« TOTKV OH-ONVKV » STORY OF THE FIRE - told through Seminole patchwork. + The first photo is a landscape of mountains and trees on fire under a starry sky. + The second photo shows animals (birds) escaping and water being used to extinguish the fire. + I’ve been really preoccupied with everything that I haven’t felt like making art. This piece helped me start to process all the anxiety I’m having right now. + [EDIT]: I couldn’t think of way to articulate what I’ve been feeling and seeing with these fires. How could I describe it without using photos? Because I don’t have any and while it’s the reality of our situation that doesn’t mean seeing those photos of the earth burning aren’t hard to look at. I used patchwork designs as a way to talk about fires that could be “read” as both a story but also as a photograph of the landscape. Not seen this brand before.... after my first sip of broth I thought it was TOO fishy, but then the chilli kicks in & the flavours started to harmonise. However the more I slurped, I noticed the lime citrus flavour became dominant & just a little too tangy for me! It would be different if I was eating a plate of zesty shrimps but in my noodle broth it was a little much for my palate. There’s no doubt the flavours are POWERFUL with this one. I enjoyed them & I love these Noods but I feel that level of zest would work better in a creamy Tom Yum, so based on that I won’t be getting these again.
