Whats crazy is, the pain that comes with birth is actually selected FOR in humans because the pain is directly associated with the size of the head of the offspring. And so since women tend to select for smarter men, and smarter men produce children with bigger heads earlier in life... It doesnt seem like this problem is going away anytime soon. Luckily we have anesthetics BUT we also have EVOLUTION... Or in this case ADAPTATION. Some moms out there are lucky enough to inherit this mutation which makes the birthing process virtually painless WHATS EVEN MORE INTERESTING, is that compared to other variants in pain associated genes (I have a whole post or video I want to make about that) this mutation doesnt seem to come with any negative side effect. Most pain-resistant genes lead to early death because pain is actually required to alert the body about issues. Some mutants can go days without realizing they have an open wound or burn and by then it could be infected. THIS MUTATION only really seems to affect labor pain. Thats pretty cool! Give enough time, it could be part of the greater gene pool. Just to elaborate on yesterdays post, diagnostically I test EVERYTHING before I make a statement. Nothing is ever an opinion with me without something to back it up. Many people will make statements off of testing meant to prove a marketing point. I go beyond the marketing. In this case a client came to me with heavy hyperpigmentation and melasma. We photographed her skin when she lived in NY and she proceeded to drink an antioxidant formulation and use an olay product topically twice a week. Then she moved to California and became heavily exposed to the sun. In her after photo she broke up a massive amount of sun damage and melasma. In fact, on top of the skin her melasma was gone. This is what remained in her dermis below, which will still take more time to repair. Moral of the story is fortify your cells with nutrients. Drinking on the beach is going to cause glycation/collagen to break down. Beautiful skin especially after age 35 is a catch 22. You have to begin by feeding your skin minerals, essential fats, foods rich in antioxidants, and step away from the processed crap leaving your cells vulnerable. It didnt take laser or chemical peels to achieve results. If she had done those thing then she would have had to forever avoid the sun in those areas because the skin has become compromised. Thats why I like microneedling. As was customary in those days, her corpse was put on display in the Paris mortuary, in the hope that someone might recognize her and claim her body. The pathologist on duty became entranced by the girl with the enigmatic half-smile, and so he commissioned a plaster cast made of her face. This mask was replicated many times over. She became known as LInconnue de la Seine,” or “The Unknown Woman of the Seine.” . In 1955, a toymaker named Asmund Laerdal created what we now know as the CPR doll. Asmund wanted his mannequin to have a natural appearance. Remembering a mask on the wall of his grandparents house many years earlier, he decided that the LInconnue de la Seine would become the face of Resusci Anne. So you see, this anonymous woman who drowned in the 19th century is responsible for saving many, many lives the world over. It is said that she has the most kissed face of all time.
