My ego mind is still working through the programming of societies constructs that I “need to have ‘one’ thing I find interesting, do the typical school thing to educate myself on it, & then stick with it forever. Fuck ALL of it. I’m doing what I choose to, at the time of my life I choose to do it because I AM a sovereign being. .... okay, well.. I’m not 100% set into that energy yet😂 but, I know deep down that’s what I believe to be true for me. • It’s a process, a confusing one at that, to redefine what makes sense for your life & your desires. We are told from birth what we should or shouldn’t be doing. By some means, it’s good because it helps guide us.. but in other ways, it’s suppressed our ability to FEEL into what we want out of life instead of what others want for us. So in the process of dismantling these outdated societal belief systems, it always comes down to remembering that I am an energetic being. I have a physical body yes, but I am not limited to doing or trying anything because... thanks to physics, they say that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, just transferred. & if I am innately energy then why shouldn’t I be allowed to be multifaceted & change the course of direction when I please?! I will not let society box me in or define how my life should take up space in this world. • I trust deeply that whatever makes me happy in this now moment, is exactly what I should be doing, & that I shouldn’t worry about anything else because it is being taken care of just by me being alignment. I trust deeply that when I do exactly what makes me happy & makes me feel alive, the Universe responds to me instantly by providing me/showing me the direction & things I need to implement to take me through that next phase of my interests. • In order to see those opportunities the Universe is providing, you have to really believe in what you’re doing has a purpose. Missing this feeling dearly. For the past three years, the last weekend in September has meant the @spartanrace World Championships in Tahoe. #FunFactFriday: Tahoe is probably one of my all-time favorite venues - high-altitude, freezing alpine lake, and all. In 2017 I took a chance and flew out to California by myself just to run this race. I didn’t really know anyone in the sport. All I knew is that I had qualified and I wanted to compete. Little did I know that weekend would change my life, mainly through the people to whom it introduced me. It also lit a fire in me for this sport and this event that still burns bright today. Getting a little mushy this Friday but sometimes it’s fun to look back on those extra special moments in life. ♥️ - @cschweik on Instagram

Oggi è il mio compleanno, l’ultimo che passerai con me. Ma oggi soprattutto è 1 mese che siamo insieme, h24, 7 giorni su 7, nella casa dove abbiamo passato tutta la nostra vita fino a quando 8 anni fa me ne sono andato e ho iniziato a girare l’Italia per lavoro. Ora però i ruoli si sono invertiti e sono io che bado a te, anche se hai solo 55 anni. Ho imparato a farti da mangiare, a vestirti, a metterti le parrucche, i salva slip, gli orari delle tante medicine che prendi e ,di nascosto da papà, a riempirti di gelato. Non riesco ancora a truccarti, ma quello lo fai da te anche se fai tutte le linee storte 🤣. Da 4 anni combatti contro questo male invisibile, per 4 volte sei caduta e ti sei rialzata ricominciando la tua vita con un sorriso sempre piu grande. 50 chemio, 20 radioterapie, 3 interventi. Questa volta però il tumore è maligno, cancro al cervello. Ormai non sappiamo nemmeno quanti ne hai, ma la novità è che non ci interessa più. Stiamo vivendo il periodo più felice e intenso del nostro rapporto, nella casa di sempre, senza uscire da queste mura. Mi hai insegnato a fare le tagliatelle a mano, abbiamo ascoltato per ore e giorni tutta la discografia di Eros Ramazzotti, hai rinfrescato il tuo inglese per parlare con Lin, che come dici sempre ha portato il sorriso nella tua vita. Abbiamo fatto l’inventario di tutte le tue cose per dare un pezzo di te ad ogni persona che è stata importante. In questo mese hai ricevuto più persone del papa ⛪️. Siamo andati a salutare le Dolomiti che hai sempre amato più di tutto nonostante il tuo sangue campano. Qualche giorno fa mi hai chiamato con tutta la forza che avevi, sono corso giù e mi hai detto che stavi per avere una crisi epilettica. Dopo pochi secondi la tua bocca si è storta, gridavi senza poter parlare, il tuo braccio è impazzito ed hai iniziato a ad avere convulsioni come se stessi implodendo. Have you ever wanted to say Thank you and F*ck You at the exact same time? Well, that is how I feel towards 2020. The roller coaster of emotions that pour through me day in and day out are unlike any I have experienced before. One moment I feel inspired, excited, connected and hopeful. Then, in the blink of an eye, I find myself sad, confused, scared and unable to comprehend what is actually happening in the world around me. I teeter-totter between these highs and lows almost daily. Part of me wanting to run away (but where would I go?), part of me feeling the need to stay right where I am, to ride out the storm. Some days I find myself feeling painfully lonely, sad and wishing for things to ‘return to normal’ (whatever that really means). Other days I feel gratitude for the gifts of patience, presence & deep surrender which I continue to grow into more and more as the time passes. Ultimately, I know that everything that is happening is leading toward a much needed, massive shift in the consciousness of myself and this planet. Heart-break is never easy. It sucks when our ‘plans’ change and when we don’t get what we want. I would be lying if I told you that I didn’t feel like I have lost so much this year. Not too long ago, I was gallivanting through Europe, planning my future, in Spain, with a beautiful, kind man by my side. We had hopes and dreams & we gave our love a fair chance. I was a sucker for romance, and I don’t regret it one bit. That relationship came to an end earlier this year (finalized by the separation created by Covid), and I am happy to share that I am on the upswing of healing from that difficult goodbye. I was correct in thinking that this would be a year of exponential growth, yet I had NO idea what this actually meant. I have learned to forgive in ways I did not know was possible. I have learned to soften, to be still, to overcome obstacles. I have learned to TRUST, to listen, and to look at my shadows head on. I have seen parts of myself that I thought were too ugly to look at, and I have learned, slowly, to love these parts that make me who I am. TW: dom. violence I tend to avoid entertainment that amplifies my PTSD. But sometimes I think I’m fine, I’m HEALED even. So I read the book or watch the film & I can’t bring myself to just turn it off because reliving the pain hurts in this morbidly good way that I still think I deserve. This sets off nightmares & flashbacks & I realize, whoops- I’m not quite as ok as I thought I was. When I read @chanelmillerknowmyname’s memoir, I thought I’d be fine. I didn’t realize how her writing would wrap words around past feelings & experiences to form a little shell of TRUTH. Suddenly my murky shapeless memories took form with sharp edges. Reminding me of how it feels to walk with a pebble in your shoe. It doesn’t hurt, but it’s annoying as hell. The pebble makes you change the way you walk & then you feel pain elsewhere, because your foundation has shifted & adapted to that damn pebble & all of its annoyingness. The pebble has been in my shoe for 8 years. I can still feel that sinking pit in the lowest part of my belly sitting on the witness stand & pointing at the person who hurt me. His pale eyes delighted in my discomfort, a half smile playing on his face as if he knew it took all of my self control to keep my hand from shaking. The difference between my story & Chanel’s is that I not only knew the person who violated me, but I also loved him very much. I just didn’t realize that love wasn’t synonymous with fear. All I knew is that even once I was in the safety of an ambulance the night he nearly took my life, the first thought I had was “He’s going to be so mad at me.” My life was secondary to his happiness & it stayed that way long after it was over. Spreading my shame across the courtroom while being questioned by a defense attorney who was determined to paint me as a liar & a drunk felt worse than that night he split my head open on his front porch. Letting strangers of a jury decide he’s not guilty even though my scars suggest otherwise- that’s what nearly killed me. Not his fists, but his words & the words of all the people who denied my truth, or worse- said I deserved it. Sometimes the pebble hurts, even if I don’t know why. And you know what? If you’ve been watching our stories today you already know Chippy is trekking Tatry (polish High Tatra mountains) - and may I add aren’t the views from up there simply breathtaking?! 🙆♀️ So how did we get here? Whilst in Belgium we got a little hooked on watching @isa.paige and later on @kraigadams videos - and watching Chippy watch those videos I could see the longing on his face - to be out there, roughing it, all day in nature, drinking from ice cold streams, breathing the crisp mountain air at sunrise. I said: Why dont you go on a hiking trip, just you? Being the kind person that he is, over the next few days he explored every possible way our family could go trekking together - but entering the tricky phase when Leo is too heavy to carry but far too young to walk the mountains himself, there was just no way for us all to go. Neither could the two us us go leaving Leo with my parents - as a breastfeeding Mom I cannot be away from Leo for more than 3-4 hours. Eventually he divided into the joy of solo travel and feverish preparations commenced. After looking at some European trails I was delighted he chose the polish Tatra mountains, mountains I trekked back in the early nineties. A few days ago, by coincidence, I looked at my ‘50 before 50’ - and guess what I found there? ‘Hiking in the Tatra mountains’- I swear I had totally forgotten about this point on the list and here is Chippy is ticking off this very moment! And you know what? It feels sooo good to follow his journey, Im just as excited as if I was there myself. See the picture above? Thats me in Hala Gasienicowa, exactly where Chippy is sleeping tonight at a schronisko (‘log-cabin shelter’) Look closely at the date on the picture. August 8th 1992. If you told me back then that the love of my life has just been born in Belgium 3 days ago (!) - I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Or that 28 years later this amazing being would be walking this very same trail! ✨I tell you, magic is real, anything and everything is possible! ✨ - @fit_shortie_eats on Instagram

The weather definitely played a part in me getting this shot today. With such clear skies and lots of light it was perfect for this idea. . I used a fast shutter speed to get a series of shots that I was able to stitch together in photoshop. The central part of the shot is straight out of the camera but I wanted to fill the edges with some more scrabble tiles. . This shot feels like the ones I used to take which felt good. Ja ich habe mittlerweile eine Glatze und nein es ist kein Modetrend, Spinnerei oder sonstiges. Es ist gesundheitsbedingt! Ich habe kreisrunden Haarausfall. Es betrifft leider meinen ganzen Kopf. Vor ca zwei Monaten fand ich das erste Loch, mittlerweile sind es so viele ich zähle gar nicht mehr. Ich poste es extra, damit keine weiteren Fragen (manchmal auch echt dumme dabei gewesen) aufkommen oder iwelche falsche Vermutungen. Ich habe lernen müssen ohne Haare zu leben und ich muss sagen, es ist zwar schwer, aber ich fühle mich mittlerweile auch ohne Haare schön! Keine Frau sollte sich hässlich fühlen nur weil ihr Haare fehlen und keiner sollte Frauen verurteilen oder beleidigen nur weil sie keine Haare mehr haben! Ich stehe jetzt dazu, dass gehört jetzt halt zu mir ! Es ist zwar oft sehr schwer, Weil viele Menschen böse reagieren, aber da muss man drüber stehen und sie reden lassen. Once upon a time, during a break up dialogue, my partner at the time said “ I know what it’s like to be loved by you. And now I know what it isn’t.” At the time, it was an overwhelmingly sad statement for both of us, I think. For me, hearing those words felt like a brick thrown at my stomach. I imagine it felt the same to them. But alas, almost a decade later, I remember those words. “I know what it’s like to be loved by you.” Meaning that, it was so great or strong or moving that it wouldn’t or shouldn’t be let go of, or softened lightly. It couldn’t be. I think those words raised the standard for how I needed to be loved, if only after multiple falls, scrapes and bruises in between. If you look in the mirror and can’t say “I know what it’s like to be loved by you.” Ask why. For yourself. My nurse told me today I didn’t have to try to be me..😭 I didn’t need to be happy I didn’t need to get up and dance I needed to let my body be sick. So I am. She reminded me I’m not crazy I’m not a baby and I’m fighting Covid on top of cancer...double whammy 😭😫 In my DMs I’ve had people tell me that Covid isn’t real...and I’m just sick...well then I’m just sick and whatever this is , is rough. Honestly sick is all I could give today Body aches. Head aches. No energy. Weakness. Cough. Mucus. Shortness of breath is all I could do. Tattooing in nature has always been something that felt primal and natural. A few days ago me and my best friends drove out to “atlatl rock” a historic petroglyph sight dated over 4,000 years old. We used the petroglyphs as “flash” and tattooed the cave drawing on each other.
