It’s not easy to be real🌹real🌹real🌹 but let’s keep trying ✨ • Part of healing wounds and trauma of the past is not only recognizing the ways you have been injured, but also the ways your wounds have injured others • in having come out of a childhood of inconsistency and chaos, of neglect and co-dependency, of abuse and generational trauma, of poverty and marginalization, I learned a lot of false lessons about myself, love, life, and others, and whole chapters of my lesson book were missing... the one on apologies, on self-love, on self-respect, on conquering your fears, on being true to your word, on trust, on boundaries, on letting go of the past - all chapters missing pages or chapters missing outright • and so I hurt others with my own hurt throughout my life, and as I grow and heal, from time to time, I still revert to my old fears and my unhealthy patterns, and I still get bogged down by self-loathing when I do mess up • part of my healing is acknowledging when I’m wrong (to myself and if appropriate, to others), understand what I did wrong and why, and that “WHY” can help me forgive myself so that I can move on with the knowledge to apply to the future - so I can try my best to be less shitty at my worst, and to live and love fully in truth and openness at my best • and nobody better tell me “you’re not a shitty *person*...” or “it’s better to say I’ve done shitty *things*” ... As I reached for my phone this morning... like first thing... the habit we all know is not helpful but is hard to break!! I had a notification from @headspace : “As you pick up your phone to do anything, be clear in your intention. Do the thing and put it away.” 👀 I put my phone down. I didn’t need to see my IG notifications or check what emails were waiting for me first thing in the morning. Instead, I sat on the balcony and watched the ocean and pet the dog... it was so much sweeter and *intentional* than just scrolling and seeing what other people were doing and letting that be the energy I bring into my day first thing! ✨⚡️⚡️⚡️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think this had more meaning than just about the phone though. Be clear in your intention. We can stop floundering around saying we don’t know what we are doing. Things can be very very simple. Cause and effect. If we are clear and intentional about our actions (including screen time) we can change so much about the way our day to day (and then bigger picture entire LIFE) works.
