7 years ago today, on September 24 2013, @arcviewgroup CEO, Troy Dayton celebrates with Harborside Health Center CEO and Co-Founder of ArcView, Steve DeAngelo at the largest (at the time) investor pitch meeting that The ArcView Group had ever held. This was an historic day for the cannabis industry, as investors were, for the first time, able to hear pitches from and invest in cannabis companies who dealt directly with the cannabis plant (vs. only dealing with ancillary businesses). Investors were willing to take this historic step due to the release of the “Cole Memo” a month earlier, by the Obama Administration, which gave investors confidence that they could proceed without being prosecuted as conspirators for investing in companies seen to be breaking federal law.
