Mileage day, 7 today relatively easy pace at 7:15 with a half mile of strong hills towards the end. . Physically, I feel pretty good. Only slight pain towards the end of the run, but otherwise I feel pretty strong. Only thing is I’ve started to feel pretty tired during my runs, not sure if it’s mental or lack of sleep or both... either way, gotta keep pushing and getting those miles in. - Longest ride ever! First time riding with a group and while the pace was relatively slow (11.8mph) pretty happy to have hit 25 miles!
About 3.5 years ago, I knew that I wanted to race in the Chicago Triathlon. Even though I dreaded cardio and the open water swim scared me, I had to do it. My wife was immediately onboard and excited. I figured we would just get our feet wet (no pun intended 😜) and just do the shorter distance called the sprint. But she figured we would do the Olympic distance which was twice the length of the sprint! And I thought I was the personal trainer… ;) I don’t think she really knew what she was getting herself into. But I also think that’s one of the main reasons she agreed to do it. Too often we do all the research, find people that give us the answers that we’re looking for, and then fail to take action. Paralysis by analysis. Don’t let your emotions get the best of you. If it sounds fun or if it doesn’t, but you know it’s good for you, go for it. Own your emotions. Recordando mis 3 maratones major. Esta semana anunciaron que las inscripciones para el maratón de Boston edición 2021 se posponen hasta nuevo aviso. Todo parece indicar que mi 4ta estrella de 6 tendrá que esperar un poco. Mientras tanto me quedo con la motivación de maratones anteriores y que algún día volveremos a estar en la línea de salida con los sentimientos a flor de piel. Recuerdo un Berlín en donde las lágrimas me rodaron por la mejilla al caerme el 20 que estaba a punto de correr mis primeros 42 Km. Recuerdo un Chicago en la meta con mis amigos en donde confirmé que había hecho sub 3 y acto seguido me tomé mi tan anhelada cerveza. Recuerdo un NY llegando a la meta en donde mis amigas me gritaban y echaban porras eufóricas. Que por cierto después estuve horas perdida 😂. Claro que se sufre físicamente el entrenamiento y los 42 Km de la carrera, sin embargo no se compara con la gratificación, orgullo y felicidad al cruzar la meta. Maratones nos vemos en un futuro no muy lejano. As many of you know, alcohol is a big part of my life. From working at breweries to running bar programs for the better part of a decade, I am continually encompassed in the wide world of spirits, beer and wine. Dont get me wrong, I love what I do. I truly do. However, as many of you know, and many of you can relate to, the wide world of alcohol can bring its many hardships as well. Bad cycles of drinking, especially with everything going on in the world can affect you physically, your relationships, your overall health and perhaps most importantly, your mental health. And so, just a mere 40 days ago, I pledged to take a break from the devils juice. I write this today because I am the most proud of myself I have ever been. While it hasnt been a clean 40 days of sobriety, I have taken a significant step back and the results have jumped off the board. Today marks, in the last 40 days, 100 miles ran, 275 miles biked, 23 pages written, and 114 days since my last Quarantine Videos. That last thing is something Im very proud of, because of how awfully stupid they were. This isnt a boastful post, this is meant for inspiration. - Talk about an eventful ride. I Got hit head on by someone on another bike and saw a naked lady get arrested by 3 cops. I’m just happy with how far I’ve come in the past 1.5 months. From barely being able to do 5 miles to completing 36 feels good. Hopefully there is a century in the close future.

Between the heat, dealing with severe leg cramps the last 22 miles, and not being able to eat or drink without throwing up I was able to get it done! This is another rewarding part of my job, helping competitors when they decide to start a family! I was so happy @hdeitemyer_fit Choose me to help through her pregnancy. It’s a pleasure to be involved in one of the most important parts of a mothers journey. And because Heather was so fit labor was only a total of 3 hours. When the doctor came in she only pushed 4 times. Her doctor called her abs of steel! She also had incredible endurance to go through labor without tiring. Staying active and healthy as we did really made labor so easy. This is an extremely wonderful thing to be a part of and along someones side for me. Welcome to the world Kallie Faith Deitemyer!
