Events you attend: Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Malibu, Cardiff, Santa Monica. What you do off the beach: At home playing PJ Masks, cars or bubbles out front, also movies with snacks. Nightly walks with my family. You can find me at the track where I like to run and box. I love to have daily dance parties with my family, play hide and seek and make homemade pizzas. I love cameras and taking photos and videos on my mommy’s phone. I love the theater and love to act and sing. I ride at the Shea Center weekly. I love horses and feeding them carrots. I play baseball and my teams name is the Angels. How long have you been with AWOW: Two years maybe three? Family: I have two sisters. I am the middle child. I love being a little brother and a big brother. Alexis is my older sissy. We love to have dance parties, color, play ball and watch movies. Gemma is my younger sissy. We love to play together, giggle, read books, play pretend, and play basketball, soccer, and dance. My mommy’s name is Amy. I love making smoothies, going to the beach and building sand castles with my mommy. My daddy’s name is Chris. I love being silly and watching cars drive by on PCH with my daddy. A Queensland watch house officer has been suspended following an investigation into the recent death of an Indigenous woman in custody. Aunty Sherry Tilberoo, 49, was found dead in her cell at the Brisbane watch house on September 10. She had been remanded in custody three days earlier and was waiting to be transferred to a correctional facility. Assistant Commissioner Brian Codd said the Ethical Standards Command immediately started an independent investigation. On the basis of interim advice provided by investigators, the QPS has taken decisive action including suspending an assistant watch house officer from duty, pending the outcome of that investigation, he said. This suspension relates to allegations of failure of duty in relation to the performance of regular physical checks on prisoners in the watch house and related record keeping. Assistant Commissioner Codd said advice from the coroner remains that Aunty Sherry Tilberoo died of natural causes. Multiple people were shot and now have life-threatening injuries Several shootings erupted in Charlotte, NC on September 29, 2020 in diffrent areas. The shootings were at Glenmoor Drive, Rush Wind Drive, and apartments on Timber Springs Drive. 4 people total were shot, and others were injured in the commotion. The first shooting was on Glenmoor Drive where two people were shot with life-threatening injuries. A third person was hurt during the shooting but was not shot. Less than an hour later there was a shooting on Rush Wind Drive. One person was shot and transported to the hospital. Imagine working in a field where you are expected to be proficient in your specialty, continue to train and educate yourself in said specialty, perform and assist with interventions, procedures and treatments within the specialty, provide explanations, information and education to those that utilize your specialty and make autonomous decisions based on your training that directly impact care only to be belittled and disrespected by colleagues that received further training within the field you both love because you didn’t choose the same path.⁣ ⁣ Imagine all that and also being told that you are not allowed to discuss, advocate, or educate outside of that realm. That you are not permitted to be considered an expert in the subject matter that you also devoted your time, energy and life to because you’re not a medical doctor. What if your certified? Have your Masters? What about a DNP? How about if you’re a nurse with a PhD? What if you’re just a brilliant RN? Performed research? Completed a study? Can you still not be an expert on a subject because you’re not an MD? Only MDs can be experts in health subjects? What if you’re a lousy MD? Is the education you provide or explain automatically higher quality? more accurate? Where is this line of thinking coming from?⁣ ⁣ Nobody argues that Dermatologists such a Dr. Lee aren’t experts in their field, but does that mean no one else can be? Is there a monopoly on knowledge and education? ⁣ ⁣ Nurses are pissed because this is nothing new. Great news! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Durham police will be getting $300,000 from the provincial government to help bolster their human trafficking investigations unit. So. Some of you may be aware of who #ctfletcher is, some not. For those who aren’t, CT Fletcher was a bodybuilder and powerlifting champ who famously ate #mcdonalds every day for 20 years, probably one of the reasons he ended up with an enlarged heart and had to have open heart surgery. Apparently his order consisted of 4 large #bigmac meals, 4 apple pies and 2 shakes. Naturally, my good friend Dan and I thought we could do it but we decided to go with @beardmeatsfood version and sling some cheeseburgers in the mix for good measure, why wouldn’t you?? So they ended up getting my order wrong and brought out 4 TRIPLE cheeseburgers instead of the singles I ordered, Dan being Dan intentionally ordered the triples. So how did I do? I failed, of course I failed. As did Dan, but we made an impressive dent in our orders. I managed to nail the 4 Big Macs, 3 large fries, 2 apple pies and 2 milkshakes whilst Dan bested me with an additional 2 triple cheeseburgers 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Now I can’t quite put into words how terrible I felt after my attempt at the challenge, Dan coming out of it somewhat worse off, but let’s just say I definitely wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re a pro eater or have trained for it and even then it is just a really, really bad idea 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Here’s to the next one, hopefully a long, long, long way away. Was MIR geholfen hat, wirklich SATT statt VOLL zu werden. Wie ich mit der Überschrift verdeutlichen möchte geht es in diesem Post um meine persönlichen und somit subjektiven Erfahrungen in Bezug darauf, wie man seinen Magen wieder an physiologisch normale und angemessene Portion gewöhnen kann, ohne bei diesem Prozess extremen Hunger leiden zu müssen. Vorweg möchte ich hier auch klarmachen, dass wir nicht darum herum kommen werdet, das Gefühl der Leere zu empfinden. Also, in eurem Magen. Denn das ist eben Teil des Prozesses. Ihr kommt nicht darum herum, die Konsequenzen für euer Handeln zu tragen. Wir können lediglich versuchen, das ganze so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Der Fokus sollte jedoch viel mehr darauf liegen die Zeit zu nutzen, um ein Essverhalten, Nahrungsmittelauswahl und Portionsgrößen zu etablieren, die langfristig funktionieren und euch dauerhaft zufrieden machen. ⚠️Was mir am meisten geholfen hat : - Möglichst vollwertige und vielseitige Mahlzeiten essen. D.h., weg von riesigen Mengen einzelner Lebensmittel. Zum Beispiel direkt ein Kilo Karotten. Dafür lieber eine kleinere Mahlzeit mit vielen verschiedenen Arten von Gemüse. - Alle Makronährstoffe in jeder Mahlzeit. Das bedeutet, keine extremen low carb, low fat Meals. Natürlich macht viel Protein per se erst mal satt, allerdings eben doch nur bedingt, wenn einer oder gar beide der anderen Makronährstoffe extrem reduziert sind oder quasi komplett fehlen. - Gerichte selbst zubereiten. Ihr wisst, ich hasse es, zu kochen. Und ich werde auch nie jemand, der lange Zeit in der Küche steht und sich der Zubereitung widmet. Allerdings hat es mir trotzdem extrem geholfen, zumindest 5-10 Minuten Gerichte selbst zuzubereiten. Der Prozess der Zubereitung allein schafft irgendwie mehr Zufriedenheit und Wertschätzung für das, was man da gerade isst. - Mach mal warm! Ich liebe Rohkost. Und ich liebe es, essen direkt bei Raumtemperatur oder noch gekühlt aus dem Kühlschrank zu essen. This years @tunnel2towers run was a little different. Although Tommy wasn’t there physically, he was there in spirit with us. This years 5k run had a large showing for Tommy, with the run being in his memory. Tommy always ran this 5k in turnouts and he did it knowing it was for an amazing cause. We want to thank the Brightwater Community for their overwhelming support during the Bolsa Chica Fire incident.  After the fire, the community came together and raised money to provide a generous gift of $4,000 to be given to the Fire Department.  The Fire Department then turned the gift over to the Huntington Beach Fire Outreach Foundation. In turn, the Huntington Beach Fire Outreach Foundation purchased a total of 40 particulate filtering flash hoods for Huntington Beach Firefighters.  These flash hoods will immediately improve the safety of our firefighters.   These flash hoods beyond protecting them against the heat, help to block carcinogenic particulates and protect them while they work to protect our community. On September 15th, 2020 at approximately 7:30 AM, a 78 year old woman was walking on the 100 Block of Turk Street. Firefighters have answered over 60 calls for service in the last two days including this motor vehicle fire on Tuesday morning in West Hanover Square. This fire occurred at the same time crews were responding to a medical emergency in Town. The Department has seen a continued increase in multiple/simultaneous calls over the previous three years. Over that same time period, our reliance on mutual aid has declined. This is largely a result of enhanced staffing of on-duty shifts made possible by the SAFER Grant. But I don’t believe in “justice” from our corrupt white supremacist and fascist system. I believe in the people’s justice, and I know we’ll get it for her. Rest in power, Breonna. We’ll keep fighting for you 🧡 The never-ending pain, injustices, and sorrow that Black people have experienced over the past 400 years in this country have radicalized me into a revolutionary. The liberation of Black people and abolition of all oppressive systems are the central focus of my life now, and it truly feels like my priorities have fallen into place 💛 But before I had this awakening, I had my family and friends teaching me what it means to be a decent human being. Yesterday, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed numerous gun control bills that expand the State’s already unconstitutional regulatory scheme and infringe on fundamental, human rights. AB 2362 will impose fines of up to $3,000 for even inconsequential errors made by gun shops. Given the already aggressive nature of the California Department of Justice’s audit process, this law threatens to shutter small businesses, drastically increase the cost of doing business in California, reduce the public’s access to licensees necessary to buy and transfer firearms, parts, and ammunition, and even more severely limit the ability of Californians to lawfully transact in arms. “Inherent in the right to ‘keep and bear’ something is the right to acquire it,” said FPC Director of Legal Policy Matthew Larosiere. “AB 2362 is nothing short of a steamroller to crush small businesses and attack the legal arms market in California. @scalifit face when I told him we’re having Mac and Cheese with hot dogs and ketchup last night... with an SnS Twist 💁🏽‍♀️ Directions Boil 400g riced cauliflower in 1 cup of @trulocal bone broth (you can sub for any liquid but the health benefits and added protein are a bonus!) and little truffle olive oil for 6-8 mins or until cooked. Transfer to a blender and add in a few tbsps nutritional yeast (for a dairy free cheesy taste and an awesome source of B12) and liquid (you can add some more bone broth) as needed to reach desired consistency. If it’s too thick, add more bone broth or for a creamier consistency add coconut milk. If it’s too runny, bring it to a boil and add a thickening agent such as tapioca flour (any flour would probably work). Sauté up the chorizo in diced onion and garlic and add to the boiled @chickapeapasta (you could omit this because of the high protein content of this pasta but... #gains). FDNY members from #Station50, #Station39, and Queens Tactical Response Group (QTRG) arrived first on scene to confirm the patient was in stable condition. FDNY members from #Ladder150, #Engine270, and #Ladder165 secured the patient to a stokes basket and removed the patient to safety via aerial ladder. Most people that have what you don’t because they are willing to do what you won’t... One of the things I hear often is “It must be easy when you have good genetics or for someone like you” No one is born with natural talent but through intentional effort we can make our talents second nature. We are creatures of habit so build the habits the create the life you want. We can wish for what we desire or we can weigh the results of our efforts and make adjustments along the way to make things happen. A little more yields a lot more Luck takes a lot of work... we are all presented with amazing opportunities, the difference between the perceived lucky and those you see themselves as unlucky is the work put in. Putting in the to be prepared, being the person need to be in order to live the life you desire, so that when an opportunity arrives they have the ability to act. Wake up everyday and make an effort to be a little bit better and you will be pleasantly surprised at the opportunity you will be able to take advantage of. Going from 245 pounds, drinking everyday living off fast food, beers, coffee and cigarettes to the man I am today wasn’t a matter of good luck, genetics or some magic moment... it’s the result of saying yes to myself and constantly making an effort to learn and grow so that hopefully one day it can feel natural. Nothing is ever completely out of reach you may just have to take a few step forward before it in within reach. I appreciate the support as I share my journey. Just had someone say “unbelievable” when asked if we were still closed. Not the first time and not the last time we’ll say this: it wasn’t our call to close. Us, as a board, CANNOT make that call to close. Police can and will restrict access and the city can order all beaches closed, like they did back in March.
