💎 Translating Culture Leads to Success: The most important thing that I understood and did in fashion was to translate culture. I did that by not creating styles solely from my own mind, but by collaborating with clients to capture how they wanted their style to be. DIY ALOE VERA INFUSED OIL💚 ⠀ Aloe Vera is know for all of their great benefits so I was sooooo happy when I ran across @iamjustyaya YouTube video on her making DIY Aloe Vera Infused Oil. I couldn’t wait to try this out. I used 1/2 of an Aloe Vera Leaf and 1/2 cup of Avocado Oil. I infused the Aloe Vera in the Avocado oil on medium heat for 2 hours. I used cheesecloth to strain the oil.⠀ **Yaya also mentioned that avocado oil has a very high smoke point which is great because once you heat the oil it’s nutrients will not be lost. The Aloe Vera nutrients are being extracted as it is being infused in the heated oil. ⠀ **I’m using this oil for my hair. (I’ll apply it after applying my leave in). I honestly didn’t think y’all needed this video, so I never posted it. Fortunately I held onto it. ⠀ Lol, but the bad news is I didn’t film the takedown of the finger coils that I saw a few of you were wondering how that process went for me. ⠀ My takedown for the finger coils was very similar to the way I took down my mini twist. I had a few that were a little matted so I thought this would be the perfect demo in how I combat that. ⠀ I would highly recommend that while you have these type of protective styles, to avoid making a situation worse is to keep your hair moisturized (works for me) ⠀ Mist the hair with water first and then add your fav moisturizer. I love @lusterspink Pink Oil Moisturizer. Then you can proceed with carefully untwisting the hair (try not to get frustrated) lol ⠀ I used Nairobi mousse and @lusterspink edge control in the video. ⠀ If you’re rocking #minitwist or #minibraids you can definitely rock a bomb braid out or twist out after the take down until you are ready to wash. ⠀ #naturalhair #protectivestyles #houstonblogger #hairtutorial - @jd_winters on Instagram

I started painting 20 months ago...and initially I was scared to even try anything outside an acrylic pour. I didn’t want to mess the canvas up. I would sketch things on canvas and leave them because I didn’t think I knew enough or had enough skill to paint them... then one day in January I did and the painting came out better than expected. Since April 2020, I’ve sold and shipped over 150 paintings (35 originals, 15 commissions, and 100 prints) all over the globe. If God could open this door for me at age 39 what won’t God do for you. I’m sharing this story because not only in this have a learned not to doubt myself I’ve also learned how to be a better man and leader. I’m going to be offering classes in November teaching my abstract technique and how it’s helped me become a better leader.
