Pregnancy Update: I’m 14 weeks pregnant now, and officially in the second trimester! My morning sickness has gotten MUCH better, but I do sometimes feel sick still. With Emmett by this point it was completely gone. The bump is starting to make an appearance👉🏼 Although some mornings it’s barely there, it’s weird how it comes and goes for awhile. I think I felt baby move a couple of times in the last few days! I felt Emmett at exactly 18 weeks, which was kind of early considering I had an anterior placenta (in the front) which usually means you won’t feel them till after week 20. They say with your second pregnancy you can feel the baby earlier since you know what to look for, and this time the placenta is posterior which also helps. I hope so because feeling the baby is my favorite and also brings so much peace of mind! I haven’t had any more serious bleeding, just spotting for the last few days. The hematoma is still there and I’m on modified bed rest, which according to my doctor basically means no lifting, no exercise, no walking/standing for long periods of time, etc. I’m feeling a little anxious about everything still but hopeful and excited too😊 We’ll announce the gender in the next couple of days! #14weekspregnant #secondtrimester #subchorionichematoma sweater is from @sezane ❤️ - @annalyncook on Instagram

On this independence day I want us all to acknowledge the beautiful culture and art of Pakistan that is quiet underrated and unappreciated. I want us all to celebrate who we truly are and learn to love our country for everything it has given us🇵🇰 It took me one whole week to draw this truck, symbolizing the artistic side of our Pakistan. ✨ #Copenhagueweek: ¿qué onda el invierno? ✨ Hoy les conté un poco sobre lo que fue la transición de un verano espectacular de 30 grados a puro baltico a un invierno crudo y oscuro. La realidad es que no fue taaan grave y si bien me fui de dinamarca antes de tiempo, puedo contactarlos con las valientes de lograron pasarlo de punta a punta 💪🏼 ¿Qué Onda el invierno? Es la pregunta que más miedo tiene después de entender que con hablar inglés podemos manejarnos sin drama entre las aguas frías de mi amada dinamarca. Les comparto lo que para mi es lo esencial para poder vivir el invierno danés y salir aireoso de esta experiencia: ❄️Tener un grupo de amigos que tengan buena energía y ganas de hacer cosa. La vida sigue aunque sea de noche a las 4pm, y es importante mantener la rutina que tenias, adaptada al frío, obvio. Salir, andar en bici, hacer cosas que te den Alegría. - Un trabajo estable: bajan mucho las hs de trabajo, Asique algo estable te va a permitir ahorrar bien. - La ropa: todo térmico y waterproof (borcegos, remera,calza,buzo) campera larga. Guantes y gorro o bincha para el viento. Un secreto: el protector de lluvia para la mochila y los pantalones. - Vitaminas: yo tuve que tomar. Hablé con mi danesa y me fui a la farmacia. Allá me aconsejaron sobre que complejo necesitaba y las tome durante 1 mes. Los daneses toman vitaminas todo el año por la falta de luz, y cualquier cosa siempre hay que acudir al médico designado para ver que podemos hacer si nos sentimos mal por este cambio tan brusco. - Aprovechen todo lo que hay para hacer en la city entre octubre y enero: Halloween, las ferias, la pista de patinaje, navidad. Todo es una fiesta al aire libre 😍 - Disfruten la experiencia. Puede parecer duro, pero no deja de ser un condimento de la vida en viaje 😉❤️ —— ¿Qué más Queres saber sobre Dinamarca? We are back on the road, and van will be our home for 4-6 weeks. Today was and still is (still driving) a long driving day. Total for today should be about 14 hours of driving. 😬 We stopped and cooked lunch, and stopped to cook our dinner too. On top of that we stopped a lot for “potty” breaks. But I am always amazed at Zoey’s patients and how well she is handling these long drives. Vor einem Jahr war ich auf einem 15-stündigen Flug nach Deutschland. Ich kann nicht glauben, wie schnell die Zeit vergeht. Aber ich bin glücklich und dankbar. Ich dachte, ich würde Kolumbien verlassen, nur um eine Sprache zu lernen und zu reisen, tatsächlich habe ich es getan und ich möchte es weiter tun. Ich habe aber auch eine Familie von einem anderen Planeten gefunden. zwei kleine voller Liebe, Süße und voller Energie WOW ... die man sich nicht vorstellen kann😅. Und mit dieser Familie werde ich immer dankbar sein, dass ich mein Jahr in Deutschland zu einer meiner besten Erfahrungen gemacht und mir so viel beigebracht habe. Ab heute sind sie 735 km entfernt, aber trotzdem werde ich zum Besuch zurück sein, um ihnen zu erschrecken 😅 und mit Emmi und Lili Übernachtungsparty zu machen, bis sie 80 Jahre alt sind. Und um von Pizza, Pasta und Croissants weitere Kilo zu kriegen. Das nächste Mal verspreche ich, die Fenster zumachen und etwas Leckeres zu kochen, haha ​​oder besser, ich bringe Valeria zum Kochen! Ich liebe euch ❤️ Hace un año estaba en un vuelo de 15 horas hacia Alemania. No puedo creer lo rápido que pasa el tiempo. Pero estoy feliz y agradecida. Pensé que salía de Colombia solo a aprender un idioma y a viajar, efectivamente lo hice y quiero seguirlo haciendo. Pero también encontré una familia de otro planeta. dos pequeñas llenas de amor, dulzura y llenas de una energía WAO...que no se alcanzan a imaginar😅. Y con esta familia estaré agradecida siempre por hacer de mi año en Alemania una de mis mejores experiencias y enseñarme tanto .😹 Desde hoy son 735 km de distancia, pero igual . volveré para asustarlos 😅 y para hacer pijamadas con Emmi y Lili hasta que tengan 80 años. Y para subir otros kilos a punta de pizza, pastas y Croissants. La próxima vez prometo cerrar las ventanas y cocinar algo rico haha o mejor pongo a valeria a cocinar! 🧇 THE CUTEST STROOPWAFEL IN AMSTERDAM 🧇 . . . Don’t these waffles look adorable? 😍 If you can believe it, I forgot to try stroopwafel on my first trip to Amsterdam! When we headed back, it was top of my bucket list, and the ones from @vanwonderenstroopwafels were too cute to pass by 😍 . . . Ryan and I both got small stroopwafels, mine with marshmallows and his with crunchy nut pieces. Ryan wasn’t too happy that I made him walk all the way to this canal to take a picture before he could eat it, but he got over it pretty quickly once we tucked in! 😋 . . . This was my favourite lake in Banff but also one of the craziest tourist experiences I’ve ever had. The parking lot is small and fills up quickly so our hotel advised us not to go between 6am - 7pm as cars get turned away once the lot fills up. They told us we should be fine if we arrived before 6am and I saw a few people posting on here to get there 30-40 minutes before sunrise. Sunrise was at 6:50 so we thought we’d be fine arriving before 6am, however when we got to the lake at 5:40 the entire lot was already full!! We ended up parking illegally along with several other cars and running up to take rapid photos but didn’t stay to enjoy the sunrise like everyone else because we we didn’t want our rental car to get towed. I’m scared to see how crazy this lake gets when it’s actually open to tourists... - @courteneymichelle on Instagram

A #tbt for the first day of October but really, a tribute to my sister. Since my dad passed, my little sister has become the rock of our family. It makes me cry to think about the role she has stepped into. Courtney is a police officer, and my dad was so proud of that, since law enforcement was his life. They had that in common together and I’d be lying if I said I don’t envy that connection between them. But it goes way beyond a love of community service. . . Courtney is the one in our small family who has a special relationship with every member of our family. She had a unique relationship with my dad. She has one with my mom. She exclusively has one with my brother. She has one with me. She is everyone in our family’s best friend. . . She is at the center of our family, now more than ever. She makes sure she knows what everyone needs at any given time and then communicates it with the rest of us and gets done whatever needs to be done. . . Courtney is a huge part of continuing my dad’s work now too, since she is the only one in our family who is an active police officer. She’s an authority in our Women’s Empowerment courses, firearms classes, and she even took on the daunting task of organizing a huge SWAT training my dad had planned for the week after he passed. All of my dad’s friends know her, love her, and respect her. But none of this is easy shit. My sister just gets it done anyway. . . She’s a wife, a mom, a power lifter & an athlete, a straight-up badass - and although we all obsess over her physique, her heart is even bigger & stronger than her body. If you’ve had the privilege to be her friend, count yourself lucky. You know. . . She is my go-to and I can’t express in words how much I love her & how thankful I am for her. Now, more than ever, for the role she has taken on with my dad gone. . . Court, I want you to know Dad wants you to know all this. He wanted me to write this to you today. He’s so proud of you. Heres an example that will undoubtedly make me look legit insane: I tend to believe anything is possible, from religion (Im agnostic), to zombies, to ghosts...I just err on the side of not being able to know everything, so anything could be, no matter how unlikely I think it is. ⁣ ⁣ Cut to: me in bed at night as a kid. Mom checks under my bed, in my closet, behind my door - no monsters. But how can I be sure? What if theyre invisible? Grown-ups cant see them? What if they break through my window? What if theyre in the air duct?⁣ ⁣ Cut to: me in bed as an adult. I cant sleep in total darkness. Im the easiest person to jump-scare under any circumstances, and I cant watch anything scary on TV because Im convinced it COULD be real. ⁣ ⁣ Cut to: me as a very young child. My first dream I can remember was that I was shot in the head. I was probably 3 or 4 and that dream has recurred into adulthood. My life has been ruled by fear in so many ways. Eyes watching me from the trees? Why not? It could be. BUT, it has been the single greatest asset Ive possessed in my life. The biological timeline burden. TMI? Never. Somos humanos. . . I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and most of my family and childhood best friends are there. For a while, I had been feeling the social pressures of not having children or being married or even being in a relationship moving in that direction. The pressure isn’t from my southeastern family. They are pretty relaxed about these kinds of things, especially already having a grandkid. Thanks, bro! It’s probably just from having friends who have been married for a while and with multiple children. Or more likely it’s just me putting pressure on myself and nobody else thinks much of it. When I was younger I figured I’d have my first child at the age of 30. Honestly, I’m not interested in that lifestyle for myself quite yet. I also can tell I will not be ready to have children in at least the next few years. Of course, never say never as we never know what the future holds. Cue 2020 ... 🤦🏼‍♀️. But, I feel pretty sure that by the time I have children, if I ever do, I’ll be “diagnosed” medically as having advanced maternal age (34) anyway. After seeing so much in the hospital and people with infertility tragedies, I decided it’d be best to freeze some eggs. I’ve just completed that elusive process. In the past, I had been so worried about not meeting the right person to settle down with in conjunction with my biological timeline. Now I feel I don’t have to worry or search. I have time. I have mixed feelings on things that feel unnatural like freezing eggs, but it was a really good decision for me. If any women are considering it and haven’t had much information about it or maybe it’s now on your radar from reading this, feel free to get in touch. So you want to see the fall colors during golden week in Arizona? You’ll want to save this post!🍂 In early fall every year, Arizonans flock to Flagstaff for the opportunity to get a dose of “golden week”. This is the one-ish week out of the year when the aspen leaves turn from bright green to a deep golden yellow. And while we can’t pinpoint exactly which week will be peak fall foliage, there are a few resources to help you figure it out. My favorite is by checking out the Flagstaff “Leaf-O-Meter” (link in bio) which will tell you exactly what colors you can expect to see in and around Flag. The two most popular areas to see fall foliage in Flagstaff are the Inner Basin Trail and Snowbowl Road. There are many others throughout Arizona but, in this post, I’ll go over these two locations. If you’re up for a moderate to strenuous hike, Inner Basin Trail is my favorite when it comes to seeing the fall colors in Arizona. However, you should know that it gets so crowded here during peak week that rangers post up at the top and the bottom of the narrow gravel mountain road to Lockett Meadow and only allow one car in/one car out when the parking lot is full. People are known to sit in line for hours just to drive up the road! After you park, it’s about a mile incline hike at ~12,000ft just to get to the aspens. Get here early and go on a week day if you don’t want to tough out the crowds. Another popular spot, especially among non-hikers, is Snowbowl Road. Either park along the road near Aspen Corner and take a short walk or purchase a lift ticket to take a beautiful ride on the Grand Canyon Express Chairlift to see the maximum amount of fall foliage. Be aware that lift tickets must be purchased online in advance due to COVID-19. Check out the link in my bio to purchase advance tickets. Masks are required. In any case, I hope this helps anyone who may be interested in seeing some beautiful fall colors! I can’t say for sure but if I were to guess, I’d give it 2-3 weeks before golden week. •E A S E • • We make life a lot harder than it needs to be. We set expectations that can’t be met. We try to control. We try to change people or things that can’t be. We try to do too much at once. We dwell on negative emotions and focus on the what ifs. But what we really need to do is find more ease. More calm. More fun. More letting go. When I picture myself living my best life, I feel free. I feel happy, vibrant, and at EASE. I am not stressed out. I am not constantly busy. Life feels EASY. Don’t get me wrong, often life is the opposite of easy and that’s okay. That’s part of it. But, in our day to day life we CAN make our lives easier, and we can make it a goal to start creating a life that is easier in the long term. Some days we can drop the to do list and just BE. We can reorganize our lives so we have more time and energy to do what we love. 𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 🍪🥣 🟦 = 🇨🇦 ⠀ 🏭 @cinnamontoastcrunch Firstly, Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch is fittingly festive. 🎄 (Just check out the beautiful box art! 🤩🤩) ⠀ The scores of sugar crystals remind me of snow. ❄️ ⠀ These are bolstered by a buttery base and vanilla notes to recreate the sugar cookie experience. ⠀ Because I’m 𝐾𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑛 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑒𝑢𝑟, I ℎ𝑎𝑑 to try both versions at the same time to see if there was any difference. 🤓 ⠀ Hypothesis—Canada (CAN) would be sweeter since per 100g, it has 31g of sugar, while the US has 29g. ⠀ 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟭—𝗗𝗿𝘆 🍪 You’ll notice there are significantly more sugar crystals visible for CAN [📸 3]. ⠀ For the first 90% of each bite, CAN was also slightly sweeter of the two, as predicted. ⠀ However, at the final chew, the US had a sudden sugar rush. 📈 ⠀ 🥊 Round 1 goes to 🇨🇦—I preferred CAN’s consistent sweetness. ⠀ 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟮—𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗸 🍪➕🥛 Most of CAN’s flavour washed away. 🌊 ⠀ Conversely, the US’ flavour was still super strong. 💪 ⠀ 🥊 Round 2 goes to 🇺🇸 ⠀ 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟯—𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗸 🥛 CAN’s end milk was very mild, surprising since the milk absorbed most of its sugary coating. 🤷🏻‍♂️ ⠀ Meanwhile, US’ end milk was still surprisingly strong, despite retaining most of its incredible flavour after being submerged. ⠀ This heavenly liquid was vivaciously vanilla, and the perfect way to top off each brilliant bowl. 🤤 ⠀ 🥊 Round 3 goes to 🇺🇸 ⠀ ​̲𝐖​̲𝐢​̲𝐧​̲𝐧​̲𝐞​̲𝐫 🏅 by K.O. Something many of you should be celebrating because this stuff is delicious!! 😋 SCTC is my all-time holiday favorite holiday cereal. I would be willing to bet it will be yours too if this year will be your first time trying it out. You should see it now though the end of the holiday season on stores shelves. That give you a lot of time to search which is good. I love the new box design. It matches the recently updated Toast Crunch family aesthetic to a tee.
