Enda Bowe’s ‘Love’s Fire Song’, featuring a music composition by Max Cooper, is a contemplative portrait of youth culture in Belfast. The trust put into this video from bea and everyone behind it was crazy, we made it in lockdown when @blackksocks and I lived with bea for a month or so, learning how to shoot on a 16mm Bolex from scratch and shooting, editing and directing ourselves out of my parents house. My brother @_califlower shot the MiniDv whilst my dad acted as all round navigator - building a studio in my kitchen and garden. All stop motion was printed 16mm frames scratched up for days by Bea and I together and then rescanned. Esse foi um daqueles filmes que eu tava muito empolgada com a estreia, coloquei até lembrete no celular e tudo. Todo um evento pra assistir e essa foi minha cara durante todo o filme(😐). Tá, não vou exagerar, não é que é um filme ruim, mas também não é bom. . Tem cenas muito intensas, e sim todas elas envolvem a Lili Reinhart ♥️♥️, mas quando tiram o foco da personagem dela é bem sem graça. Tentam colocar outras histórias no meio, mas não aprofundam o suficiente, fica um negócio muito raso e não acrescenta nada à história principal. E tipo o filme tem 1h20 mais ou menos, eles colocam umas cenas que não fariam falta se não estivessem ali, o que parece é que deixaram de dar detalhes (que eram necessários) sobre os personagens principais para falar sobre personagens secundários. E  poxa, se fosse pra falar sobre esses personagens que fizessem direito, dando mais atenção a eles. Sem falar que os eventos vão acontecendo um atrás do outro sem muito contexto. Até porque, 1h de filme né. . Um ponto positivo: a trilha sonora é muito boa pro filme, faz a gente sentir exatamente o que os personagens estão sentindo. E a filmagem é muito bem feita, dá pra ver que o filme é bem produzido. . Também tem muitas frases e diálogos impactantes que, como fiquei sabendo, vem diretamente do livro. Temos aqui mais um ponto positivo. . É um filme ok de assistir, se você não julgar muito, dá até pra dar umas risadas em algumas - poucas - partes, mas no geral é um filme triste. Então se você não gosta desse tipo de filme, nem vai kkkk . Uma coisa que posso dizer com certeza é que fiquei curiosa pra saber mais sobre a história, provavelmente comprarei o livro em breve. . . . THE GIVERNY DOCUMENT Filmed on location in Harlem, USA and in Claude Monets historic gardens in Giverny, France, THE GIVERNY DOCUMENT is a multi-textured cinematic poem that meditates on the safety and bodily autonomy of Black women. Ja’Tovia Gary (@j_______g_______) is an artist and filmmaker. Gary’s work seeks to liberate the distorted histories through which Black life is often viewed. Through documentary film and experimental video art, Gary charts the ways structures of power shape our perceptions around representation, race, gender, sexuality, and violence. In 2017, Gary was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Filmmaking. Her award-winning films have screened at festivals, cinemas, and institutions worldwide. She has received generous support from Sundance Documentary fund, the Jerome Foundation, Doc Society, among others. She was a 2018-2019 Radcliffe Fellow at Harvard University and a 2019 Creative Capital Awardee. Two years ago I thought I’d hit my emotional rock bottom (didn’t know 2020 would be a thing where that could happen several times in a span of 12 hours) In my turmoil of feeling disassociated I reached out to several friends. They told me the same thing, “I’m here for you, go write about it.” I dove deep into my first experience with discovering I had an anxiety disorder. The shame, the denial, the complicated feelings of not being normal while living a seemingly normal life.
