Whilst the Second Battalion remain deployed on Op TORAL 10 in Afghanistan, those remaining in Thiepval Barracks have been training hard. D Company, formed by an amalgamation of Riflemen who remained behind during the deployment, are getting ready to conduct Live Fire Tactical Training in the coming weeks. This involves the use of live ammunition in a controlled environment and it provides an excellent test of marksmanship and soldiering skills under realistic conditions. Amfibieregementet, kunglig hovleverantör till försvaret av Sveriges kust- och skärgårdsområden. Tisdag 22 september fick Amfibieregementet besök av H.K.H. Prins Carl Philip. Prinsen, som idag är major, gjorde själv sin värnplikt på regementet där han utbildades till Stridsbåtsförare. På bilden ser ni prinsen med ett av Amfibiekårens viktigaste vapensystem, Robot 17. Robot 17 styrs av reflektionen från en laser som belyser målet. Amfibieeldenheterna är den enhet som har till uppgift, att med hjälp av en belysare, belysa det mål som roboten är avsedd för. Något som göras dolt från en annan plats än den där roboten står grupperad. Som en liten prick på den klarblåa himlen syns roboten för en kort stund precis efter avfyrning från en dold grupperingsplats bland klipporna innan den med full kraft sätter fart mot sitt mål. oboten har en mycket god precision och kan verka från land och från fartyg mot andra mål, både på vattnet och på land. 2,300 Armenian troops killed during clashes: Azerbaijan defence ministry Over 2,300 Armenian servicemen were killed and wounded in the continuing clashes in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijani defence ministry claimed on Wednesday. From September 27 and up to this morning, around 2,300 enemy fighters were eliminated and wounded; around 130 tanks and other armoured vehicles, over 200 artillery, missile and mortar launchers, around 25 air defense weapons; six command and control and observation posts; five ammunition depots; around 50 armour-defeating weapons, and 55 automobiles were eliminated and brought out of action, the Defence Ministry told Sputnik. On Sunday morning, an escalation unfolded along the contact line of Nagorno-Karabakh, an Armenian-majority autonomy that proclaimed independence from what then was the Soviet Azerbaijan Republic in 1991. Azerbaijan launched what it described as a counteroffensive, while the Artsakh authorities accused Azerbaijani forces of opening fire against civilians and civilian infrastructure in its capital of Stepanakert. Can snipers produce information that can be useful to commanders on the battlefield? If a sniper team was to conduct a reconnaissance mission, that team would require the knowledge and resources to be able to accurately conduct the collection of information on their assigned area. Be able to compile that information and report it in a useable, useful and timely manner. What training is being done to meet that standard?
