August zur Welt kam - und inzwischen teuflisch schnell auf der Steppe unterwegs ist-, hat er nun gestreifte Verstärkung bekommen. Seine Halbschwester Lilly wurde am 7. September geboren. Zurzeit erobern die beiden Jungtiere noch am Vormittag ihr Reich und lernen vorsichtig ihre WG-Mitbewohner, die Impalas, Thomsongazellen und Elenantilopen, kennen. Übrigens: Von allen (Wild-)Pferdearten ist das Steppenzebra am weitesten verbreitet. Trotzdem wird diese Art von der Weltnaturschutzunion IUCN als „potentiell gefährdet“ eingestuft, da die Bestände immer weiter abnehmen. Ein Problem sind beispielsweise die Weidezäune, die den Tieren bei ihrer Wanderung den Weg versperren oder den Zugang zu Trinkwasser verhindern. Arizona Road Trip: Jerome Jerome was founded in 1876 and was once the 4th largest town in Arizona Territory. The population peaked at 15,000 but is now a mere 450. Jerome is an old mining town turned into a trendy, eclectic hilltop artist community. Not far from Sedona, Jerome boasts sweeping views and many art studios, galleries, and saloons/biker bars. The drive to Jerome is not one you’ll soon forget given the narrow and steep ascent, but the views once you arrive are breathtaking. Should you be a fan of ghost stories, be sure to stay at The Jerome Grand Hotel which sits atop the hill overlooking the Verde Valley. Formerly the United Verde Hospital, the five-story Spanish Mission-style building projects the coolest Frankensteinesque-castle vibe in Arizona. The hospital closed in 1950 and remained empty for decades until it was reinvented as a hotel. If you are looking for a great place to eat, the Asylum restaurant at the Jerome Grand Hotel occupies the lower floor. Confession: I’ve given up on my goals more than once 😅 I’ve convinced myself that it’s too hard or that my goals aren’t as important as X, Y and Z. I’ve found plenty of excuses/reasons in my time to validate those thoughts, all because I was lacking one thing... purpose 💞 - We’ve heard it all before - motivation isn’t permanent. It packs it’s bags 🧳 and books the earliest flight to nowhere 🛫 at the first sign of discomfort. - Purpose on the other hand acts as an anchor ⚓️ despite the wild winds or crazy current, it keeps you connected to your vessel (your values, your dreams, your who, your what, your why) and the sand at the bottom of the sea (your end goal) 🌊 There are times where the variables move it from it’s original place but due to it’s stubborn and disciplined nature, it never strays far. - Pushing our boundaries is never comfortable, it goes against our natural instincts to find homeostasis (stability, consistency, equilibrium) ⚖️ This is a huge factor as to why when edging closer to the end goal, the fight in you to continue begins to dwindle. Getting your body composition to a place it’s never been before or your deadlift PB to double body weight is a LUXURY, your body wants homeostasis 🍃 The only issue with homeostasis is that nothing worthwhile grows there 🌱 - Take it from me, don’t rely on something that might not be there tomorrow ✌🏼and put your energy into something that will never leave your side ✨ Find the purpose behind your goal, create structure and develop routines to support the journey towards it. When I was four years old I sat on a horse for the very first time. Most of my childhood I lived my life dreaming of going pro and riding with the best in the world. I wanted to train and work with every horse I could get my hands on. Somewhere between growing up and graduating college I lost sight of chasing my dream - even typing it out now feels daunting. If there is one thing that 2020 has taught me, it’s that there is nothing wrong with simple, pure, faith in believing that God puts a desire in your heart for a reason. For the first time in my life I’m cracking open the door to a future that the real world told me was impossible. Today I took a step towards a dream that maybe, just maybe, my 10-year-old self would have approved of. 2020 is the year that God told me to follow my heart. Do you see anything different with the physique of one of these horses? The Onaqui Catalogue with others, works hard to document the horses on the range. The black gelding in front is actually a domestic horse. He was first seen in December with shoes on, which he has since lost. He kept to himself, but as you can see he has now integrated himself with this band. The bay stud is Evander, OQ11brS The older perlino mare Angel/Norma Jean, is OQ101cM The younger cream mare, Creampuff, is her half~sister (same sire) OQ159cM Currently, the domestic gelding does not have a range name. It is thought possibly by his looks, he might have some thoroughbred in him, but without his history it is hard to know. *मुख्यमंत्री ने किया प्रदेश के पहले पिरूल से विद्युत उत्पादन परियोजना का लोकार्पण। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र सिंह रावत ने विकास खण्ड डुण्डा के ग्राम चकोन धनारी में 25 लाख लागत की 25 किलोवाट क्षमता की पिरूल से विद्युत उत्पादन की पहली परियोजना का लोकार्पण किया। इस अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि पर्यावरणीय चक्र को आग से बचाने के लिए यह परियोजना बेहद उपयोगी होगी। जंगलों में आग लगने के कारण जहां अनेक पेड, औषधीय पौधें, वनसपत्तियां नष्ट हो जाती थी वहीं बड़ी संख्या में जंगली जानवर भी प्रभावित होते हैं। पिरूल से विद्युत उत्पादन परियोजना के बनने से वनों एवं जीव जन्तुओं को आग से सुरक्षा होगी। तथा इससे रोजगार के अवसर भी पैदा होगें। अभी राज्य को 1 हजार करोड़ की बिजली क्रय करनी पड़ रही है, इस प्रकार की परियोजना के बनने से राज्य को आर्थिक मदद मिलेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश भर में 23 लाख मिट्रीक टन सालाना पिरूल उत्पादन होता है, जिससे लगभग 200 मेगावाट बिजली उत्पादित की जा सकती है। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि राज्य के सुदूरवर्ती क्षेत्रों में कालावासा काफी मात्रा में पाया जाता है। इसमें औषधीय तत्व विद्यमान हैं। यह विकरण किरणों से भी बचाता है तथा एंटीबायटिक हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने किसानों से कालावासा की खेती करने का आवहा्न किया। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्रदेश के सीमान्त क्षेत्रों में नेटवर्किंग की समस्या को देखते हुए 250 सेटेलाईट फोन दिये गए है ताकि सीमान्त वासियों को नेटवर्क को लेकर कोई समस्या न हो। इसी तरह प्रदेश भर में जहां कनेक्टिविटी नहीं है तथा टावर लगाये जाने हैं वहां टावर लगाने के लिए सरकार द्वारा 40 लाख रूपये स्वीकृत किये हैं। सीमान्त वासियों की समस्याओं के निस्तारण के लिए बीएडीपी की तर्ज पर मुख्यमंत्री सीमान्त क्षेत्र विकास निधि में इस वर्ष 20 करोड़ रूपये की व्यवस्था की गई है, ताकि उनकी समस्याओं को हल किया जा सके। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि सामरिक दृष्टि से सीमान्त क्षेत्रों में स्थानीय समुदाय का होना अति आवश्यक है। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र ने कहा कि प्रदेश में जल जीवन मिशन के अन्तर्गत हर घर नल द्वारा जल देना है। इस वर्ष में 10 लाख लोगों को पानी का कनेक्शन देने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। इस हेतु हर जिले की दैनिक रूप से मॉनिटरिंग की जा रही हैं। ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में कुल 14 लाख कनेक्शन दिये जाने है। वर्तमान में तीन माह के भीतर 51 हजार कनेक्शन दिये जाने का लक्ष्य रखा गया था जिसमें आज तक 67 हजार कनेक्शन दिए जा चुके हैं। अटल आयुष्मान योजना के अन्तर - @dd_prime_news_uttarakhand on Instagram

En daarnaast heeft mijn vriend ook een enorme reislust. Wie weet ga ik nog wel een keertje alleen, maar dan sluit mijn vriend vast snel aan en reizen we samen door. . ↡ 3. Wat is je ultieme (reis)tip voor andere reiswijven? Tijdens reizen kan ik dingen enorm loslaten, omdat ik heb ontdekt dat dingen altijd anders lopen dan van te voren gedacht. Mijn tip is dan ook, plan niet teveel van te voren, leg niet teveel vast. De mooiste plekjes waar ik ben geweest waren namelijk niet gepland! Vraag aan locals naar leuke plekjes voor je volgende bestemming, zo maak je vaak bijzondere ontmoetingen mee. I have so many pieces i have done that have special inspiration to me. Each one brings back the moment I knew I could paint it, the friends that made it possible, and the landscape of the many wonderful ranches I have been blessed to visit. This piece was the cover of Western Horseman in March of 2015. It is Marty Crim of the LX Ranch in Amarillo. Marty is a great hand that can do anything and everything a cowboy does. Not just riding a fine horse he trained to gather cattle, but getting his hands dirty making things happen day in and day out. I’ve had many laughs and even more memories at the LX. Earlier this month, Governor DeSantis and the Cabinet approved a Florida Forever land acquisition and three conservation easements protecting over 3,800 acres. These land acquisitions will enhance natural and cultural resources, improve water quality and provide expanded recreational opportunities. Heres the details: 🌳The Etoniah/Cross Florida Greenway Florida Forever Project includes 1,901 acres in Marion County. This will become part of Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway State Recreation and Conservation Area. This vital land acquisition will protect wildlife including the black bear and scrub jay while also providing expanded recreational opportunities. 🌳The easements total 1,951 acres and include parcels in Peace River Refuge, Seven Runs Creek and Myakka Ranchlands. These new additions will ensure protections for critical aquatic and wildlife areas, water quality, wildlife and habitats for endangered plants. This is an acrylic painting I did from one of my trips to the Babbitt Ranch. I always come home with thousands of photos for reference. The friendships I have with each and every person on the ranch is priceless. It’s those bonds I have made that give each of my paintings a special layer of reality and passion. Often the old methods are the best . . The Moors who ruled Andalucia for centuries were so skilled at their farming methods and their use of water. The Lecrin Valley is a landscape of terraced almonds and olives as a result . . This terracing means that when it rains (and when it rains in the valley, it RAINS!) the water doesn’t run straight off the hill, but forms build-ups along the terrace edges that soak into the earth, watering the trees around them. This system is further enhanced by the acequia system, which are networks of mountain irrigation channels (more on that soon!) . . As the almond orchard at our finca is on a natural sloping site we are looking into building up ‘terraces’ and using a permaculture swale system for the irrigation. Using the natural rainfall to irrigate the almonds will mean we will save water... such a precious commodity. And we won’t need ugly plastic pipes running all over the almond orchard! Its National Park Week!!! Did you know there are over 150 #NationalHistoricLandmarks located in national park units? These four structures were designed by architect and interior designer Mary Jane Colter, built by Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway, and managed by its concessioner, the Fred Harvey Company. Hopi House (1905), modeled after a Hopi pueblo, was built to merchandise Indigenous handicrafts in a historically accurate environment. Hermits Rest, a refreshment stand, and the Lookout, both dating from 1914, were designed to appear as if they had grown out of the rocky landscape. Colters last major structure on the South Rim, Desert View Watchtower, was completed in 1932, long after the establishment of @grandcanyonnps . Modeled after an Anasazi tower, it has notable interior spaces based on circular forms. All four structures respect their incomparable settings and reflect the cultural heritage of the area. This winter was definitely not what I had expected. I never would have guessed that I would be backing and training both a mule and an Arabian. Those two have taught me so much and really shown me what Im capable of training wise. I havent trained a horse from the ground up since Takoda about a decade ago. . Zahra and Karlee both have a long ways to go but Im so happy with their progress over the last 6 months. At the moment with Zahra, most of her training is focused on physical conditioning and teaching her how to be more balanced and aware of her feet (particularly when going down steep terrain). Karlees primary training focus is still gaining confidence when on solo trail rides and working through her bolting tendencies. Karlee has gotten so good at riding in an arena and she and I have gone out for up to 4 miles on our own. . These girls have been teaching me as much as Ive been teaching them. Its been incredibly rewarding to watch them both grow so much, especially since neither of them are youngsters (Zahra is nearly 11 and Karlee is 8). Losing Shyla was and still is awful, but I know its given both Zahra and Karlee a chance at a new life and myself a whole lot of personal growth. . On a side note, filming while riding Zahra at a lope on a winding trail is still mildly nerve wracking because she doesnt neck rein yet. So there was minimal one-handed steering while filming. Earlier this month, the crew out at Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge was able to open two pre-existing side channels! Tom Koerner reported even seeing a large Brown Trout utilizing one channel. •••• Over the coming years, 2-3 channels will be opened per year in hopes to increase juvenile trout habitat.
