seven years ago today (26th) it was my first day of maternity leave at Westfield WTC and I decided to meet up with my bestie @its_pk to shop for some things. Keep Me Afloat was a first Jennifer Gold book for me and I loved it. Ms. Gold wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. This is a book about learning to forgive yourself and so much more. You must face and deal with the past to have a better future. This book was very well written, the characters were well developed and believable. The descriptions were very vivid making you feel you are right there in the Pacific Northwest watching the whales and hanging out with the characters. This is a heart-wrenching, tear jerker book that will have you with tears in your eyes. Make sure the tissues are close by. This book told in both the present and the past. The unexpected twists and turns will have you turning the pages and keep you fully engaged. I loved this book and will have to go back and read her book “The Ingredients of Us”. NEOUS x SELFRIDGES / Handbag Launch We were thrilled to once again collaborate with our friends @ NEOUS for the launch of their Women’s Handbag Collection. They asked us to design and produce their Pop-Up Installation @theofficialselfridges Designer Accessories Hall on Monday 7th September. The brief was to treat an existing Table with a creative envelope that translated the systematic arrangement of a repeated shape. Curvature and repetition in design was a key principal in the pleated construction of the Handbag collection and we wanted to incorporate this through the organic fluid lines of the installation which contrasts against the surrounding rectilineal environment - all straight lines and squared angles, the curves soften the installation’s impact and act’s as a creative juxtaposition to it’s location. We also designed the beautiful Handbag stands which were inspired by the beauty of nature and the efficiency of a simple curve and the minimal design language of the Core aesthetic’s of Neous’s Brand’s DNA. The construction of the build was crafted from sustainable materials in line with Selfridges Project Earth initiative which marks a new chapter in Selfridges’ history – the start of a challenging yet essential journey to completely change the way we shop and put sustainability at the heart of everything we do. The Pop-Up will be live for one month in Selfridges Oxford St / Accessories Hall which is located on the East side / Gnd Floor. Uno de los lugares que se han transformado en uno de los favoritos de los santiaguinos es el Parque Bicentenario de la comuna de Vitacura. Ubicado a un costado del río Mapocho, se ubica entre el nudo vial Pérez Zujovic y la calle Isabel Montt, siendo una de las principales áreas verdes de Santiago, con una superficie total de 27 hectáreas que se extiende a lo largo de la ribera oriental del río. Cuenta con alrededor de 4.000 árboles, de los cuales más de 1.300 son especies nativas. Su gran atractivo es la laguna Norte, con ingreso por calle Isabel Montt, donde conviven cisnes de cuello negro, flamencos, taguas, garzas y triles. No sabia que poner y dije pondre algo que debería me gustaría compartir: -El buscar un cuerpo perfecto hace mucho dejo de ser un pensamiento recurrente para mi, si algo he aprendido en instagram es que la perfeccion no existe solo tratamos de crearla, años atras no hubiera subido esta foto u otras fotos que tengo que si por que mis piernas se ven muy delgadas o me veo demasiado delgada o no me veo lo suficientemente delgada o mi cara no sale bien, por comentarios de personas a lo largo de mi desarrollo desde adolescente hasta hace poco siempre tuve un trauma con mis piernas, mi físico que ni se lo imaginan,ahora para mi es me gusta la subo sin criticarme y ver todo minuciosamente. Caras vemos inseguridades no sabemos la psicología para mi fue un mundo increíble de crecimiento personal y sobre todo de aprender a amarme y aceptarme , la vida misma y mi carrera me llevaron por camino bien difícil y en el cual sigo aprendiendo. Hay que ser mas empaticos con los demás , si no te piden tu opinion no opines de un físico que no es el tuyo. На данный момент концепцией предусматривается организация 140 парковочных мест – это количество взято на основании текущей проходимости пляжа, в дальнейшем, при увеличении нагрузки, количество парковочных мест планируется увеличить вдоль ул. академика Касьянова. 2️⃣ Концепция пляжа насыщена объектами инфраструктуры, не будет ли это место слишком перегружено? ✔️ Современный пляж – это разные виды отдыха: спорт, игры для детей, семейный отдых, возможность перекусить в кафе и, конечно, позагорать. Концепция пляжа предполагает создание условий для приятного проведения времени всеми группами населения. При этом все функциональные зоны находятся в пределах существующего пляжа. 3️⃣ Предполагается размещение тренажеров, действительно ли они там нужны? ✔️ Тренажерами и воркаутом люди пользуются на пляжах, особенно если приехали надолго. Также каждый год организовывается реабилитационный палаточный лагерь – и для людей, отдыхающих там, тренажеры очень актуальны. 4️⃣ Затронет ли реконструкция пляжа лагерь виндсерферов? ✔️ Нет, не затронет. Для виндсерферов остается свободная береговая линия. 5️⃣ Почему нельзя оставить пляж в том виде, в котором он есть сейчас? Дикий отдых – это прекрасно. ✔️ На данный момент пляж действительно можно назвать «диким». Сейчас мы наблюдаем там ряд проблем: отсутствие зонирования территории, смешение зон парковки и отдыха, устаревшая инфраструктура, отсутствие комфортного доступа к территории и возможности свободно перемещаться по ней, в том числе для маломобильной группы населения. Благоустройство территории поможет эти проблемы решить. 6️⃣ По генеральному плану кажется, что береговая линия очень узкая, так ли это? ✔️ Это не так, при разработке концепции ширина береговой линии была увеличена относительно существующего пляжа. This flower shop is truly magic, all year round it has THE BEST displays and array of flowers. The flowers themselves come wrapped in this beautiful brown newspaper (which I have kept as I believe it will be a useful prop in due course) and the florists that work there are so kind and friendly. Sadly pablo isn’t looking his cutest but I look cute so soz Pablo you have to suffer. PICKING BLUEBERRIES - it’s been weeks since mama said she would bring us to go blueberry picking.. and we are finally here! Unlike picking 🍓, we don’t need to bend over this time and get squished 😉. Besides of seeing lots of blueberries, we also saw lots of 🐝 and we had to fight them to get to the bigger blueberries. We also saw some 🌻 (that’s why we don’t need to go the sunflower festival no more 😅) and 🐓 running around.. we still haven’t learnt how to say “blueberries” yet and instead we kept saying “mung mung” (pull), “Jak” (pick) and “ball ball” the entire time. The weather continues to be hot, as I practice for En Plein Air Texas, coming up in October, in San Angelo, TX. The hot weather doesn’t bother me, but the humidity is so high, even the Spanish Moss is sweating. The alligators are holding their arms up to air dry and insect wings are too wilted to move.
