“My sustainable story was a gradual transition with a lot of ups and downs and a huge learning curve. I am not even the same person I was two years ago. On a train, while traveling through Indonesia, I decided with a fellow traveler friend that I will go home and try incorporating zero-waste habits into my lifestyle. I started documenting my journey on Instagram, which has evolved into a whole new platform now. I saw a lot of people were making conscious lifestyle changes and I had the honor to meet amazing and wonderful humans through this cause. I dove deep into this topic to understand the emerging environmental issues. As it is with anything, once you practice something, you learn more about it. I found out the extreme conditions that our planet is facing at the moment and I realized its not the Earths problem. Its way stronger and it has lived over a million years, but the grave problem is for humans and the upcoming generation. I saw documentaries and learned a lot about climate change, it was revealing and shocking at the same time. I faced a lot of challenges in terms of support. My immediate family does not practice this and even my friends make fun of me. For them, it is something to mock, but people who are actually aware of this, know the gravity of this situation. I realized that I needed to merge the gap between peoples level of satisfaction with their lives and their interaction with the environment so I started teaching Intentional Living where I help people build an intentional lifestyle by becoming in tune with their life and the environment around them. I figured people feel that the planet is not a part of them and thats why doing something as basic as not using a straw makes it an inconvenience. I wanted to create awareness and so I did. HEAVEN FOUND HER HEAVEN! Heaven, aka Maple, is enjoying her best life at her new home. She was only 10 days old when she was first rescued. The only one left from a litter of 4, she was then fostered by her rescuer. She quickly became a celebrity due to her small size, and magnetic cuteness. She was adopted by an expat family with 3 children from the United States, when they met her at an adoption drive and fell in love with her. Due to the uncertainties from COVID-19, the family had to leave India, and were unable to take Heaven with them. Thats when Shravan & Shruti saw Heavens adoption appeal, and fell in love with her beauty. Cuando se enseña, el niño aprende. ¿Nueva normalidad? Ayer tuve una sesión de doblaje para una película bellísima que hice este año. La sesión fue a distancia, yo en mi casa con los equipos que me trajeron hasta mi puerta y con el resto del equipo en sus respectivos hogares. Alguien del equipo dijo: “Toca acostumbrarnos a la nueva normalidad”. A lo que yo respondí: “absolutamente no”. ¿Por qué decimos que esta es la “nueva normalidad”? Porque lo dicen todos los programas de noticias y nuestras celebridades favoritas. Pero... ¿que lo digan en la televisión lo valida inmediatamente? ¿Que sea la frase más popular del momento lo hace algo que quiero vivir? Absolutamente no, repito. •No es normal tenerle miedo a los gérmenes cuando son tan importantes para nosotros. •No es normal distanciarnos de nuestros afectos cuando son pilar fundamental de la salud. •No es normal que nuestros ancianos mueran solos, encerrados “por su protección”, cuando muchos piden a gritos que los dejen salir. •No es normal que los pequeños negocios estén quebrando pero las multinacionales se estén haciendo cada vez más ricas. •No es normal repetir como loritos lo que dicen a nuestro alrededor sin preguntarnos si estamos o no de acuerdo con ello.
