It can be so easy to take the blessings of the Lord for granted, cant it? Things like the air we breathe... until its unbreathable... and then we realize how much we need it and depend on it... literally to sustain us. And sometimes... especially here in the Pacific NW... we can so easily complain about the rain... but just a few days ago when the fires nearby were still raging... we were earnestly praying for rain to come and clean the air so we could go outside and breathe again! 💛 It made me think about how we can be the same way with God. We can take Him for granted... not realizing how much we really need Him... and literally depend on Him for our very existence... until we cannot breathe. There are emotionally charged fires that are raging all around us right now... fueling our fear, our worries, our anxieties... and polluting the hearts of some with hopelessness, depression, hate, anger, and confusion... making it difficult to breathe in this world. 💛 We cry out to other humans... and to governments... for answers... for the much needed rains of change to come and cleanse the air... to fix the endless problems we face... so we can breathe again. And yet... ultimately... where does our help come from? It comes from the Lord... Maker... Creator... Sustainer... of heaven and earth... and you and I. 💛 Sometimes I/we just need a reminder to seek God first... to lift our eyes heavenward... to the hills... and put our hope in Him and not humankind. Read more ( 1 min read) Learn to Rest. It is so important to give your body the rest it deserves. I like to relate to our smartphones, which needs charging every day. Our productivity and performance is directly related to the rest that we get whether in case of physical, emotional and mental work We end up getting exhausted with all the hustle-bustle that we go through Now rest can be of different types: 1. Rest in between work 2. Daily power nap 3. A good night sleep 4. An extended weekend sleep Many people nowadays use the Pomodoro technique where they focus for sometime and then break off for a few minutes. It doesnt need to be a 25:5 session I prefer 90 mins work followed by 15 mins rest cause it allows me to go into the zone and just when I have had enough, it allows me to take 15 mins necessary break. The break needs to be stress-free. Free of phone usage. I prefer just walking inside the house as I have to be in a sitting position for quite sometime. And best is to do nothing. Yes, sometimes doing nothing is the best way to rest yourself. Have a cup of tea or coffee maybe. For the ones who still question the effectiveness, know that our mind works just like our muscles. While working out our muscles, we need to give them rest in intervals. Similarly, an afternoon power nap is the best way to deal with that huge urge of an afternoon slump. A 20 mins power nap is more than enough. With the new work from home schedule now its even possible for many of us. Thirdly, we all should try to get 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Ни один человек никогда не был и не будет для меня образцом для подражания или примером, просто потому что это другой человек в каких-то других, своих собственных, обстоятельствах. Зачем быть новым кем-то, когда можно просто быть самим собой? Я на хую вертел любые примитивные представления об успехе: тачки, бабки, телефоны, грамоты и т.д. Для меня успех — это когда мне по кайфу. Пришел на работу, поработал - кайф. Посмотрел фильму интересную, статью/книжку хорошую прочёл - кайф. Прогулялся вечером любуясь закатами - кайф. В Героев Меча и Магии с пацанами партию расписал в один вечер, — ну кайф же. Для кайфа мне нужны положительные эмоции и ощущение жизни. Такую штуку ни где не купишь сейчас. Я на хую вертел любые ролевые модели хорошей жизни, хорошего секса, хороших вечеринок. Никогда не променяю возможность поорать любимую песню в баллончик освежителя на невероятную тусовку у багажника машины с кальяном. Никогда не откажусь поплясать на кухне в одних тапках под Шакиру в пользу ресторанной танцплощадки с гугнивым мц заводящим выпимшую толпу отплясывают под остопиздевшие хиты Тани Булановой прошлых лет. Ни один турецкий пляж из песков которого судорожно пытаются выдавить хотя бы капельку влажных фантазий о прекрасном отдыхе не заменит мне лютой езды на крыше Нивы по лесным тропинкам в состояни сильнейшей алкогольной интоксикации. Удивительно, что, при таком подходе, я работаю парикмахером. Я не самый общительный, у меня почти не случается историй, которые я бы мог рассказать чтобы с них можно было поорать человеку, который находится вне контекста этих историй. Таких как я эта индустрия обычно пережевывает и выплёвывает, потому что они нахуй ей не нужны, но пока мне по кайфу и ножницы остры, мы ещё поглядим кто кого ) - @madproffsky on Instagram
