This slide of a perspective drawing by Helmut Jacoby of Norman Fosters proposed extension to the Whitney Museum, New York (late 1970s) pictures the remarkable giant triangulated structure that acted as a rigid base for the tower rising above. In contrast to Breuers earlier building, Norman Foster wanted the new Whitney galleries to be open, with a full-height glazed atrium giving on to Madison Avenue. Dean Gardens, West Ealing - 1984 A photo which looks like it is possibly taken from the upstairs of the West Ealing McDonalds. The park looks clean, unlike the present day. Dean Gardens is due to be closed soon to make it more green and park friendly for people. Its meant to be ready for 2021 but expect delays due to the current situation. Red phone boxes are always lovely to see in any pictures and the pavemente look a lot wider. The car park next to the park has shifted across to the right. Upper left you can still see the stairwell and Deco style porthole window on the third floor where the infamous chainsaw shower scene went down. I snapped the current pic from about where Manolo and the boys where parked. And yes this is where the scene concludes as Hector the Toad meets his maker courtesy of Montanas piece. SRA were built in 1953, over the years everyone from Irene Marie Modeling Agency to Johnny Rockets ended up in this space. When it was finally sold and redone about five years ago, they kept the facade while demoing and rebuilding the rest into CVS. El incendio de El Sótano en 1957 significó una gran pérdida para la vida artística local pero a finales de la década de 1950 con la conclusión parcial del edificio FIUC, emplazado en la esquina de las calles Barros Arana con Caupolicán y obra de los arquitectos Osvaldo Cáceres, Alejandro Rodríguez, Gabriela González junto con Edmundo Buddemberg, se abrió un nuevo espacio, la Galería Universitaria, actualmente conocida como David Stitchkin Brannover, la cual rápidamente se convirtió en un referente clave de los espacios de exhibición artística, más aún después del terremoto de 1960 que implicó la pérdida de dos importantes espacios universitarios asociados al arte, los talleres de Víctor Lamas con Caupolicán y el edificio de OHiggins 850 donde funcionaba la Escuela de Periodismo, el cual era utilizado para exhibiciones temporales. Mañana en el espacio que Historia Arquitectónica de Concepción posee en el @matinalnuestracasa de Canal Regional estaremos conversando de este tema, (hoy hubo problemas técnicos y se tuvo que posponer). Las primeras 2 fotografías son del Archivo Fotográfico de la Universidad de Concepción y la última del archivo de Eugenio Brito, cuando las figuras de Las Tres Pascualas fueron exhibidas en la Galería Universitaria antes de ser montadas en el mural, único vestigio del edificio FIUC original, el cual fue remodelado después del terremoto del 2010 con materiales inferiores y una calidad de diseño que dista del lenguaje original del edificio.
