This weekend was @rokcupusa Rok the Rio in Las Vegas. It’s amazing what progression I have made in 1 year since this event last year. Last year it was difficult to be inside the top 30 and crashed in almost every heat. This year I had good pace in practice but when qualifying came we had issues. I qualified 35 out of 46 drivers. In heat 1 I finished 38. In heat 2 I finished 21 moving up 17 positions. In heat 3 I dropped to 28 after having 2 flat tires. Heat 4 was my best heat so far. In a race cut short due to lack of light, I managed to move from 28 to 18, my best result of the weekend. After all the heats we started the final in 23. After a long 25 lap race, I ended up finishing 17, only 0.002 seconds behind 16th. Even though we all know that I dont have a page to post about warships, I wanted to surprise everyone with this picture that I stumbled upon while I was sleuthing the internet for pictures. Dry dock workers and volunteers are seen taking photographs and admiring the gigantic USS Missouri while she lies in Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in January of 2010. At the time, she had been undergoing a 3-month long overhaul that included the addition of a new coat of paint, and an anti-corrosion system, among other small details. Historic Grand Prix, Zandvoort - Masters Historic Formula One Race 2 Cantillon corners Zandvoort double with second Masters Historic Formula One win Despite starting fourth on the reversed grid, Mike Cantillon made no prisoners on his way to a dominant victory in the second Masters Historic Formula One race at Zandvoort. The Williams FW07C driver hit the front on lap 3 before disappearing into the distance. Steve Brooks was on course to take second in his Lotus 81 but a spin while braking for Tarzan corner allowed Marco Werner (Lotus 77) and Mark Hazell (Williams FW08) to claim the remaining spots on the podium. The German passed poleman Hazell on lap 9 before gaining another position with the help of Brooks’ unfortunate spin. Werner and Hazell also took the pre-78 and post-83 class wins respectively. Christophe d’Ansembourg (Brabham BT49C) looked set to take fourth ahead of Brooks but dropped down to eighth with two laps to go. This handed fifth back to Jamie Constable (Shadow DN8), who also lifted second place in the pre-78 class. The Beautiful Eye, 188 Adhesions between the edge of the pupil and the lens capsule are called posterior synechiae. Cataract surgeons hate them because they prevent the pupil from fully dilating. Glaucoma specialists hate them because they are often associated with elevated intraocular pressure. And uveitis specialists? Well, they’re used to them. . Synechiae usually form as a result of inflammation, such as uveitis. The adhesion occurs because of an interaction between inflammatory cells, fibrin, and protein deposition. This patient has extensive clumps of pigment on the anterior lens capsule. . If enough posterior synechiae form, the normal flow of aqueous from the posterior chamber to the anterior chamber is disrupted. The fluid buildup behind the iris causes the iris to bow forward, a condition known as iris bombé. The bowing iris closes the angle and can result in secondary angle closure glaucoma. . Treatment of posterior synechiae includes topical steroids and cycloplegics. Dilating the pupil can prevent adhesion formation and can sometimes break posterior synechiae. Surgical synechialysis may be required for extensive posterior synechiae. . Note: synechia (singular), -ae (plural). This month we celebrate the 8th anniversary of the grand opening of Pacific Biodiesels Hawaii Island refinery. The 2012 milestone event was attended by employees, government representatives, renewable energy advocates and other supporters of locally produced renewable fuel. Company founders Bob and Kelly King were honored to have the late Senator Daniel Inouye speak at the opening. “Let’s not blink this time,” said the Senator, referring to the early development of renewable energy, prompted by the oil crisis in the 1970’s, which died when petroleum prices dropped. Late afternoon practice session for the 2001 Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. My favorite sports picture that I’ve shot by far. I like the lines, the reflection off the grandstands from the low sun, the lone person , lone car and the fact that it looks like it’s in black and white but it’s not. He had a fairly slow start to race but came alive in the last 10 laps overtaking lance stroll and hunting down Albon and Ocon for P5. The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow.. P2 at my Nürburgring 24 Hours debut. Saying that my team mates, my team and myself gave it ALL, is an understatement. Leading this race and managing to pull a gap during my final double stint was an incredible feeling. In the end we came incredibly close to the perfect result but we can all be very proud with what we’ve achieved. Following the launch of the Virtual Pipeline System (VPS) solution via the Regasification Terminal (RGT) in Pengerang, Johor, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) now becomes the first LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) solution provider using road trucks for off-grid customers in Peninsular Malaysia. Through the VPS solution, PDB now has the capability to deliver LNG using trucks fitted with cryogenic tanks, providing industries within Peninsular Malaysia that are not connected to the natural gas infrastructure with access to cleaner energy. Commenting on the milestone, Azrul Osman Rani, PDB’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer said, “We are excited to be the first LNG solution provider for industries in Peninsular Malaysia.
