Al pasar por Punta de Choros ves a la gente frenar para acercarse a estos cánidos silvestres, ves que les dejan agua (lo cual podría ser un foco de infecciones), ves que apenas hacen el ademán de darles comida, los zorros se acercan y eso no está bien. Más encima oyes a la gente decir lo lindos que son, los oyes decir que quieren hacerles cariño. Está mal, hay que entender que son criaturas silvestres. Pero lamentablemente han ido perdiendo eso que los hace silvestres y somos testigos de un preocupante proceso de impronta. ¿Qué será de ellos ahora, en medio de la cuarentena? ¿Estarán valiéndose por sí mismos o seguirán a la espera de que alguien llegue a ofrecerles algo? Took a little trip to Joshua Tree National Park 🏞️🤙🏽 All the campsites were full so I had to hit the trails for a backpacking adventure. . I wandered through the desert with my backpack and tripod, taking in the beautiful views. Dinosaur Ridge, the top dinosaur track site in the USA, is just outside of Denver, Colorado. You can walk around or up a small hill/ridge and see many types of dinosaur fossils as well as sea life from the same era embedded in the rock face. I have included a series of pictures. They have signs telling you about the dinosaurs that made the fossils, so you can do a self-guided tour. Some of the best-known dinosaur fossils and tracks were found here, including Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, Theropod, and Allosaurus. When I went 6 or 7 years ago, admission was free. You could also download an audio tour on your phone for free. Guided tours are $15. They have a museum and gift shop on site too. This is a great educational and interesting place to visit if you are in Denver. Best of all it is a nice walk in fresh air in beautiful surroundings. Bye bye Beachwood! I’ve had an amazing 9 years on the iconic ‘does this lead to the Hollywood sign?’ street but it’s time to trade the tourists for neighborhood life in Atwater Village. I’ve loved every minute of my time in Hollywood, even during the 4am attempted break in (ok maybe not then). We checked out the newly opened @area15official a few days ago and WOW. Just, WOW. Even without anchor tenants @meow__wolf and @lostspiritsdistillery open yet, there is SO MUCH to do and see. It is VERY cool, and honestly we probably only saw about 1/4 of it. ——— You have to reserve tickets ahead of time; it’s free to do so but they’re currently completely sold out through October and haven’t opened up reservations for November yet. Once inside, there are bars to eat and drink at and several of the “rides” are open (those aren’t free, though), including one that zips you around the ceiling so you get a birds-eye-view of the whole venue! ——— Here’s photos just from the outside leading to the main entry. over the summer, i got sick to my stomach. my gut failed routinely, sounding an alarm that resonated up the vagus nerve, rang in my chest, echoed in my brain. i developed an intimacy with the link between constipation and depression, indigestion and anxiety. it turns out i had a chronic salmonella infection, the bacteria living within me for months, possibly years. most bodies clear salmonella easily, mine did not. as a consequence, the wrong bacteria cultured in my small intestine and reproduced every time my body attempted to ferment so many foods i thought to be nourishing. sweet potatoes, it turns out, were not the answer. i felt the inflammation as it traveled from my stomach to my head, my joints, my skin. im deeply grateful to have received a diagnosis and to be following a treatment plan. i lost my insurance this year and had a long, bureaucratic gap in coverage that compounded the anxiety of being ill. weighing sickness against healthcare tuned me into every last structure that keeps me alive, decides my life is worth maintaining. our society doesnt say this about everyone, and until it does, it is our absolute moral imperative to close the gap. health care is a human right, housing is a human right, living wages are a human right. ive only just started to heal. on my good days, i am a more capable feeler than ive ever been. with a deep exhale i can frame myself in geologic time, zoom out in a way that brings peace, not panic, makes sadness felt, not feared. and as our planet careens toward authoritarianism and climate genocide, the quantity and depth of sadness to come is paralyzing. in order to act, to organize, to courageously summon a better world, i think we must open up to this reality. sometimes this work is so brutal it’s only comprehensible at a distance, through something like artwork, or the san gabriel mountains. music, i still hope, can help us along. - @simulcast__ on Instagram

As the hustle, the so called 9 to 5/7/8/9... grind was chirping away at my soul, being able to make a pilgrimage to @losangeles_city was nothing but absolute bliss.
