PURIST MAGAZINE PART 1 ✒️Remember that art is process, the journey is always the only arrival. I thank Julia Cameron for that wisdom and reminder. It’s the closest way of words that can describe my relationship to my work. The lives that I have had the privilege to witness through my art are living breathing entities that grow, changes and teach. After all transitions give room for vulnerability. We grieve loss and we celebrate birth along this winding path of complex human emotions. It’s such a testament to life and what makes it so fragile and beautiful. My entire life is embedded in all I do, it’s the only way I know how to create. Each image is a reflection of my own story. These photographs are a glimpse of that sacred space. It is with pure joy that I am sharing this heartfelt project that I did for the July issue of Purist Magazine. I am deeply thankful for the relationships that trusted me and allowed me to share this. There is not a moment that goes by without that gratitude. It’s a complicated fragile time in this country and I have found that healing is never something we do completely in solitude. Our wounds are our courage, our brokenness is also our light. It took me a long time to truly lean into that process. Don, Loved capturing all these images. You are a beautiful brave soul that continues to educate and inspire me. Thank you for being so humble and brilliant at the same time. We need you.
