FERMENTASI LOUIS PASTEUR Seorang profesor dan ahli biologi kelahiran prancis. Tahun 1857 louis pasteur menyangkal teori spontanious generation yang menyatakan makhluk hidup dapat muncul dari benda mati, terjadi secara otomatis dan alami. Artinya sebotol anggur akan menjadi wine secara alami, sesuatu akan muncul dari endapan buah dan kulit anggur yang disimpan didalam botol yang mejyebabkan anggur menjadi wine. Dia meyakini bahwa sebotol anggur bisa menjadi wine karena ada mahkluk asing yang ikut masuk kedalam botol secara tidak sengaja, dan ragi adalah yang bertanggung jawab merubah gula pada anggur menjadi alkohol. Dia juga menyatakan bila anggur terkontaminasi bakteri lain juga menyebabkan wine terasa asam. Studinya tentang kontaminasi ragi pada anggur inilah yang akhirnya menyebabkan louis pastur berfikir bahwa kontaminasi mikroorganisme juga yang menyebabkan penyakit pada hewan dan manusia. 4 de março de 1394, nasce, no Porto, O Infante Dom Henrique de Avis, 1.º duque de Viseu e 1.º senhor da Covilhã. Filho de D. João I, fundador, em Portugal, da dinastia de Avis, e de sua esposa, Dona Filipa de Lencastre. Fez parte da denominada Ínclita Geração, constituída pelos 5 filhos de D. João I que chegaram à idade adulta, notabilizando-se, cada um deles, por um elevado grau de sabedoria mercê da educação que a sua mãe procurou ministrar-lhes. Para além de D. Henrique, que viria a ser o impulsionador dos Descobrimentos portugueses, o viajado e cultíssimo Infante D. Pedro, conhecido, por Príncipe das Sete Partidas que desempenharia o cargo de regente de Afonso V de Portugal. Em 1414, D. Henrique convence o pai a conquistar Ceuta, no norte de África, cidade muito importante para o controlo das rotas comerciais marítimas entre o oceano Atlântico e o levante. A cidade viria a cair nas mãos dos portugueses no ano seguinte, tendo D. Henrique sido armado cavaleiro no local e recebido os títulos de Senhor da Covilhã e duque de Viseu. Em 1416, ser-lhe-ia entregue o governo desta praça-forte africana. Em 1419 D. Henrique já era detentor de uma armada que protegia os interesses de Portugal na navegação do estreito de Gibraltar. O arquipélago da Madeira já seria conhecido dos portugueses desde o século XIV mas a sua posse efetiva só é realizada entre 1419 e 1420, por João Gonçalves Zarco e Tristão Vaz Teixeira, homens de confiança de D. Henrique. A administração das vastas riquezas patrimoniais da Ordem de Cristo, herdeira da Ordem dos Templários, é, em 1420, entregue a D. Henrique que as utiliza no desenvolvimento das artes de navegação e na construção dos navios que seriam usados na exploração do oceano Atlântico. Em 1427, os seus navegadores descobrem as primeiras ilhas dos Açores, na altura desabitadas, que são povoadas por portugueses. O rei D. Duarte I, doa ao seu irmão D. Henrique, o Arquipélago dos Açores. Em 1450, os navegadores portugueses descobrem o arquipélago de Cabo Verde. D. 🍝 Macaroni Eaters! 🍝 Naples began to be associated with macaroni (at this time referring to all pasta) in the 1600s, as it transformed from a food for the wealthy to a cheap street food. The first image is by the leading Neapolitan painter Luca Giordano in 1660. The second, showing beggars (or lazzaroni) is by Domenico Gargiulo in the 17th century 🍝 By the mid-18th century, Neapolitans had taken on the nickname mangiamaccheroni (macaroni eaters). Images abounded of young men and boys with heads tipped back, greedily pouring pasta into their open mouths! It is now in the private collection of the Conseil Investissement Art BNP Paribas but was displayed in the Musée dOrsays 2007 Courbet exhibition. In the 1840s Courbet produced portraits of his friends and clients as well as self-portraits, including Self-Portrait with a Black Dog (1842). He spent time in the Louvre copying works by José de Ribera, Zurbaran, Velasquez and Rembrandt which started to influence his work. He broke from his traditional vertical format for the work. He was attached to Le Désespéré, taking it with him when he went into exile in Switzerland in 1873.
