Durante lo que va de este año, en Argentina hemos sido testigos del atropellamiento social que es capaz de ejercer el sector de producción extractivista. Por supuesto que cuando se presentan hechos como este, tanto el gobierno municipal, provincial y nacional, como así también los responsables de ejercer el poder judicial, no deben mirar para otro lado, ya que son quienes tienen el deber de cuidar a la población. Contrariamente, este año, confirmamos rotundamente que estas personas son tan responsables como el empresariado ejecutor: no les importa el bienestar popular y arrasan con naturaleza, salud, y vida, sin remordimientos. Es por esto que no nos sorprendimos en estos días cuando nos enteramos que el gobierno nacional planea modificar la Ley de Bosques, para que la misma sea menos restrictiva y así poder continuar arrasando con la mayor cantidad de hectáreas de vida posible. Hace tiempo que, excusándose con la reactivación de la economía, desde estos sectores de poder no dan lugar a discusiones que tienen como objetivo el verdadero cuidado del pueblo, a partir de actividades de generación de dinero federales e integrales, que verdaderamente podrían generar un cambio en el porcentaje de pobreza nacional y en la preservación de la salud pública. A “SEN-1” Look Back. February 2019, along with a group of Artists and DJ’s I was honored and Blessed to go to “Angels Gate” in Tanzania Africa to paint and teach the Street Youth that were living there. Put together by @lnadj_charity and along with @grooveschool , @nicolasdixon , @inkiegraffiti , @wachata07 , @chapteribiza , @phlodavid , @maubaka @kalasinga24 and a few others, we raised money, we painted the new Music & Arts Center as well as this main wall of the compound. The Youth was taught to use different donated Music Studio equipment as well as our art crafts. Shoutout to John, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Charity and all the amazing Volunteers and all the Youth. What an experience. Once in a lifetime. Solitamente postiamo solo foto di bei momenti elbani, oggi vogliamo andare fuori dagli schemi e postare la storia di tre ragazze da un cuore buono e dalla forza di affrontare le situazioni Grazie di cuore ----- Premetto che non scrivo questo post per prendermi ne meriti ne altro,peró dal momento che leggo diversi articoli che elogiano l’arma dei carabinieri per aver “salvato” il cane che un mio amico per sbaglio ha investito, e sottolineo involontariamente...(il cane è sbucato dal fosso degli alzi buttandosi in mezza strada ) rimango un po’ basita... Le nostre amate forze dell ordine, si sono fatte PREGARE e sottolineo pregare per venire a soccorrerci, abbiamo dovuto chiamarli precisamente 3 volte... 3 volte!!! La loro risposta é stata: “se non ci sono civili coinvolti non possiamo intervenire” concludendo che l’unica cosa possibile fosse quella di portare il cane a casa nostra, non essendo comunque noi i padroni. Quindi, dopo le diverse chiamate i carabinieri si sono recati sul posto dell’incidente; a quel punto abbiamo dovuto NOI imbarcarci il cane e portarcelo,è restato con noi fino alla mattina seguente. Nessuno ci ha considerati a dovere; i veterinari in primis, i quali sulla nostra isola purtroppo non offrono un servizio notturno. ( per noi e spero per tutti, ritenuta una cosa impensabile). La mattina dopo, io e le mie amiche ci siamo recate alla polizia municipale, se qualche forza dell’ordine volesse prendersi il merito, opterei molto più per la municipale che ha cercato di aiutarci in tutti i modi possibili.. con i loro aiuto siamo riusciti a rintracciare il padrone del cane, che si è poi preoccupato di chiamare un veterinario. Scriviamo questo post non perché vogliamo essere viste come eroine, salvatrici o cosa.. è solo per informare tutti su quello che è veramente successo... perché l’arma dei carabinieri è stata chiamata subito, ma ci ha anche lasciato in mezzo alla strada con il cane non dico in fin di vita.. ma bene non stava di certo! Quindi lo scopo di questo post è informare TUTTI comprese le pagine elbane che scrivono articoli senza informarsi a dovere... En esta oportunidad, el millonario se encontraba realizando la donación de 150 bolsas de víveres a algunos pobladores de Alto Roma, en la provincia de Ascope, en La Libertad, cuando sorprendió con su anuncio. Con este nuevo centro habitacional, Mubarak espera poder brindarles una mejor calidad de vida no sólo a los habitantes del anexo de Roma, sino a los del cerro El Mirador, en el distrito de Casa Grande. Roma es una localidad ubicada a 44 km de la ciudad de Trujillo, al norte de Lima, la capital del país. En mayo de 2019, las imágenes de un nene de 11 años tirado sobre la calle en plena noche escribiendo en un cuaderno bajo la luz de un farol dio la vuelta al mundo. La familia del pequeño, Víctor Martín Angulo, no podía pagar la factura, por lo que el menor no tuvo más opción que hacer las tareas del colegio en estas condiciones tan precarias. La historia conmovió a Yaqoob Yusuf Ahmed Mubarak, de 31 años. El hombre decidió volar hasta Moche, localidad donde vive el niño, para conocerlo en persona y, después, visitar Cusco y Machu Pichu. Al comprobar la situación de pobreza en la que se encontraba la familia de Víctor, no sólo se comprometió a construirle una nueva casa de dos pisos y ayudar a su madre a emprender en un negocio, sino también a invertir en la escuela en la que el pequeño cursa Primaria. Y allí realizará una nueva sala de computación. Desde entonces, la ligazón del Mubarak con el pueblo peruano se estrechó. Back in April, we launched the Angaza Project, Kakenyas Dreams emergency response to the COVID-19 crisis. Through the Angaza Project, we deliver care packages containing vital supplies including food, feminine hygiene products, study materials, and solar lights and radios for distance learning to each of our students households. It takes $60 to feed 30 children a well nourished big plate of food for one day in Roatan. Roatan may very well be one of the friendliest places in the world. The common phrases “Buenas” or “Mornin” can be heard in the streets at every corner of the island from those living in Roatan and even from travelers. It’s common to be greeted by strangers in Roatan and to become accustomed to this. The culture of “ Buenas” makes Roatan one of the best places to travel and to live. The islanders have lived together biculturally in harmony. “Mornin’ “ is a greeting half of them say and “Buenos” from the other half depending on heritage. I think this is a wonderful practice and it’s not surprising if you consider the fact that Roatan is an interesting collection of different cultures. Though Roatan is not small the communities there are. This creates a level of comfort despite different cultures, colors and contradictions. Next time your traveling in your own area consider taking a lesson from the culture of Buenas and sharing a smile with a stranger or even a “Hello”. Though in western culture it is not common place to greet strangers; maybe embracing that friendlier side of ourselves will provide some comfort and help strengthen local communities during these difficult times. This is a story of hope and resilience. It always reminds us that its never too late to start. 💡💡💡 In 2012, Alimot was enrolled into primary 1 at the age of 14. She had never been to school and she was amongst 114 other children who started school for the first time because we saw a great potential in all of them. Due to her age she was said to be too old to start from nursery or kindergarten but because of how small she looked no one knew she was 14 years so we enrolled her in primary 1 and she moved really quick to primary 3. She had never been to school but she worked really hard with the support of her teachers, our volunteer team and her mentors. In 2018 she graduated as the best student from primary 6 even though she still remained very quiet. She won several prizes in many subjects. Today shes 22 years old and about to begin her JSS3 this September. Shes ever cheerful and very hard working. Shes one of our learners participating in the Virtual Learning Program and our team visited her at her home to monitor her learning. We are so proud of her and we will keep supporting her and thousands of others like her. Meet Shukrat Bibi from Hunza, 85yrs old woman who sits in a small shop situated near Baltit fort among her handmade wares. In 1992 she was awarded the prestigious Presidential Pride of Performance Award for keeping the delicate art of sutti karhai (local hunzai craft) alive in the region. She trained hundreds of women and helped them become financially independent. We met Joshua when he was 2 years old & he couldn’t walk, Joshua was diagnosed with Club foot and After many countless surgeries and doctors visits Joshua is now able to walk. Children abandoned by smugglers gather at a community centre for Ethiopian migrants in Hargeisa, Somaliland. The young boys were strangers to one another but shared the same journey - and the same fears. Lured from their rural homes with the promise of jobs and fortunes in Saudi Arabia, their journey was cut short when their smugglers’ truck had an accident in Somalia. The near-death experience was enough to convince them to stop in Hargeisa where they found refuge in the community centre. Hailing sustainability with handicrafts The village of Gharbhanga Jenasahi in Kendrapara district of Odisha recently saw how the joint efforts of the resident families towards community cleaning and livelihood projects could bring about a stable livelihood option to the locals. Villagers have been facing severe water-related problems and with no source of income, young boys are forced to search for a livelihood elsewhere. Under Goonjs ‘Vaapsi’ initiative, the local community decided to restart bamboo handicraft making and have also opted for other livelihood options like tailoring, plumbing and carpet weaving. As soon as the items (mainly bamboo baskets) are procured by Goonj, they will be added to Goonj’s relief kits. Con pronóstico de lluvia, pero con muchas ganas de salvar vidas, el pasado sábado 15 de febrero celebramos la primera Feria de Adopciones de PAC en este 2020, por invitación de la Embajada Rebirth / Tercer Paraíso Cuba (fb) en la Zona RayoActiva de San Isidro. En nuestra mesa promocional contamos con la presencia de un gran número de voluntarios que respondieron a la convocatoria de llevar animalitos para dar en adopción, pero también de ayudar en todo lo relacionado con el trabajo de divulgación, de educación y de sensibilización que desarrollamos en estas actividades. De esta forma, 28 animalitos (24 perros y 4 gatos) lograron encontrar familia. Agradecemos a todas las personas que llevaron a los animalitos protegidos con el objetivo de encontrar hogar para ellos, así como a las personas que nos visitaron tan solo para adoptar, para unirse a ayudar o para donar. El precompostaje es un proceso donde nuestros desechos orgánicos comenzarán su descomposición fuera de nuestra vermicompostera. La idea es generar que la comida de nuestras lombrices esté más blanda y sea más fácil de digerir. Lo ideal es que se almacene en un contenedor con tapa para evitar moscas y otros insectos. Y ahí juntaremos residuos orgánicos como: cáscaras de papas, de frutas, cáscaras de zanahoria, zapallo, de huevo,etc. ( evitemos cáscaras de ajos, cebollas tomates y cítricos) para que se descompongan como mínimo una semana. No debe ser volteado ni nada, solo aireado de vez en cuando. Cuando ya tenemos nuestro precompostaje listo (1-2 semanas) les damos la comida a nuestras lombrices y adicionamos material seco 🍂 para que no aumente la humedad. Recuerda que hacer este proceso ayudará a que tu compost esté listo en menos tiempo y facilitas la digestión de tus lombrices.
