It’s blended in the same way as a blended scotch, blending over 100 #whiskeys together aged in #bourbon, #sherry and other barrels to create its flavor. • • On the nose it’s very fruit forward from the sherry right off the bat coupled with vanilla, cocoa, some spice and a faint underlying hint of peat and alcohol. @derekdraws sent me this photo that I mailed to him back in the day. Back in the early era of the Internet I was learning to make websites, I needed new pictures for the Link 80 website. We met at the house @steveborth2 was living at in Berkeley & I forced everyone to take a bunch of photos that I was going to use to redesign the website. It would have been a white website, and on the member page all six members would have stood across the bottom of the page. When you hovered over the member, they’d be holding their instrument, and it would bring up a short bio. This was an outtake, I’m pretty sure there was a more sedate picture of me holding my guitar. I can’t remember why I didn’t go through with the redesign I imagined, but it probably had something to do with the time it took to get the photos back after being developed, a line up change, & thinking the quality of the photos wasn’t good enough (looking at them now, they’re fine). Also, making websites back then was super time consuming, and I was a lot slower at Photoshop. I wanted to process the photos so they looked like high contrast photocopies, back then the best way to create that effect was to just make a photocopy. I wound up making a flyer with these photos for a show at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz that sort of mimicked how I wanted the website to look. It wasn’t made in a computer, I did it cut & paste. - @0mnig0ne on Instagram

Although Teengenerate were forward-thinking and very much in line with the musical trends of the nineties, they chose to integrate older styles into their work as well- with the end result being a unique combination of grunge and first wave punk. Murrmann had gone to see both Teengenerate and the Problematics, who were an Indiana punk group, at the Firseside Bowl venue in Chicago Illinois. In 1956 Marlboro decided for the first time ever to display tattoos in the context of advertising. Originally the idea of advertising executive Leo Burnett, Marlboro strategically used the tattoo as a cultural signifier citing they “wished to show a man who, during some moment-some loose moment got himself tattooed.” The move to feature “tough guys” was cleverly brought in to change the minds of men who thought that “Marlboro was a brand for women” after the company released a cigarette with red filter tip to “hide those tell tale lip stick sales.” The tattooed Marlboro men were replaced in 1962 by the famous Marlboro cowboy which was used in their advertising for years after. My first powerlifting(Bench) meet in 1997 my senior year in high school at 165 lbs ... I benched 250 lbs on a pause. I continued to compete in powerlifting each year & also competed in my first bodybuilding show 3 years later at 21. I’m 25 years in from my first powerlifting meet & 21 years from my first bodybuilding show it’s been a wild ride. I have competed in well over 30 meets,15 shows,13 Covers & 1 Muscle Trifecta later it’s the main reason why I progressed so much. I always had a date I always had to show up & I am still always training for something therefore progress was always present in my career. These events have been major keys to my entire process. This #albumoftheweek is another all around great album from the 1995. True Believers was a success for Phil, unfortunately it would be his last album to be apart of the mainstream CCM scene. Though it was one of Phils biggest successes he said about the album True Believer is really the most unlike me of any album Ive ever done, in my personal opinion. It was more of a manufactured concept: Were gonna make a pop album for you thats going to launch you into the next ten years.I dont know if it did. Its an unusual album to listen to for me, but there are a couple of good songs on there, though. Some of those songs were True Believers, Salvation Army Band and Son of Man. This would be the end of Phils years in the mainstream Christian music market but many great albums were still to come!
