A fresh bouquet is delivered every week to my house - very elaborate and beautiful, lillies, gladiola, eucalyptus, roses. Magnificent flowers, new arrangements every week - thank you hubby! But I never paint them when they are so perfectly beautiful (I do enjoy them around the house though!). I wait until some of them wither, disassemble the whole arrangement into tiny cute bouquets and then I paint them. Acrylic ink on paper. The comments especially were so thoughtful, touching and inspiring! (Link in bio) ➡️Art therapists are frontline “essential workers” during the Coronavirus pandemic. Half (53.1%) of art therapists surveyed said that they are continuing to go to work in person. Among those continuing to work in person, the vast majority (64.5%) said they were considered to be “essential workers” by their employers, many working in psychiatric hospital settings or outpatient mental health clinics. ➡️These art therapist “essential workers” reported their doubts about the safety measures and precautions in place at their job sites. When asked whether social distancing guidelines were implemented adequately at their workplace, more than a third (37.1%) responded “no” or “somewhat,” or were “unsure.” ➡️Art therapists have stepped out of their comfort zones to get creative virtually. If offering teletherapy, art therapists are using video sessions about a quarter of the time (27%) and telephone calls for the remainder (73%). Three in four (76.2%) survey takers offering teletherapy said they felt “more comfortable using technology during the crisis than previously.” ➡️However, the adoption of technology has also resulted in many challenges, some unique to the art therapy profession. More than three quarters of art therapists said that they had difficulty viewing clients’ art-making processes (79.8%) and were challenged incorporating art materials (78.2%). Im reading Anthony William the @medicalmedium s book Thyroid Healing and drinking fresh #celeryjuice Two of my favourite things 💚🌱🦋🙏🏼 Im so thankful for the opportunity and resources to learn how to take back my health and to become my own health expert. Healing is not for the faint of heart. Its deep work. Its a long road because Ive been sick my whole life. In and out of hospitals and doctors offices since age 3. Its not easy. But its even HARDER to stay sick, depressed, hooked on pharmaceuticals and chronically dis-EASE ridden for life. Either way there is suffering. But while healing there is hope on the other side! It may be years in the making but its possible!!! My intention is to stay thankful and focus on the positive side of things. For me thats a daily battle. I remind myself; Feel the feels then move on. Learn from the difficult situations. Discover what serves you in the moment. Use that to grow forward. Set your mind on Christ above all. Without Spirit of Compassion none of this would be possible. It was hard to graduate during this pandemic. It was challenging at first to create a product during lockdown and after graduation finding a platform to present my work. There was no graduation show, only a online catalog for graduates to present their work. The City of Sevierville and Sevier County have been terrific partners for many years, but our stadium contract expires in 2024, so it seems like a good time to think through all options. Thats why Boyd Sports is teaming up with so many others in Knoxville to explore a potential new baseball complex in Downtown Knoxville - modeled after Chicagos famed Wrigleyville with a state-of-the-art stadium, apartments, shopping, and restaurants. Right now, its only in early discussions and meetings with officials and community members to get their input on the idea. Then, any initiative for public consideration would come from city and county leadership. Cover of Concise History of Australia - looking back to places where my artwork has featured. My painting ‘Brave Hunter’ was chosen as the iconic Australian image for the cover of ‘A Concise History of Australia’, Cambridge University Press @cambridgeuniversitypress (2009) I developed an intimate connection to the landscape and stories of Bundanon @bundanontrust after spending a year working with Arthur Boyd in 1993/4 as well as living at both Bundanon and Riversdale. Whilst Artist in Residence at Bundanon in 2000 I created a painting called ‘Brave Hunter’, part of my Shoalhaven Stories series, telling a story from a photo shown to me by Arthur from the Bundanon archives. Hey - it’s us again! We’ve still been here (quietly) just working away on the orders for our kitchen racks that come in, and with that we have an update on all current orders for our kitchen racks. We’ve been given the run around by our suppliers for the timber needed to make all our kitchen racks, simple explanation is that due to COVID and delivery of supplies delayed, out of stock to them, means we can’t access any stock until they’ve got stock. They are completely sold out of the timber we need. We do have some other suppliers we are going to try that is not convenient but are up for doing in order to get your racks made for you. We will do all we can to get supplies to get these out ASAP. Stay tuned here on Instagram for updates and if worse comes to worse I’ll send you all an email as to what we can do next. Do you have trouble identifying your “signature” colours? The key is picking up on the colours you are already using. Try this: Have a look at your last 10 paintings. What is the colour (or colours) that seem most obvious? The one that you have used to the best effect, the one you have used most often, that appeals to you the most? It doesn’t have to be the biggest or brightest. Now, consider how you might use that colour in a new way: . 1. Place a small dab of the colour next to your focal point, or 2. In your painting, deliberately place it beside an opposite colour on the colour wheel, or 3. Make it the biggest colour or use it in an unexpected way... yes, paint that tree crimson! . I discovered I was using orange flecks as a highlight colour so I decided to paint the entire background orange in my still-life above. . Identifying the colours which speak naturally to you is a great starting point for building a signature palette and than expanding it throughout your work. Try it! 🎨 - @theskilledartist on Instagram

As I carried my third child, I thought a lot about how my body held and sustained him as he grew and developed within. Now that he is born my body continues to provide for him and sustain him, just as it does my other two children. My vessel carries the love, knowledge and strength that it takes to care for them. In more recent months, as we have been experiencing a pandemic, political unrest and moral turmoil, I have thought about how my beliefs, experiences and agency—all held within my own vessel—affect the world around me. As I have been creating these works I have thought about the ways in which our vessels have the capacity to carry others in their time of need. To be filled with love for our brothers and sisters, whether or not we have the same view point. To hold empathy and love by seeing others as ourselves. Maddie Salamone joined us last week to discuss concerns regarding college athlete abuse and mistreatment. Maddie attended Duke University where she competed on the Varsity Womens Lacrosse team and was chair of the NCAAs DI Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
