We have chosen to cover the Pangolin within our foundation as it is the most trafficked animal on this planet. Itβs included on the IUCNβs Red List of Threatened Species, as well as featuring as a schedule I species under the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972 (WPA) of India. When David Attenborough was asked which animals he would save, his number one animal was the beautiful Pangolin as it is an incredibly special mammal. It is the only mammal with scales, it is absolutely harmless and incredibly rare. Unfortunately there is such little information available on the pangolin, so we are making it part of our mission to research and understand the Pangolin better, including itβs behaviour and ecosystem. There is no populations count or consensus made on pangolins so far, and it is our dream to realise this research in India. We are working closely with the Goa Forest Department as well as the West Bengal Forest Department to understand the ecology and conservation status of this mammal.
