Meet Champ! 👋🏼❤️ Recently, Champ required surgery. “He had a bullae build up in his lung, which caused a puncture in part of the lung,” Sandy [owner] explains. “The lung couldnt expand because pressure was building on the outside and he had trouble breathing.” The family brought him to Dr. Stickland at Animal Medical Center of Chandler. @amcofc “She and her staff put Champ in her private vehicle and while they transported him to the hospital, staff members were in the back of the vehicle helping him breathe.” The surgery entailed removing part of his lung. #TransformationTuesday is one of our favorite days of the week because we get to celebrate how amazing fostering can be to the life of a dog! Yukon was featured on last weekends episode of the #FridayNightFosterClub, and we cant wait to see him find his home! This sweet Husky mix was found on the street with mange, but thanks to the wonderful care of his foster over the last month he is doing so great and is available for adoption! I’m drowning in a whirlpool of grief that came on so suddenly that I’m pretty sure I’m still floating somewhere underneath the crashing and unexpected rouge wave. Yesterday we noticed that Finn was seemingly off and decided to take him to the emergency room vet to be looked at. From worry to heartbreak in less than 30 minutes we learned our beloved Finn had Cancer - Hemangiosarcoma - and a tumor had ruptured in his stomach and metastasized. He has been my constant source of companionship over these past ten years. My worries, secrets, victories & hopes wrapped up and encapsulated tightly within his fur, my love poured into every ounce of his 70 pound frame. I loved him beyond explanation ever since the moment I locked eyes with him all those years ago when we rescued him. He was my first hug every morning and the last head scratch before bed. The literal and constant heartbeat at my feet. He took up so much room in our house that he was almost always in the way (read: always) and I can barley stomach the thought of starting today or any other day to come without him. Bubba. You left this world with your head in my lap and I hope you’re running along a heavenly coastline with that big black tongue hanging out somewhere up above the clouds. Getting to spend everyday of the last five months with you is the most silver of linings. And man those linings are really hard to see right now in the worst year known as 2020. We will miss you for all of our days. You were so much more than a good boy - you were and are the absolute best. Today ironically is #nationaldogday but in our home this day was everyday because he was truly celebrated and loved every day of his life. Rest easy big boy.
