After a 17-year hiatus, on Saturday, September 19th, @huntsacker and Rob Pula hosted The Ride to Survive 2020, taking place across Windsor/Essex in support of T2B.
 Dave and Rob donated so much of their time to make this a success by recruiting friends, family & sponsors. The grassroots community support for this event has been INCREDIBLE.
 To bring back this event after 17 years was beyond memorable. The team approach & dedication was unlike anything we could have ever imagined - Dave Hunter
 The dedication and determination from donors, sponsors, organizers & riders was nothing short of magnificent. I want to be a part of this event for as long as I can. – Rob Pula
 We are unbelievably grateful to announce the total funds raised by all the teams was an astounding $181,000!
 We operated our programs throughout this pandemic and even expanded some such as our Comfort Blankets, iPads and food drops. 
 This past year has brought a whirlwind of challenges. However, our T2B team and partners continue to roll with the changes. On Saturday, mid-afternoon, we received disheartening news regarding new provincial gathering regulations that forced us to postpone Sunday, Day 2, with all the participants.
 That didnt stop The Ride to Survive Day 2 participants from taking it upon themselves to hit the asphalt and ride in honour for T2B & their loved ones. This event was a full community effort.
 Thanks to the support of our generous community and the riders who didnt just register but helped raise thousands of dollars. They pulled out all the stops to support & comfort patients & their loved ones. Our programs never stopped running, and with all of your support, you helped us maintain them. The 2020 @triplecrownseries was anything but normal, and despite that, I can hands down say it was the most memorable. Racing in the sand along with rain/mud/insane heat, was such a good challenge and progress was made, which is always the goal! Enfield Council are looking into creating a wetlands in Oakwood Park. Wetlands reduce the risk of flooding and pollution, whilst enhancing local biodiversity. They are also lovely places to visit. Theres a new job on film and TV sets: COVID-19 compliance officers. • They perform temperature checks, make sure the cast and crew are wearing PPE, practising physical distancing, washing their hands and sanitizing often — no matter how famous they may be. • Josh Van Altenberg is usually a paramedic on film and TV sets. Now, he’s also responsible for COVID compliance. • I actually have no fear of having the same conversation with a big name star whos flown in from L.A. to film a movie as I would a production assistant, he told CBC News. COVID doesnt care what tax bracket were in. • Van Altenberg said cast and crew wear masks at all times, even outdoors. • Actors are only allowed to take off masks just before shooting starts. They go right back on after a scene cuts. • Cast and crew are getting tested too, sometimes multiple times a week, depending on the production. • Sheri Sutherland runs a fleet of film medics who also do compliance. La ‘Patrulla de Control’ ha atendido 500 incidentes en septiembre Cerca de 2.400 sucesos han sido atendidos a través del Centro de Monitoreo Municipal y sistema de megafonía, en septiembre. De estos acontecimientos, el 27% corresponde a la falta de aplicación de medidas de bioseguridad frente a la pandemia. Para reforzar la seguridad, la Alcaldía Ciudadana de Manta creó la ’Patrulla de Control’. Este equipo humano ha identificado 500 incidentes que incumplen con el plan de reactivación, uso de la vía pública y permisos de funcionamiento. Se han emitido 80 actas de advertencia, 27 suspensiones de actividades por falta de permisos y por mal uso, 21 sanciones y se han retenido más de 20 vehículos por incumplimiento a las medidas de circulación. Los operativos de control se realizan diariamente, pero se intensifican los fines de semana. Esta acción preventiva se ejecuta con un trabajo articulado del GAD Manta, Policía Nacional y Cuerpo de Bomberos. Happy National Public Lands Day! . A huge thank you to our small set of volunteers who came out this morning to help put picnic tables together. We totally divided and conquered! After testing the tables (aka SNACK TIME), we got to briefly explore the trails on the hunt for trash. We managed to social distance, meet new people AND enjoy the park. . Additional KUDOS go to all other Enchanted Rock park visitors -- we found very little trash in the areas we explored. We stumbled upon this #ohsoballard tribute to Representative John Lewis on our #urbanpilgrimage one evening this week. Representative Lewis committed his life to the work of justice and democracy. As a child, I witnessed his commitment to the marginalized as I marched beside him in the Atlanta Hunger Walk one year and in college, reading his book Walking in the Wind: A Memoir of the Movement inspired me to choose careers where I might work for justice as well. On this day, I encourage you to pay your own tribute to John Lewis by voting in today’s primary if you haven’t already! In fact, I’m not sure there could be a better way to pay tribute to him as in his final opinion piece for @nytimes he wrote, “Voting and participating in the democratic process are key. The vote is the most powerful nonviolent change agent you have in a democratic society. ✨PROGRESS PICS✨ You guys, how awesome is the outdoor venue space turning out? It went from dirt field to DREAM WEDDING space. Of course, its still not complete, but you can tell by the photos that its going to absolutely gorgeous! We hauled in old railroad ties and reused them to border the sod along the pathway. Well be adding white rock and more sod to finish it off. We cannot WAIT for our first wedding later this month. A suspect is in custody and will be booked at the county jail, he’s just not very likely to be held very long with current State booking requirements. The Smyrna Police Department is known to post photos on Facebook, but they said one of the photos stood out. The posted picture below is of SPD Officer T. Melvin whose photo was captured comforting and praying with our victim, the Facebook post reads. According to SPD, Officer Melvin served as a United States Marine prior to joing in the department. Today we worked in the snow and it was freezing. This Saturday we took part in World Cleanup Day, an annual global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem, including the problem of marine debris. This year we partnered with @the_litterboom_project and some amazing local businesses for a week long #cleanyourstretch program to help rid our local beaches of the waste that plagues them. The teams were stationed at 3 base locations around Durban where compostable bin bags were provided and collected afterwards: Beachwood Country Club @colombo_coffee, Durban View Umhlanga (@coffee_kartel) and Ballito (@concha_cafe). A ação foi conduzida nesta segunda-feira (31) pelo Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária (Incra) e pela Polícia Federal. É que uma vistoria realizada em 2019 apurou que vários beneficiários e ex-beneficiários, ou seja, famílias excluídas do Programa Nacional de Reforma Agrária (PNRA), fracionaram e venderam 17 parcelas do assentamento, praticamente transformando a área em um bairro residencial. Com isso, foram criados pelo menos 800 terrenos – a maioria deles já com construções de alvenaria, onde residem centenas de famílias que não se enquadram nos requisitos para serem beneficiadas com lotes da reforma agrária. The aftermath of 9/11 has lasted for many years. It’s still not over as we continue to lose 1st Responders to health related issues, PTSD, suicide, etc. On June 23, 2012, we lost Chris Pupo to 9/11 related cancer. Chris was a great fellow MEC and friend. We interviewed together for a newly formed USCG AT/FP unit prior to enlisting in 2004. Yesterday a crew of people came to @pointreyesnps to draw attention to and demand the fence at pierce Point be taken down. . This fence prevents the largest herd of Tule elk from roaming free in the national park. It prevents them from foraging healthy food and when the water dries up (as we’ve been noticing, and this is only the beginning of the dry season) they will be left to die. This happened once under NPS’s watch and we don’t trust them to not let it happen again. . The fence is there to prevent the elk from eating grass in the park that is leased to 24 private cattle and dairy ranches. that’s literally it. . It’s bleak out there. These images are both inspiring to me and give me hope, and they make me sad and infuriated as well. It should not take this much work for wildlife to be prioritized— esp in a national park. .
