I may be biased but I have to give a HUGE shoutout to our team right here. @ohiouniversitypowerlifting team spotted and loaded our entire event. These guys busted their tail with set up, spotting, loading, and tear down. They were on it with every lifter for every attempt. These guys really stole the show and I couldn’t be more proud to have them on our team. We have been very fortunate to sponsor and support the Ohio University Powerliftng Team each and every meet with them being apart for both of our 2019 USPA Non Tested National Championships and 2020 USPA Drug Tested National Championships. There are so many conflicting ideas and facts in this industry. I will learn something from one educator and then read blog post from another well known artist that directly contradicts it. It’s because this industry is so young. I’ve literally spent thousands on courses and the biggest thing I’ve learned is.. (besides basic shit) everyone does it different. Do what works for you!!! If you hear one thing and then hear a direct contradiction... just try it for yourself. Didn’t work? Don’t do it. I see artists all the time posting and talking about lash wrapping. I learned it in an expensive course. Do I do it? Nope. Do I have retention issues? Nope. That’s all. Learn basics from people that are better and then forge your own way. We can work on deeper goals like your relationship with food and improving daily habits.⁣ ⁣ You get progressive adjustments that will keep you moving forward towards your goal, and the accountability to keep you going when you start to doubt yourself. He enjoys coaching college students because they are receptive, always willing to try, and never say never. His favorite part about Club Womens Rugby is that they always make an effort, have high energy, a positive attitude, are passionate, are coachable, and have a strong work ethic. Outside of coaching, he is a motorcycle Officer for the United States Park Police, which is the urban law enforcement division of the National Park Service. He enjoys biking (he commutes by bicycle), hot yoga, and swimming. This is Dawn. Dawn is someone inspiring you need to read about right now, especially if you are feeling hopeless. We met Dawn when researching our book, and found ourselves utterly taken with this giggly, energetic and fun filled character, but soon discovered it hasn’t always been this way. In 2012 after a spinal chord injury Dawn was struggling so much, she was in constant chronic pain and was using a wheelchair to get around, she became isolated and depressed and even attempted to take her own life. Being stuck in an endless cycle of pain and frustration led her to feel there was no alternative. She found a charity called @thistle_foundation who helped her through this, they suggested she tried outdoor swimming. She did and the rest is history. With gentle encouragement from new found friends and relief from pain in the cold water she started to feel better, more positive, less pain and like life was worth living again. And live it she has! She came on strength to strength, building up her body through swimming, then walking, finding friendship and support and one day she joked that she would swim the channel one day. Well that day is tomorrow! Dawn is swimming at 9am tomorrow and raising money for the charity who helped her get back on her feet again. I’m going to attempt to update live on her progress with a direct link to her support team on the boat.
