience bubble. ✨Becoming more in tune with my creative energy, and giving myself grace when I don’t feel like a content-producing machine. Birthdays can feel surreal because you don’t necessarily feel any older, but there is quiet strength in the days that might have gone by unnoticed. Instead of using accomplishments as a measuring tool of this past year, I just want to use today as a moment of peace in a time that feels chaotic to us all. Я стала экспериментировать и сейчас для себя нашла очень хороший способ крепления втирки☺️берите себе на заметку 1. На пропущенный топ без л/с втираем любой пигмент(я обычно это делаю пальцем, спонжиком мне не очень нравится) 2. Убираем излишки пигмента пушистой кисточкой(чтобы не оставалось пигмента, иначе будет скол) 3. Бафим торцы (чтобы втирка не откололась, нам нужно оставить торцы без втирки) после этого снова убираем пыль 4. Наносим праймер на торцы(подождали пока испарится) 5. Покрываем тонким слоем базы (слой должен быть тонкий) 6. Покрываем топом б/л/с Вот так я креплю втирку. I listened to one of Dr. Brené Brown’s podcast episodes on shame this morning, and one of her sentences stuck with me: She posited that you cannot shame somebody into making better decisions for themselves long term. It had me reflect this topic, especially pertaining to recovery, when it comes to owning up to your past, holding yourself (and others if applicable) accountable, and using that discomfort to learn and get it right. I don’t know about you, but when I first came into the recovery space, I definitely did NOT need any more shame being poured over me - there was enough internalized self loathing and white hot shame inside of me that could burn a hole into the chair I was sitting in. And I feel like there can be this misconception that we need to beat someone’s character shortcomings over their head so that they finally “wake up” - and if you’ve looked into shame research, you may know how counterproductive this can be. In my own lived experience, when I felt shamed for my addiction, it had some short term, surface level results, such as being submissive. But it also taught me: 👉🏼 That I was messed up at my core 👉🏼 That I had to be in constant repentance mode 👉🏼 That I had lost the right to self compassion or forgiveness 👉🏼 That I had to hide any struggles or slip ups out of fear for being shamed once again If we rationally understand that shame is at the core of topics like substance use disorder, depression, and codependency (and many more,) why would we think that healing the poison with more poison would be effective? These are just some rainy day thoughts, and I’m certainly not proposing that we coddle or enable - rather, taking it upon ourselves to learn about the difference between shaming and accountability can be the difference between tough but necessary conversations and complete shutdown. Ashlee Pilon knows how important it is to pay it forward. For this fourth-year Nursing student, helping others isn’t just a career goal; it’s a way of life. Currently in the Accelerated Standing Track Nursing Program at Queen’s University, Ashlee dreams of one day becoming a paediatric nurse…and she isn’t waiting until graduation to pursue that goal! She routinely volunteers with members of the Kingston community who have physical and mental disabilities through an organization called Friday Friends – and she recently helped raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network through her membership in the Queen’s University Dance Marathon. Temos que ter responsabilidade na comunicação e desapegar dessas ideias que nem sempre se encaixam na vida real. Isso não prejudica quem entende que no jogo do longo prazo, no final, só sobreviverá quem senta no mocho e treina de verdade. . Mas se me perguntar, atrapalha quem está começando? Atrapalha muito. . Não desanime quem está começando, não critique quem erra, não diga que é fácil, diga que é possível. . Nesse post eu quero te dizer uma verdade. Mantenha-se firme, mantenha-se íntegro. Não se iludam, **não é fácil ser endodontista** e usar frases prontas não dará nenhum salto na endo de vocês, pelo contrário, você apenas será rotulado como mais um profissional mentiroso.
