- Its so strange to me that a courtroom will not allow a camera to document testimony, though an artist is just fine. Sorry public, 18 megapixel hi-resolution images just would disrupt the courts process, so heres a cartoon caricature of what an artist saw when she sat through the examination.

This slide of a perspective drawing by Helmut Jacoby of Norman Fosters proposed extension to the Whitney Museum, New York (late 1970s) pictures the remarkable giant triangulated structure that acted as a rigid base for the tower rising above. In contrast to Breuers earlier building, Norman Foster wanted the new Whitney galleries to be open, with a full-height glazed atrium giving on to Madison Avenue. The visual excitement of these all-glazed spaces is captured in this detail from Helmut Jacobys perspective drawing, which looks north along Madison Avenue. #NFFArchive #NormanFosterFoundation - @normanfosterfdn on Instagram

Happy 55th Birthday #TorontoCityHall! Did you know that the design for New City Hall was led by Finnish architect Viljo Revell, after an international competition was held by City Council? Sadly, Revell passed away before the building was completed in 1965. To learn more about the history, design and construction of New City Hall view our online exhibit, A Step Forward in Time: Toronto’s New City Hall (link in bio). #OnThisDay in 1870, the Palmer House Hotel opened for business. While it has existed in three iterations, it has long been the pinnacle of grandeur and luxury in Chicago and was for decades the hotel of choice for visiting presidents, dignitaries, and businesspeople. The crown jewel in the holdings of real-estate developer Potter Palmer, it was a wedding present to his wife, Bertha.
