Ok. I couldn’t let Gus have all the glory, so @scottbraaplyphoto got some great shots before I had to return these doofy robes. . Thought about doing actual headshots but listen, I graduated college wearing two braids, chucks and jeans, so the whole sundress-and-soft-lighting thing would have just been inauthentic. . On that note, the last photo deserves some explanation. It’s from 2014, maybe 2013. Someone had given me this School of Foreign Service sweatshirt and I thought it was pretentious and ridiculous. I’d never get in there, and it felt stupid to wear. But I also thought the Arabic script was cool, so I kept it. I still have it. If you’d told that girl that it’s March 2020 and she just graduated from the SFS and was about to finish law school (and there’s a global pandemic and Donald Trump is president), she would’ve laughed in your face. Probably would’ve had a few choice words for you. Likely woulda called you an asshole. . But here we are, and here’s to us. All of you who got me through it without dropping out and (mostly) without donkey-kicking at everything in sight. We did it. We fucking did it. That’s it. That’s all I got. . P.S. $OLD))) Video about to post. This is how I’ve always wanted a 5150 to sound. The shrill highs and scooped mids just never really did it for me. Installed an adjustable bias and a fresh set of JJ KT77s to warm up and boost the mids of the power section. Changed the presence frequency so it pushes high mids instead of the shrill icepick it’s known for. Replaced all blocking caps with orange drops and made some other tweaks that I will be taking to my grave (so don’t ask 😂) Also including a handmade channel and FX loop foot switch and a brand new. The outdoors are becoming our therapy • Ive always wanted to travel with a dog. 2 is a bit much but these 2 were rescued separately off the streets and have been so sweet and for the most part obedient. They looked the happiest wandering off leash but they listened once I called for them. Found my traveling companions 🥰 • Thanks to @canineoverland for capturing this moment. Making breakfast in the comfort of my own space. I love my setup. • And thanks to @traillanders for giving me the opportunity to venture out with them. Trusting my gut, following my passions & getting out of my own way...three things I’m working on and three of my toughest challenges. I discovered recently that I am a people pleaser to the max. That’s why I got into a client based business...that’s why I theoretically want to tell people’s stories...to make the viewers and the subjects happy. But lost somewhere among my good intentions is a perpetually unsatisfied need: to control people’s perception of me and to ultimately be liked. So what does this have to do with my business? Everything and nothing...Even though I just started I feel like I have already gone down a path that may not end in the place I ultimately want to be. So this is all to say that I am going to switch gears a little bit and work on some “me” stuff. I’m going to be busy...but it may not result in immediate pay off and that’s okay. I’m going to keep my client list small and start working on projects that make me sweat with excitement. I’ll keep it purposely vague for now. 🧟‍♂️Mr. Fusion dropper hack. 🚀This is an exercise in ‘because they ask’, and it is something we are working on, but with limited time and resources these days, it’s a bit tougher to move ahead with (relatively) complex design projects. 🚀What I’ve done is to simply drill out a @wolf_tooth_comp Valais dropper-stopper, to accept the Mr. Fusion thru-bolt. This is not an inexpensive hack, but it does work. 🚀As you can see, it has drastically limited my drop, as I’m only 5’8”, but with a longer 31” inseam. This is a 150mm @pnwcomponents post. For taller riders, this hack would be more advantageous, and for shorter folks, less so. #thankscaptainobvious 🚀I am working on a clamp to make this work better for everyone, by taking up less space on the post’s stanchion, but see above for the excuse. Maybe @wolf_tooth_comp wants to collaborate? 😉 🙅🏻‍♂️While this does work, and I am confident in it, the use of this hack comes with an ‘at your own risk’ CYA caveat. ❤️Stay safe out there, kids. - @porcelainrocket on Instagram
