Photo dump from @shiftinggears_media! The #Freebird Trans Am was a handful in the rain all day. We were running in to an issue where a wheel hop from the handbrake (wild feeling) was actually shaking the ARC panel connector loose causing my car to turn off on a few turns (like the bank). Then we broke the right rear brake caliper bolts, and I lost a brake line in the process, taking out my rear brake system on track. Then when I fixed that, I ripped my panhard bar OUT OF THE FRAME. Oh yeah, and also we bent another rear lower control arm... In short, everything on the car was basically trying to kill me all day. Not to mention the intermittent weather making it all SO MUCH better. The cool thing is we still were able to lock down the proper runs to qualify, and that right there can be a positive moment to focus on. In a way I should be thankful for the rain, because having these issues at low speed is probably why I still have a car to put in to the trailer. Whenever building a one off car, youve got to expect to hit some speed bumps along the way. So we will go back, fix what broke, make it better, and try again. - @jjalfano on Instagram

A big past weekend for me with ups and downs. Qualified fourth and in the pre final crashed and had to start last for the main. In the main I went from last to fourth earning the hard charger award and going purple. Sunday started out well with a pole position and coming second in the pre final. During the main event I began to have an engine problem mid way through around lap 13 while in the lead. I continued to hold the lead up till lap 20 with a lap and a half to go I came around a turn, got on the throttle, and the motor shut off due to debris getting in the carburetor. That was the end of the race for me. Not the result that I wanted, but that’s racing and in the end had a fantastic weekend. Thank you to Jesus @p1enginesinc for giving me the power to be at the front. Thank you to @alexkeyez for the great coaching to make me better and to @mattkeyez for the hard work you put in to make the kart fast. Thank you to everyone on my new team that helped me with driving and also made me laugh @kyriakos_sioukas @abbykeyesracing @djsioukas Last I would like to thank my dad for driving me out to the track every weekend and for the encouragement he gives me. Well 1st Crandon is a wrap and it went pretty good for me and absolutely awesome for @oshow45. I ended up winning Pro Mod on Saturday but make a rookie mistake on the start of Sunday’s race. After the disastrous start Sunday I made it all the way up to 8th in only 3 laps but just got cleaned out which ended our day. The real highlight of the weekend was definitely watching Owen get his first Pro Stock win on championship Sunday. OFFICIALLY Class 7 Baja 500 champs once again. This @hondaoffroadracing @hondaracing_hpd Ridgeline ran absolutely PERFECT all day long thanks to an incredible @evan_weller_racing prep job and changes they made after Vegas to Reno. @proctor_race and Evan drove the first 360 miles and handed the truck over to @thumpermike and I with a huge lead. All we had to do was keep the truck moving along and that’s what we did. The @fox shocks were absolutely flawless all race long on this rough San Felipe course. I raced in honestly one of the best races of my life last night. Everyone raced clean but aggressive, I was only 0.07 seconds off the lead and was yelling in my helmet going across the finish line, while @cjgreaves33 was yelling in my ear over the radio. But even though the yelling didn’t help and I finished second, I couldn’t be any happier right now! This also made an unexpected tie with @jake_kosmecki_94 for 2nd in the championship which I ended up getting it cause of race finishes, but congratulations to him on an amazing race season. Round 7 this past weekend was a hot one! I Qualified 29th and straight to the motos. First moto I was moving forward each lap, I got up to 18th and took a dirt sample getting tangled with another rider. Finished the moto and on to the second moto.. unfortunately we had a mechanical on the 3rd lap resulting in a DNF. Luckily it was not the motor. My speed was really good, with the last couple weeks being so hectic, to see myself moving forward each lap was a plus. I’m feeling good on the bike and I’m ready the next round. As I reflect on the @pll championship series and our bubble/force field, I think about the players, coaches, medical advisors, investors, NBC, and sponsors that took the leap of faith with us. Without all of them, it could not have been pulled it off. But I also think about my brother @paulrabil and how he selflessly puts the league before anything else in his life. He eats, sleeps, and breathes a better future for lacrosse via the @PLL. His relentless pursuit for perfection and optimistic outlook provides us with the daily energy to push forward when times are hard. I also think about how lucky I am to work with the most creative, smart, and hard working colleagues in sports. Their attention to detail, long nights, sweat, tears, and thought that they put into our league and sport is unmatched. What a great weekend! My first ever race in a Late model, with the greatest people there to support me! Friday, in practice we unloaded with a fast car. I was sitting p4 in both practices. When qualifying time rolled around we found more speed, but so did everyone else and we ended up qualifying p5 out of 19 cars! After a hard fought race and running in the top 5 throughout the race, unfortunately we got caught up in a wreck and tore the transmission out of it, therefore resulting in us too not be able to finish the race. We will move onto the next race at @gpspeedway and be back stronger/better than ever! Can’t thank everyone who makes this possible, the whole @meredithmotorsports crew is top notch and gives me a fast race car everytime I hit the track I can’t thank those guys enough! After a long five days in St. Louis, we got on the bad end of a great race with my respected competitor, JB Strassweg.
