Hi makers! I thought some of you might be interested in my process for making Shinobus headpiece. Swipe for all the goodies and the description is below. As with all of Shinobus textiles, this piece is self-dyed by spray gun and steamed using @jacquardproducts green label silk dyes. Its the same formulation I used in the reverse applique border of my happi. I sketched a shape I liked which combines elements of several differing manga panels and then digitized it in Hatch. After exporting the digitized shape to my cricut, I ironed on a medium heavyweight stabilizer and cut the pieces which saves a lot of time trimming in the hoop. Since I was doing two pieces per hoop, I had about 16,000 stitches ahead of me and floated two pieces of stabilizer in the hoop. The first thing that was embroidered was a placement line. With my trusty Spray n Bond, I placed the appliqué within the lines and went on to the next step which to used a zigzag to tack down the edges. The next step was to put down the green. I used two close colors to get a blend that had a more organic texture to it. The first pass is a bit sparse and the second pass fills in the gaps. I then moved to the big to tatami (purple). If you look ahead, youll note I actually dod this in several pieces, but to avoid too many tie-ins, I used one big underlay which helps loft the tatami. The tatami was put down in segments meant to give it three dimensions along those vein lines and then I lined it with a black triple backstitch to pop it. A satin border was put around the edge, but I intentionally did not add too much underlay as this mostly exists to give a clean tearaway edge for the stabilizer and it will act as an underlay for when I piece it together back to front and combine it with one hand satin. Finally, I used a blend of Jacquard textile paint and Lumiere to paint black veins in the main body and into the gaps between the tatami segments. 📚 Anatomia do SNA – Simpático e Parassimpático 🧠 O Sistema Nervoso pode ser dividido em somático e visceral. A parte somática conduz impulsos nervosos eferentes para a musculatura esquelética, possibilitando os movimentos voluntários, e impulsos aferentes, originados em receptores periféricos que informam o SNC sobre a sensibilidade somática, como dor, temperatura, pressão, tato e propriocepção. Já o sistema nervoso visceral é responsável pela inervação das vísceras, tais como órgãos internos, glândulas, músculo liso e músculo cardíaco. Essa porção do SN é dividida em uma parte aferente, onde trafegam impulsos originados em visceroceptores, responsáveis por informar sobre as condições das vísceras, e outra parte eferente, a qual regula de forma autônoma a atividade visceral e consiste, portanto, no Sistema Nervoso Autônomo. 🧠 O Sistema Nervoso Autônomo é dividido em simpático e parassimpático, e, geralmente, esses dois componentes atuam de forma antagônica. Anatomicamente, diferente do que se observa na porção somática do SN, em que se utiliza apenas um neurônio, o SNA possui dois neurônios e um gânglio, no qual esses fazem sinapses (Figura 1). O 1° neurônio ou neurônio pré-ganglionar se encontra no SNC, disposto no tronco encefálico ou na medula. O 2° neurônio, ou neurônio pós-ganglionar parte do gânglio para as vísceras. 🧠 A fibra pré-ganglionar do Simpático é curta e a do Parassimpático é longa; já a fibra pós-ganglionar do Simpático é longa e do Parassimpático curta. Dessa maneira, os gânglios desses dois sistemas se encontram, respectivamente, longe das vísceras e perto delas. Além disso, os neurônios pré-ganglionares do Simpático se encontram dispostos na coluna lateral da medula entre os segmentos T1 a L2, logo este sistema é caracterizado como toracolombar. What a wild weekend. The Grand Tetons did not disappoint. I definitely recommend this National Park. The mountains were amazing and the weather was pretty good for the season. We saw lots of wildlife including: a grizzly bear and cubs, moose, fox, a herd of elk, buffalo, and even a beaver. It’s really easy to navigate and not as overwhelming as Yellowstone (but if you have time, it’s right by Yellowstone). As far as specifics, feel free to reach out with questions! I am so sad to say that it seems my favorite beer and fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research Foundation is having some issues. The good news is that it still tastes delicious. The bad news is that it may foam up when you open it and some cans are popping if stored at room temperature. I am personally very sorry for this issue. Please keep these cans refrigerated. Please open with caution. If you are unhappy with your cans or if they have popped, you can bring them to the brewery and we will replace them, or give you a credit. Again, I am very sorry for this issue and it is personally heart-breaking that of all the beers this is happening to it’s this one.
