Typically I get to this time every 4 years and I say something like, Cant wait until this election is over so we can move on... But no matter what the outcome, I dont think well just be moving on this time. I think it will create a greater divide. Have we gone so far that we have fundamentally changed America? I dont know. Maybe. The feeling that I need to build fences around my world is increasing. Barriers to keep my sanity. To keep this world from flooding in. I cant control all of this, but I can control my reaction to it. I delve deeper into herbalism, self-reliance, develop my own food system year-round, and focus on family. Faith and health are my focus this year. Get in shape for whatever comes our way. Because attitude is everything, and so is the ability to physically keep up. Keep up with chores, keep up the immune system, keep up the emotional battle... Nobody has our back but us and our closest friends and family. The media isnt our friend. The politicians arent either. So look inward this year to the things in 2021 that you can control, and start there. Keep gardening. Replenish your preps- including your seed stash. Network with neighbors. Be frugal. Be resourceful. Keep your powder dry. Dont neglect your health. Stay safe and keep on prepping friends. - @survivalbetty on Instagram

One of our surviving historic treasures is the Kerckhoff Marine Lab in China Cove. While it became a Marine Lab when it was sold to Caltech, it was originally designed as a boat and bath house for the short-lived Balboa Palisades Club in 1926. The club ran into financial difficulty while it was still being built and they ended up selling it to Caltech in late 1929 for $50,000. The lab was acquired with funds donated by William G. Kerckhoff, a California businessman who made his fortune in power and gas. #cdm #coronadelmar #cdmhistorical #chinacove #kerckhoff #marinelab #ochistory #socalhistory #caltech #uci - @cdmhistorical on Instagram
