Spending the past 2 weeks living on a boat in what was once a massive mid-ocean volcano has been a pretty amazing experience. It’s really tricky to know how to describe Iceland without turning into a hyperbolic mess. It has this ability to make you feel incredibly insignificant which is both terrifying and liberating in equal measure. There is a rawness to this land of ice and fire that fills me with a serene calm and, at times, the total opposite. Knowing that mother nature completely dominates there leaves you feeling a little helpless. The other thing that struck me about Iceland was the absence of people, you can drive for hours and not pass another soul. This image was taken in Vík where the black beaches are endless and the waves are relentless. There is no land between Vík and Antarctica, which means there is nothing stopping the Atlantic rollers until they reach this beach. The Milnerton Lighthouse is situated on Table Bay shore at Milnerton in the Western Cape, South Africa. Its red sector covers Robben Island. Interestingly, this gorgeous coastline from Green Point to Milnerton has wrecked over 150 ships! That’s more ships than any other coastline in South Africa! This led to the building of the Milnerton Lighthouse. The Lighthouse was commissioned on the 10th Of March 1960 and was named in honour of Sir Alfred Milner, Cape Governor 1897-1901.  The beautiful white painted lighthouse stands 21 meters high and has a revolving electric optic producing 800 000 candela, the candela light has a range of 25 nautical miles. The lighthouse is a beacon for ships coming into Table Bay. It’s on Woodbridge Island, accessible by bridge from Marine Drive. Trotz Corona auf Reisen 🛫 in Island 🇮🇸: Urs Dällenbach reiste Mitte August mit uns nach Island und möchte seine Impressionen und Eindrücke mit euch teilen. Herzlichen Dank für das Teilen der Ferienerlebnisse, die schönen Worte (in Anlehnung an Hectors Reise oder die Suche nach dem Glück) und die tollen Bilder aus Island. Glück ist: 1. wenn schon von Anfang an alles gut organisiert ist und ich mit meinen 196 cm sogar perfekt im kleinen Suzuki Platz habe 2. wenn man im Flugzeug von Locals zusätzliche Reisetipps erhält 3. wenn der Reiseplan zulässt, dass man einfach dem schönen Wetter nachfahren kann 4. wenn beim Auto in der Lavawüste die Öllampe blinkt und man per Zufall Öl mit hat 5. wenn man an all diesen Orten praktisch der Einzige ist 6. wenn man im Outdoorpool an der Sonne einschläft und der Isländische Sonnenbrand nur halb so schlimm ist 7. wenn man vor lauter Schönheit weinen kann 8. wenn man am Schluss zur Erkenntnis kommt, dass man eigentlich nicht die Reise nach Island, sondern die Reise zu sich selbst gebucht hat... #island #travelnow #reisefüdle - @kontikireisen on Instagram

Porque no hace falta perder nada ni nadie para darte cuenta de las cosas importantes aunque se hayan empeñado en convencernos de lo contrario. Porque, ni mucho menos, es necesario perderte para saberte y valorarte. Y es que a veces tenemos la mala costumbre de querer a destiempo, valorar a medias, quedarnos en el «casi» y vivir de «ojalás». B L U E 💙 iii/iii. This could be California or Cathedral Cove, Italy or Indonesia. Yet instead, inescapably, it is home. The last six months have passed by in the strangest of blurs. For those of us with restless hearts and wandering souls, we lost little pieces of ourselves with every cancellation email. Our worlds became smaller overnight and the only trip we could take was a stressful run to the supermarket... But the warmth of summer brought with it a momentary reprieve. It brought hope and a small semblance of normality in the shape of beer-garden evenings, picnics in the park, long sticky walks and lunching under parasols. While others braved airports for the first time since March, most of us sought the beauty in our own backyards. We fell in love with road trips again to the barren British coast. The cities whose filth wed come to resent developed a glow long since forgotten. Cosy weekends in the countryside seemed all the more charming, and home became truly where the heart is. This summer was a teacher. In this very moment captured here, I learned that travel doesnt have to mean planes and trains and border crossings. It doesnt have to mean visas, vaccinations, suitcases and phrasebooks. Curiosity is not location-dependent and adventure is simply what we make it; how we create it. 📍MIRADOR DEL RISCO DE FAMARA (EL BOSQUECILLO), LANZAROTE 🇮🇨 . ✔️Para nosotros uno de los 🔝 de Lanzarote . ✔️ Se llega a través de la carretera que une Haria con Teguise (con google maps se llega sin problemas). Puedes subir hasta arriba con el coche (el último tramo es un camino que no está asfaltado) . ✔️Si te gusta el senderimo, hay una ruta de 6 Km desde Haria . ✔️ Tiene una de las vistas más imponentes de la isla, a un lado el Archipielago Chinijo, al otro la playa Famara . ✔️Los más atrevidos podéis llegar a la Cueva de las Cabras. Nosotros no lo hicimos porque nos dio vértigo 😅😅 Os animo a buscar videos en youtube de como llegar a esta cueva😂😂 . ✔️Aunque se llame El Bosquecillo, no hay nada parecido a un bosque😂😂 hay un merendero y columpio ahora cerrado como prevención por la Covid-19 . . Happy Monday Everyone, hope you have a great weekend. Sorry for the lack of posting lately, I think I have already talked about my focusing lately and the multiple projects I’m working on, so it feels like I’m not accomplishing much. Slowly bu steady I’m getting there. At the moment I’m trying to grow my Tik Tok channel on mobile photography as I feel I can give back a lot more and help people take better photos with their phone regardless of the phone they have, but never forgetting my lovely a loyal followers from here. I’m digressing here, today I’m posting my third UK post in a row, this time of the Isle of Staffa in Scotland a place I visited a 3 years ago but still today is one of my favourite places in the UK. I do love volcanic rock formations, their perfect structure seems to be built by aliens and they create this flow of movement that naturally takes your eye and imagination towards the time when the lava hit the sea and created these beautiful geometric shapes. Why is it one of my favourite places? not only because of the unique rock shapes but also for how beautiful the surrounding sea is, a beautiful deep blue colour that is the eye candy of any photographer. Also, let’s not forget about the puffins, these birds look like they’ve been drawn by Disney! they are really cute and perfect. Iceland 🇮🇸 has a very special place waiting for you. Approximately two and a half hours from the capital Reykjavik, you will find Vik. It’s a small southern seaside village with a very distinctive feature: a black sand beach! So, do you want to know what causes the dark sand? Para disfrutar de este paisaje que parece una acuarela, viajamos por dos horas en yate desde el canal de Itabaca. En el trayecto pude disfrutar de las Islas Daphne mayor y menor, que parecen volcanes emergiendo del océano, así como el vuelo de las rayas en el horizonte. Desembarcamos en Bartolomé y recorrimos una de la islas más jóvenes de las Galápagos hasta llegar al mirador, para recibir este premio de la vida, la icónica vista de las Islas Galápagos.
