𓂃◌ 𓏺 【長靴をはいた猫】 𓏺 あるところに粉挽き職人と3人の息子がいました。 粉挽き職人が亡くなってしまったため、息子たちにそれぞれ遺産が分け与えられました。 長男には粉挽き小屋、次男にはロバ、そして三男には猫。 𓏺 どうやって猫で生計を立てていくんだ、と途方に暮れてしまった三男に猫は言いました。 「大丈夫ですよ、私に長靴を与えてくだされば、きっとあなたのお役に立ってみせましょう！」 こうして長靴をはいた猫は出かけて行ったのでした。 ┊ ┊ ┊ まだまだ物語は続くのですが、冒頭の長靴を与えられた場面を描いたのがこちらの絵です。 𓏺 猫はこの後、言葉巧みに百姓や王様に三男を「カラバ侯爵」だと信じ込ませて、見事ハッピーエンドへ導きます。 𓏺 作中に「なぜ長靴が必要だったのか」は直接描かれていないので不思議でしたが、なるほど〜と納得する解説があったので一部をご紹介させていただきます。 ⇩ ────────────── シャルル・ペローが「長靴をはいた猫」を出版したのは、1697年です。革命が起こる前のフランスが舞台で、貴族が絶大な権力をもっていた時代でした。実は本作における「長靴」は「ブーツ」を指していて、当時においてブーツすなわち貴族の象徴だったのです。 𓏺 つまり長靴をはいていれば、百姓であろうと子どもであろうと、そして猫であろうと貴族に見えたということ。 𓏺 長靴をはいた猫は、王様や王女、そして百姓たちにも対等、もしくは上の立場から接しています。王様は猫からの献上物をなんの不思議もなく受け取っていますし、百姓たちも「ここはカラバ侯爵の土地と言え」という猫の命令に従っています。 𓏺 それは本作における長靴をはいた猫が、貴族と同等とみなされていたからに他なりません。どんな者でも長靴さえはけば貴族になり、そして人々は見せかけの権力に簡単に屈してしまう……猫に長靴をはかせることで、シャルル・ペローの貴族社会に対する皮肉を感じることができるのではないでしょうか。 (ホンシェルジュ-sakurasawaさんの紹介より) ────────────── 𓏺 はじめは帽子やマントを身につけた姿を描こうと思っていたのですが、改めて読み直したら次の3点が自分の中の設定となりました。 𓏺 ①粉挽き職人のお家では貴族らしい服を用意できないかもしれない (もし身に付けるとしても、大きめのハンカチやスカーフをマント代わりに巻くくらいかな） ②長靴をはくだけで誰でも貴族に見えるという部分を強調 ③最後に三男と姫が結婚することで猫も貴族の身となるので、立派な服を着るのはそれから 𓏺 ということで、妹からの「何でこの猫裸なの？」という質問の答えは上記の通りとなります(笑) 𓏺 ちなみに私の作品に登場する動物たちは、二足歩行ですが基本的に服を着なくても大丈夫な設定です🐾 オシャレとして気分で服を着ている感じです＾＾ 𓏺 𓏺 ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ #art #illustration #fairytail #アート #イラスト #童話 #長靴をはいた猫 ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ ┈ ༶ - @arisa_shimoda on Instagram

Lately I’ve been trying to evolve and loosen up my style a little more. I took down my website a month and a half ago to redesign - I thought it would take me a week but I ended up hating almost everything about all of my old work.
