Behind the painting: ‘The Triumph of Death’, 2019. Cecily Brown’s exhibition at #blenheimpalace will feature the artist’s largest painting to-date: ‘The Triumph of Death’. The painting takes inspiration from a Sicilian fresco dated c.1446, a century after the Black Death ravaged medieval Europe. Stories of Lord Krishna with Morals : 6️⃣ Krishna killing Aristasura : One day, a massive bull came to Vrindavan and started attacking the villagers. Nobody knew where it had come from. Everybody started running helter-skelter to save their lives. They went to Krishna for help. When Krishna faced the bull, he realised that it was possessed by a demon called Arishthasura. Krishna managed to tackle the bull and pierce its horns! Finally, the demon left the bull’s body and bowed to the Lord. He said that he was a disciple of Lord Brihaspati and had been cursed to become a bull as he had disrespected his teacher. Moral - Always respect your Teacher. Das Bild ist vor zwei Jahren auf einer Wildkräuter-Wanderung entstanden 🍃 Mir ist gerade bewusst geworden, dass ich im nächsten Jahr zum ersten Mal nicht mehr völlig flexibel entscheiden kann, wann und zu welcher Fortbildung ich gehen mag 📚🤓 Für mich gehört es einfach dazu, immer wieder Neues zu lernen - ein bisschen wie ein Hobby 💚 Zwar habe ich die letzten Jahre super viel gemacht und beende jetzt auch im Oktober die Ausbildung in TCM/Akupunktur, doch fühlt es sich so an, als müsste ich bald unbedingt wieder was Neues lernen 😁 Als meine Oma noch lebte, sagte sie immer: „Wie? Du willst schon wieder was lernen? Kind du hast doch jetzt langsam genug gemacht!“ 😉 Das nächste Jahr ist aber auf jeden Fall erst mal für unser kleines Glück reserviert 🍀 In dieser Zeit will und kann ich nicht ständig unterwegs sein, jedoch werde ich bestimmt hin und wieder Online-Webinare buchen. So ganz ohne geht gar nicht! 😳 Und was ich mir für die nächsten Jahre noch vorgenommen habe, ist auf jeden Fall die große Ausbildung in Phytotherapie (Pflanzenheilkunde) zu machen und mehr zum Thema Unterbewusstsein und den Zusammenhang zu körperlichen Erkrankungen zu lernen. This year has been a rollercoaster for all of us to say the least. Today I am emerging out of silence as I’ve taken some much needed time to cry, grieve, reflect, contemplate and listen to the Divine’s voice. . During this time my intention was to come Home to my Self. To be in the forest, with the river, off grid, no reading, no phone, just me, nature and God. . After finding the courage to make some major life decisions and shaking up everything in my physical world, I felt lost, scattered, afraid and alone. Drained of my life force, exhausted and hurting. . I’m so blessed to have amazing clients here in Bend, OR that love me and see me and have extended this beautiful sanctuary for my healing so I may come back into service of others from a place of wholeness. . I feel so rejuvenated, nourished and a peaceful energy and vitality has returned to my whole being. Nothing is “perfect” and I don’t need it to be. There is no destination. वासोटा (व्याघ्रगड) किल्ला :- वासोटा हा भारताच्या महाराष्ट्र राज्यातील एक किल्ला अनुभूती देणारा वासोटा किल्ला अनेक दुर्गयात्रींचा आवडता किल्ला आहे. नैसर्गिक दुर्गमता लाभलेला हा किल्ला जावळीच्या जंगलामधील एक अनोखे दुर्गरत्न आहे. वासोटा ज्या डोंगरावर आहे तेथे वसिष्ठ ऋषींचा एक शिष्य राहत होता, म्हणून त्याने या डोंगराला आपल्या गुरूंचे नाव दिले, अशी आख्यायिका आहे. ’वसिष्ठ’चे पुढे वासोटा झाल असावेे, अशी कल्पना आहे. शिलाहारकालीन राजांनी या डोंगरावर किल्ला बांधला. या किल्ल्याची मूळ बांधणी ही शिलाहार वंशीय दुसर्या भोजराजाने केली असल्याचा उल्लेख आढळतो. वासोट्याचे नाव महाराजांनी व्याघ्रगड असे ठेवले. याच्या दुर्गमतेबद्दल पेशवाईत सुद्धा नोंद आहे. शिवाजी महाराजांच्या काळात या किल्ल्याचा वापर तुरुंग म्हणून केला जात असे. याचे कारण तेथील निर्जन व घनदाट असे अरण्य. पूर्वी तेथे वाघ, बिबट्यांसारखे प्राणीही होते. हे प्राणी अजूनही आहेत. शिवाजी महाराजांनी जावळी जिंकल्यानंतर आसपासचे अनेक किल्ले घेतले, पण वासोटा जरा दूर असल्याने घेतला नाही. पुढे शिवाजी महाराज पन्हाळगडावर अडकले असताना, आपल्या मुखत्यारीत मावळातील पायदळ पाठवून त्यांनी वासोटा किल्ला दि ६ जून १६६० रोजी घेतला. अफझलखाच्या वधानंतर शिवाजी महाराजांच्या दोरोजी या सरदाराने राजापुरावर हल्ला करून तेथील इंग्रजांना अफझलखानाच्या गलबतांचा पत्ता विचारला. त्यांनी सांगितला नाही म्हणून इंग्रजांच्या ग्रिफर्ड नावाच्या अधिकार्याला अटक केली व वासोट्यावर ठेवले. .सन १६६१ मध्ये पकडलेल्या इंग्रज कैद्यांपैकी रेव्हिंग्टन, फॅरन व सॅम्युअल यांना वासोट्यावर कैदेत ठेवण्यात आले होते. पुढे १६७९ मध्ये वासोटा किल्ल्यावर २६,००० रुपये सापडले. पुढच्या काळात १७०६ मध्ये ताई तेलिणीने हा किल्ला आपल्या हातात घेतला. पुढील वर्षी पेशव्यांचे सेनापती बापू गोखले यांनी ताई तेलिणीबरोबर लढाई केली. आठदहा महिन्यांच्या प्रखर झुंजीनंतर ताई तेलिणीचा पराजय झाला आणि १७३० मध्ये वासोटा किल्ला बापू गोखल्यांच्या हाती पडला. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Vasota Fort :- Vasota Fort (also called Vyaghragad (व्याघ्रगड)) is located in Satara district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. After Aurangzeb captured & killed Sambhaji, Rajaram ascended the throne. Soon after, Rajaram & Tarabai were forced to leave from Raigad as the Mughals army laid siege to the capital. Rajaram was of frail health. It was due to Tarabai’s perseverance that they were able to hold off the Mughal siege for many years. In those difficult days, Rani Tarabai not only held the fort but also directed fight against Mughals in far off Maharashtra. She was aided by able generals like Santaaji Ghorpade & Dhanaji Jadhav. Rani Tarabai later faced a succession war in the hands Shahu, son of Sambhaji, who forced her to retreat and created the kingdom of Kolhapur. Во время карантина было время подумать о жизненных ценностях и оказалось, что их не так уж много. Здоровье (физическое и, не менее важное, психическое), дети-семья, работа и путешествия. И именно путешествий не хватает больше всего. Вспомнила, что ровно год назад в это время была в Казани (по приглашению чудесной Наили Шаймиевой). Казань запомнилась людьми и неподдельным интересом к профессии, щедрым гостеприимством (везде с утра накрыты столы) и Университетом. КМУ один из старейших и крупных образовательных университетов России, основанный в 1814 году. В университете кроме обучающих корпусов, оснащенных по последнему слову техники (ах, как бы пригодилась сейчас вебинарная комната) есть несколько музеев. Здесь кроме бережно собранного реквизита, на каждой стенке знакомый портрет и после экскурсии осталось стойкое впечатление, что вся русская медицина корнями из Казани. Удалось посидеть за «партой» Ленина и подумать, что если бы его не отчислили за «бузотерство» возможно и наша жизнь бы сложилась бы иначе. Узнать, про Максима Горького который подрабатывал в пекарне на соседней улице и изучал пациентов Бехтерева, и в какой то момент сам стал пациентом клиники (после попытки самоубийства). Кстати, профессор, осмотрев его раненную грудь отказался от него как от безнадежного. Спас Горького молодой врач, удаливший пулю из спины. И как тут не согласится с его цитатой: «Физически я родился в Нижнем Новгороде, духовно в Казани. Казань — любимейший из моих университетов». - @_kristina_badalyan on Instagram
The Trevi Fountain may be huge and seeming my extravagant, but a huge architecturally significant detail is that the design used was actually the least expensive version and part of the reason Salvi’s design was even chosen in the first place. Furthermore, the fountain marked a historically significant time when the lotto or lottery/gambling was reintroduced. On the right Christ calls to James and John, sons of Zebedee, who are on the boat.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⚓ In the foreground, the culmination of this ideal narrative triangle are Peter and Andrew are now kneeling to receive the solemn blessing of Christ. The total concentration of the two apostles, and the fact that neither of them look Jesus in the eyes, makes one think that Ghirlandaio wanted to suggest a process of interior transformation in these men.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 🔎The lakeside landscape with gray, white and silver tones, fades towards a background illuminated by the light of dawn.
