عشرة أطفال كانوا يلعبون بجوار سكة حديدية.. تسعة منهم اختاروا أن يلعبوا بجوار خط يمر عليه القطار كل فترة، بينما اختار الطفل العاشر اللعب بمفرده بجوار خط مهجور للسكك الحديدية.. وحين لمح عامل السكة الحديد القطار القادم أصابه الهلع خوفاً على حياة الأطفال التسعة، الذين يلعبون على خط السكة، الذى سيمر عليه القطار.. فكَّر الرجل بسرعة، وقرر تحويل مسار القطار ليسير على الخط المهجور، حيث إن هناك طفلاً واحداً فقط يلعب هناك.. فبذلك هو أنقذ حياة التسعة أطفال.. أي أن هذا القرار حقق أقل خسائر ممكنة!! للوهلة الأولى يتبين لنا أن عامل السكك الحديدية قد اختار القرار الصحيح بمنطق الكم.. ولكن حين نفكر بمنطق الكيف سنكتشف أنه قد أخطأ.. فالطفل الذي ضحى به عامل السكة الحديد كان أذكى الأطفال العشرة، لأنه الوحيد الذى فكر واختار القرار الصحيح باللعب فى المنطقة الآمنة.. أما البقية الذين أنقذ العامل حياتهم فهم الأغبياء والمستهترون الذين لم يفكروا بطريقة صحيحة، واختاروا اللعب في منطقة الخطر. ربما يبدو أن هذا التحليل غير منطقي وغير عاطفي لدى البعض... إلا أن هذا هو الفارق الشاسع بين المجتمعات التي تصنع الذكاء والغباء بين أفرادها.. فالمجتمعات الغبية تضحي بالأذكياء والأكفاء.. أما فى المجتمعات الذكية عند الدول المتقدمة فتلهث القيادات وراء العقول، وتنفق عليها؛ لأن الأذكياء والعقلاء والنابهين يقودون المجتمع ويصنعون السعادة حتى للأغبياء أيضاً . الخلاصة :هناك مجتمعات تصنع الذكاء واخرى تصنع الغباء - @qa9m_ on Instagram

Since we’ve had a little snow, and a lot of really cold weather the last week or so, for #throwbackthursday here’s an appropriate winter photo from the late 1950’s. We lived in this trailer in Reading when I was born, until we moved to an apartment in Price Hill when I was 6 years old. Note the TV antenna - no cable or satellite TV back in those days! COSME E DAMIÃO, DOCES, IBEJADA E CARURU: tradição e sincretismo religioso. Nos dias 26 (para os católicos) e 27 de setembro (para candomblecistas e umbandistas), comemoram-se, respectivamente, o Dia de Cosme e Damião e o Dia dos Ibejis. Na tradição católica, a data celebra os santos Cosme e Damião, gêmeos que nasceram e morreram na Ásia Menor por volta do ano 300 d.C. Os irmãos usavam a fé, unida aos conhecimentos científicos, como poder de cura. Como forma de caridade e amor, realizavam tratamentos sem cobrar nada. Às crianças doentes davam balas para amenizar seu sofrimento. Foram perseguidos e degolados, por ordem do imperador romano Deocleciano, que não aceitava a fé cristã. Os santos são reconhecidos pela Igreja Católica como padroeiros dos gêmeos, dos médicos e dos farmacêuticos. No candomblé, os gêmeos são sincretizados com os orixás crianças “Ibejis”, filhos gêmeos (masculino e feminino) dos orixás Xangô e Iansã. São considerados protetores das crianças. Na umbanda, as festividades são marcadas pela participação de espíritos encantados de crianças que amam doces e travessuras. Em todas as tradições, tem-se a distribuição de doces e brinquedos como forma de homenagear ou cumprir promessas feitas às divindades por parte de devotos e simpatizantes. Somado a isso, o povo de santo tem o costume de fazer caruru (uma comida típica da tradição afro-brasileira), chamado também de “Caruru dos Santos” e “Caruru dos sete meninos”. Como toda comida de santo, o caruru tem o intuito de partilhar, com fartura e por meio da fé, a prosperidade, saúde e bonança entre os presentes. Todos os anos, por toda a cidade — mas principalmente no subúrbio carioca —, vemos a criançada nas ruas à espera dos tradicionais saquinhos de doces. Dia de alegria e diversão. An old television set.⁠ ⁠ After numerous cable replacements failed to fix the issue, an investigation discovered that an unnamed Aberhosan resident was unaware their TV would emit a signal that would interfere with the entire village’s broadband infrastructure, BBC reports.⁠ ⁠ Baffled by the continuous lapses in connectivity, the technicians used a monitoring device — also known as a spectrum analyzer — to identify the source of the interference. The device led them to the resident in question, who felt embarrassed for unknowingly causing trouble and immediately promised to never use the set again.⁠ ⁠ So why 7AM, you might be wondering?
