So here are two of my fave memes on what #DefundThePolice looks like. Feel free to ask questions in the comments! Defunding the police may sound too “radical” or scary but it’s actually the most meaningful action we can take to ensure that America lives up to its contract of liberty and justice for all. Right now we are investing $100 *BILLION* every year on a policing system that wrongfully arrests innocent people, spends 70% of resources enforcing nonviolent or victimless crimes while gun violence remains rampant. What would crime look like if schools were fully funded, universal healthcare, no homelessness/poverty, etc. What could we remove from the jurisdiction of police so that unarmed and trained mediators respond to non-lethal situations? So what does a world without police or prisons look like?
