Их названия наводят на размышления: «Экстаз», «Зевс», «Седьмое небо»... - Греховное место, - подумаете вы и будете в чём-то правы😁 ⠀ Эти дома называются кабаньяс и представляют из себя дешевый мотель, где можно снять номер с почасовой оплатой. В целом, неплохой вариант для водителей, чтобы поспать, или бюджетных туристов, но основные их клиенты – пары, желающие уединиться в укромном месте. Это могут быть подростки, живущие с родителями и жаждущие романтического свидания друг с другом, любовники, клиент с проституткой или семейная пара, которая хочет провести время вдвоем без детей и родственников. В общем, это хижины для огня и страсти❤️🔥 ⠀ У кабаньяс есть особенности, отличающие их от обычных мотелей. Главное - это гарантия анонимности. У каждого номера есть своя закрытая парковка. Вы заезжаете на нее, нажимаете на кнопку, и металлическая дверь плотно за вами закрывается. Оттуда сразу заходите в номер. Располагаются они на выезде из города, на магистралях или улицах, где случайно не проедешь. Доминиканцы шутят, что жена может застукать на въезде в кабанью только в том случае, если она сама оттуда выезжает😂 ⠀ Номера маленькие и простые, часто без окон, но со всем необходимым. На эту тему у местных много лайфхаков, например мылом из кабаньяс лучше не пользоваться, оно пахнет везде одинаково. И тайна может быть раскрыта😂 Главный атрибут номера – маленькое окошко, через которое происходит оплата и все необходимое общение с сотрудниками. Конечно, также инкогнито😁 Двери между спальней и ванной комнатой может не быть, нужно помнить об этом заранее😇 А в более дорогих номерах есть и джакузи, и телевизор, и минибар. ⠀ Кабаньяс очень популярны среди доминиканцев и являются культурной ценностью этой карибской страны, как пиво или бейсбол. The ocean is a beauty, but she can also be a monster. I had every intention of making todays post about my fun family trip to Florida, but as usual, 2020 had other plans. This evening my home state of Louisiana as well as Texas will be faced with a brutal catastrophe that will forever change many peoples lives. I am no stranger to this strange feeling of terror/anxiety/hopelessness as someone who grew up on the outside of New Orleans. Its been 15 years almost to the day that Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on Louisiana, and I cant help but remember all the same terrible sensations that I felt in 2005. To anyone experiencing that same fear, I am so terribly sorry, my heart goes out to you. To anyone wondering how to help, I encourage you to not only pray for the areas in Hurricane Lauras wake, but to also actively search for organizations to either volunteer for or donate to. Exciting personal update! 🎉 I haven’t posted on here in a bit because I’ve been working really hard behind the scenes. Today, I launched @theroundtripcollective, it’s the first-ever program for students/recent grads who want to turn their love for travel into a full-time dream career (just like I did!). My members will have me as a mentor, connect with leading travel professionals, gain a like-minded crew, and learn the ins and outs of the different travel career paths they can take. This idea was born during quarantine when one of my Maldives videos went viral on tiktok (😂) and I started getting flooded with messages from college students asking about how I got into the travel industry and how they can work towards that goal. That’s when it clicked. I knew I had to do this and mold the travel industry’s upcoming generation in a time we need it most💕 I owe SO much thanks to my online business coach @lifebydulce who taught me how to take this original idea, create an actual course, launch it and sell it all within a month. It’s literally a dream come true and I couldn’t have done this without her guidance and support. It was the best decision to invest in myself, no matter how scary it is. Afuri! This ramen place is pre good and it has a cool way of ordering food! But sometimes the method can be quite inconvenient and it is hard for the servers to locate the tables. It also ask for tips before the actual meal as it is prepay so it’s hard to tip fairly. It had really nice broth which is comparable to Horin which is great. The TanTan noodle has really rich soup and it is like a mix of Japanese and shanghai flavour. This place can be pretty expensive though with most ramen prices at $17.00. Kakiyuki turns out amazing Japanese desserts and specializes in Japanese shaved ice, otherwise known as kakigori. Located in between trendy Tulum and World Wonder Chichén Itzá, the ancient Mayan city of Cobá sits on a massive area of jungle with ruins and a pyramid thats actually the tallest one in the Yucatan peninsula! It was also said this city was run by women! . If youve ever visited Mayan, Aztec, or Incan ruins, youll know that theres a strong energy feeling around them. I definitely felt that here! And also moments where I felt like I was transported to another time and place! . Oh but about the photos! This is actually a boutique hotel, completely hidden amongst the dirt roads and small local houses with chickens in the yards. I only heard about it because of a friend back in LA! . Сёрфинг, различные мастер-классы, бизнес-завтраки, духовные практики, тусовки или просто прогулки у океана - каждый найдёт себе что-то по душе. ⠀ ✔️ Хочется сменить обстановку? Сел на байк - и вот тебе вулканы, белые пляжи, клубничные поля и дельфины на рассвете. Tofu Chawanmushi is something I crave often and can whip up easily with what I stock in my kitchen. This is not a typical chawanmushi (dashi-based savory custard), but it’s basically pure soymilk (I use rich soymilk made of 100% Japanese soybeans, available at @toirokitchen ), eggs, and a little sea salt, whisked together and steamed. I sometimes make it plain or add some fillings like shiitake mushrooms and edamame, which I did this time. Crab is good, too. This chawanmushi has the fresh tofu flavor with rich custard texture. I enjoy this both hot or chilled. I like to serve this with a quick Saikyo Miso Sauce (premium Saikyo Miso just got back in stock, too!), but you can serve with your choice of sauce or toppings (or without any sauce is also good!). - Equipment: Donabe steamer, Mushi Nabe (large) - (Ingredients - for 4 appetizer servings) 2 large eggs 2 C (500 ml) soymilk 1 tsp moshio seaweed salt (or sea salt) 2 medium rehydrated dried shiitake mushrooms, trimmed and thinly-sliced 1/4 C (60 ml) shelled edamame 1/3 cup (80 ml) dashi 2 T Saikyo miso 2/3 tsp kuzuko (kudzu starch), dissolved in 2 tsp extra dashi or water - (Procedure) 1. Get the #donabe steamer ready. Whisk together the eggs, soymilk, and salt in a bowl until smooth. Strain and pour into a shallow bowl which can fit the #donabe steamer. Add the shiitake. 2. Carefully place the bowl on the steam grate. Cover with lid and steam for 10 min over low heat (but you can still see a slight steam coming out of the lid’s hole). Add the edamame (so they won’t sink in the bottom of the custard). Cover again and cook for additional 10 min or so, until a skewer inserted comes out clean. 3. To make the sauce, combine the dashi and Saikyo miso in a small saucepan and whisk until smooth. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn down the heat to a very gentle simmer, and gradually stir in the kuzuko solution until the sauce has thickened and is smooth, about 15 to 30 sec. 4. Remove the bowl from the grate and serve immediately with the sauce. It notes that anyone that enjoys avocado bbt, would enjoy this Bingsu (🙋🏻♀️) I personally loved it since I’m a huge avocado fan! The avocados were perfectly ripe and the vanilla ice cream on top gives it the perfect amount of sweetness! This week was a whirlwind - We went from this cute little cabana or as we called it our “home above the water” to flights cancelled, scrambling to find our way stateside (Thanks #hurricaneLaura) 🌊, followed by delayed flights into Ft Lauderdale, a rental car to Orlando - to pick up OUR car and finally drive home = 12 hour travel day. 😅 It was all such a blur, but SO worth it for the time we were able to spend together, completely secluded from the world. If you are on the fence about traveling right now, I definitely recommend it. There are many places you can travel and do so safely. Instagram Tip Number 𝐼𝓃𝒻𝒾𝓃𝒾𝓉𝓎 😜 ::::: Take lots of photos! ::::: My 7-Day Posting Challenge still has a few days left, and some have told me that although they would like to post every day, they dont have enough photos ::::: Obviously Instagram and photography go hand in hand, so if youre out there taking photos (whether theyre of you, whether youre traveling, whether youre just taking photos of flowers in your backyard) take TONS of photos so youll always have something to post! ::::: Its been said that your followers only see 1 out of every 3 photos you post, so if youre worrying about being repetative, dont! ::::: One thing Ive learned is to take a ton of photos in one location, because no one is really out there traveling enough to be able to not post from a location over and over again. Ill even post the same exact photo over and over again, if its been a couple of months ::::: Its all about working smarter, not harder. Growing an Instagram account is a long-ass marathon, not a sprint. I personally share mostly just Tarzan and I on here & sometimes when I just post about myself or something else besides acro yoga it doesn’t do as great and it’s makes me not want to do/share those things as much. How messed up is that?? 😝 ⠀ I just watched the social dilemma & it’s opened my eyes (even more) to how detrimental social media can be on our mental health and happiness. Suicide rates and cutting rates skyrocketing in middle school and teens. I honestly don’t know what kind of person or where I would be if I had social media like this in middle school?!? And I just want to speak up and encourage EVERYONE to share what they truly love sharing without the attachment of how many likes it will get. That’s confidence. That’s being authentic. 休日のエッセイ『 おと。のお料理 』 . 豊かなご縁の巡り合わせの中で、 おと。のランチそしてデザートを味わっていただく日々に感謝しております。 ケーキを作り始めたのは、ちょうど７年程前でした。 色々と人生の節目を迎え、東京から奈良に戻って来て、ちょっと(いいえ、だいぶと)こころが塞ぎがちだった頃に、自宅の台所で毎日ひとつケーキか焼き菓子を作ることが、当時唯一のこころの拠り所でした。 当時、少し(いいえ、だいぶと)人とコミュニケーションを取ることも億劫になってしまって、おしゃべりも、どうもこうも言葉で上手に人に自分の気持ちを伝えることが難しい時期がありました。 そんな時に、「表現できる方法が、お料理しかなかった。」、というのが正直な気持ちです。 それは、今も変わらないことかもしれません。 人に会うのが億劫だったこともあり、お料理教室も行けませんでしたし、お財布にも余裕があったわけではありませんでしたので、私にとってのお料理の師は図書館の『本』でした。それが、当時の精いっぱいでした。 ✳︎ しかし、そこからお料理と無縁だった私が、一筋の光を見出していくことになります。 ✳︎ いつの間にか、自宅のお台所は実験室となり、 気付けば、お料理が自身の生きるチカラになっていることに気付いたのは、それから数年後のこと。 何のために作るのか、誰のために作るのか、 お料理は、私に何を教えようとしてくれているのか。 そんな哲学的なことにまで思いがひろがっていった先に、 それは、ひととひとを繋ぐ表現であることに気付きました。 お料理そのものから、醸し出されているもの。 お客さまにとって、それがやさしさや豊かさやあたたかさみたいなものを感じていただけたら、うれしく思います。 おと。がランチを数量限定にしているのも、お料理をお召し上がりくださるお客さまの御顔や表情を想って、ご用意させていただきたいから。 明日からのおと。も、笑顔とやさしさがひろがりますように。 そろそろ、おと。にて、お料理の会をはじめたいと思っています。 物語のような人生を、みなさんと感じ合えたら幸いです。 . 🐇🌿🌸✨ . おと。のオープンにあたり、ランチプレートはご予約のお客様を最優先に、１日につくる数を決めております。一定の人数に達しましたら、ランチを終了させていただくことをご了承ください。 みなさまが心地良くお過ごしいただける環境つくりを目指しております。 それにあたり、ランチをご利用のお客さまはご予約いただくことをおすすめいたします。ぜひお気軽にお電話orメールをください。 . I actually planned on going to more places but time was running short 😢. However, I’m happy that I got to try the bingsu at Plus 82. The café is quite small and very popular, so I’m glad we quickly got a table. I already knew I wanted to order the green tea/ matcha bingsu plus I got a yuzu ade since it was super warm that day and I needed sth to quench my thirst. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The employees were very attentive and brought out three spoons, even though I ordered one for myself. Matcha was an acquired taste for the others, so I did end up eating the whole bowl myself 🤣. Suffice it to say that the portion could easily do for 2-3 people. What really surprised me was their unbeatable price💥 considering the fact that Paris is a capital city and a tourist magnet. In Ddorf you’d only get a tiny portion for that amount of money. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Second surprise: they didn’t cheap out on matcha powder and added loads to the ice, even including an additional scoop of green tea ice cream in a cup 😍. And if the bingsu isn’t sweet enough for you, you also get an extra cup of condensed milk to add more sweetness to your liking. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀. I was sooo full after eating it, that I was barely able to finish the yuzu ade 😆.
