Per usual, this painting got rolled and unrolled in different locations. I worked in indoor spaces and outdoor spaces. It went fast at first. And then painstakingly slow, thereafter. It was taller at one point but I ripped off the bottom and it evolved into a pano format. I wanted to incorporate red, but something in me wouldn’t let me do it. After a long time weighing our options weve decided to finally leave San Francisco. We’re headed to Berlin, a place Ive loved for ages and have been planning on moving to for a while now. We love SF and California but after 6+ months of being isolated from family/friends, the music industry being hobbled by the pandemic, and having a son thats rapidly approaching two years old, we need more space, more family, and its just become clear that its time for something new. (And for those wondering HOW Im able to do this with the travel ban - having a wife and son who are German citizens definitely helps). Im excited for whats next and all the new opportunities of Berlin, but sad to be leaving all the people and places and art and magic that has kept me here for 13 years. We always imagined growing old here and we still want to. Weve made some lifelong friends here - people who are more family than friends even - and we’re going to miss all of you.
