. - International Youth Day - . Does education and strict regulations kill creativity and dreams? Well, that might be a bit harsh but I do think that the global system scares children from thinking free and creating their own ideas and concepts. For example, if you educate children that there is a God, a heaven and a hell...I doubt that the kids will start to speculate regarding evolution and philosophy. Wouldn’t it be more fair to say that “many people believe in a God, but some don’t and it’s up to you to decide what you believe?”. People often asks me if my parents were supporting or even pushing me to become an explorer. My parents never taught me how to fly but they never cut my wings. When I was telling them that I would, totally inexperienced, kayak for six months from Stockholm to Africa, they didn’t tell me not to do it. They just told me to be careful and bring a life jacket?! Never have they tried to stop me from climbing Mt Everest, crossing Antarctica or hike across Serengeti. I believe that we are underestimating children. They are much stronger and creative than we think. I have been Ambassador for an organization called Mentor for many years and at a charity dinner, children had written small notes on our plates about what they want to be in life? I had a response on my plate from an 8 year old boy who wrote; “I don’t understand the question; am I not something now? I am child?!” Let the children stay creative and be open to different philosophies, jobs, sexuality, religions, dreams and ideas - no matter how crazy they may seem. The most successful characters in history were once seen as crazy. It is the first school for indigenous children and the revitalization of Nawat (our indigenous language). It is run by 13 of my elders who are determined to preserve our language, culture and ways of life to the next 7 generations. Day 65 #CoronaCronicles // We have been on lockdown now for a solid 2 months, while things for the most part are better than good. We are unable to leave the area and no one is allowed to enter. In the last few days they have been trying to test everyone in the area, they have a Rapid Test with your blood and they are able to see if your positive or negative, not everyone showed up, but a good number considering there are not many people around here... Good News was all the tests came back negative. So we know our zone seems to be safe... I think they will keep the strict no domestic travel ban til Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr is over. One of the greatest conservation tools in the @zambezedeltaconservation is the meat distribution plan. Every now and again I get the odd comment saying: you and Tim are the WORST couple / your relationship is so TOXIC / you guys are SO BAD for each other / you two will NEVER LAST / you guys FIGHT TOO MUCH. 🙊 Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but they kinda missed the point to our show. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ The whole reason why @timnoonantv and I made #ExtremeEngagement was to help dispel the myth that relationships and marriage are supposed to be ‘perfect’ - that is, 100% wonderful, fantastic, peaceful, loving, without any angst, fighting, hurt or heartache ALL the time. THEY ARE NOT! We are peddled this myth from childhood. Thanks to Disney fairytales and other stories, some prince on a horse will ride in and rescue his princess to live ‘happily ever after’. (I don’t care if these are the classics, they have GOT TO GO!) 🤬 Then Hollywood fills the gaps, perpetuating this fallacy that one day we’ll magically find the ‘perfect person’ and our lives will be ‘complete’. (NOOOOO)😱 And now there’s social media. Great on so many levels, but utterly fake in presenting a real image of what a partnership is like. The obsession with #COUPLEGOALS is so 🤯 Tim and I do not have the ‘perfect’ relationship and we happily stand by it. We have both promised to OWN, UNPACK, and WORK on our own sh*t when it challenges us or the relationship, no matter what that is. We even made a show about it - warts and all - and swallowed our pride and privacy to share our extreme HIGHS and LOWS over a 14 month period with the world. It’s impossible to have only the good and not bad. Only positive and no negative. Be real. No one is perfect. So is it reasonable to expect our relationships to be? Dived into the ocean as the sun came up. Climbed a mountain. Spent time with my dad jumping off a waterfall. Photographed a beautiful family. Then ended the day taking a lovely soul swimming with the turtles for her first time. A mix of work, family and me time - but all was joy. Loved it all. I made a decision when I woke today that I would do what I love. Challenge myself and take steps each day to conquer my fears internally (emotionally/mentally) and physically. Spend time with the ones I love. Smell the air. Treat the day as if it was one of my last. I’ve been listening to so many youtube speakers @tonyrobbins ; @melrobbins ; @oprah (Sunday soul sessions). Do let me know if you want me to inbox you links to my faves. It was words from Tony Robbins that changed my thoughts when I woke. He shares that our lives are controlled by one force = our decisions. The decisions we make control us much more then the conditions we meet. If you look back at your life 10years ago and a decision made. If you made a different decision you would have a completely different life now. Either better or worse but completely different. The most important decision you can make above any on earth is that no matter what happens you will not suffer and you are going to live in a beautiful state. If suffering arises. You end it by focusing on something you wish to serve better then yourself - Life! your mission! Family. Not sure if this makes any sense. But listening to these inspirational speakers has really helped me recently so wanted to share. If anyone else had any good YouTube channels or podcasts please share ? This weekend I attended my first freediving competition - the Azul Freediving Challenge respectively its replacement event the Yum Kin Mini Comp. Ive never had any intentions to participate in a competition as competing with others is just not in my nature. But reflecting this weekend I am extremely glad that I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and gave it a try anyway. Performance-wise I did: ✔️ a very comfortable & succesful 41 meter dive in training (white card). ✔️ a comfortable & succesful 45 meter dive on the first day of competition (white card). ✖️ On the second day I intended to reconfirm my PB (personal best) of 51m, but sadly without success (yellow card); from the first warm-up dive various things just felt off or different than the day before - the wetsuit felt more constricting, the water temperature difference felt greater, my neck felt tenser, my throat felt dry, my stomach felt weird, my mind just not at ease and not able to reset & focus. The cause? Maybe the bad nights sleep, maybe the breakfast I had about 3 1/2 hours before, maybe the flavored electrolyte drink I had about 2 hours before or maybe the combination of it all. The effect? I could not make proper use of my mouth-fill, as a consequence was not able to equalize anymore at a depth of 48 meters and hence was forced to turn around (early turn). 😒 It would be a lie to say that I wasnt disappointed - even a bit frustrated as I am pretty sure I would have nailed the same dive the day before. 🤩 From the start the event was bursting with good vibes, positive energy, kindness and great sympathy - a balm for the soul after all this pandemic measures. Over the course of the weekend Ive had the chance & joy to meet and talk to so many lovely & interesting fellow freedivers, for which I am truly grateful of. 🙌🏼 Did the spark for competing ignite? No! Do I want to meet these and more awesome freedivers again? Was für eine unglaubliche Reise. Was für unglaubliche Menschen. Was für ein riesen Verständnis und eine Akzeptanz allen verschiedenen Charakteren gegenüber, was für eine positive Energie, was für eine heiße Zeit voll mit Schweiß, Anstrengung, Tränen, Freude, eine Menge Spaß, intensiven tiefen Gesprächen, Ehrlichkeit, Verletzlichkeit, Weichheit und Liebe. 3 Wochen die meine Perspektive auf das Leben und das Zusammenleben mit Menschen total verändert haben. Meine geglaubten Bedürfnisse in Bezug auf soziale Interaktion völlig verändert haben. Ich habe es noch nie so genossen Zeit in einer so großen Gruppe zu verbringen und das bis zu 14 Stunden pro Tag. Zuvor hätten mich diese Situationen völlig ausgesaugt und energetisch leer gemacht. Hier durfte ich erfahren, daß mir die Diversität an Menschen in so einer Konzentration auch Energie geben kann. Eine völlig neue Erfahrung, die mich offener gemacht hat. Mir mein Ego gezeigt und geholfen hat es besser zu verstehen. Meine Intention für den Kurs war einfach nur mehr über Yoga, die Praxis und die Theorie zu lernen. Ich hatte nicht vor zu unterrichten. Doch nachdem ich nun meine erste Unterrichtsstunde kreiert und durchgeführt und gespürt habe wie schön es sich anfühlt Menschen dabei zu helfen sich selbst näher zu kommen denke ich anders darüber und werde doch beginnen. Dafür werde ich eine neue Form kreieren. Ich weiß nun, daß es genau die Dinge sind im Leben die von Relevanz sind. Die reiner intrinsischen Motivation entspringen, bei denen es keiner großen Anstrengung oder Aufopferung bedarf. Bei denen allein das Gefühl stimmt. Es rational nicht weiter erklärbar ist. Ich danke allen Menschen denen ich bisher in meinem Leben begegnen durfte, dafür dass sie mein Leben positiv wie auch negativ beeinflusst haben. Ohne diese beiden Einflüsse wäre ich jetzt nicht hier. Prodivers hosted the annual Clean Up the World event on 19 and 20 September 2020 on 3 Islands in the Maldives. This year a little different due to COVID 19 with social distancing but double the fun. Prodivers has been participating in an annual beach clean up for several years already and this year again with shocking results. In Kuredu together with Kuredu Island Resort and Spa about 60 volunteers helped clean Kuredu islands beach and collected an astounding 150kg of rubbish. (+-60 bags) The rubbish consisted mainly of plastic bottles, fishing lines and small bits and pieces. In Komandoo Island Resort 5 Prodivers staff cleaned the beach and reef around Komandoo and found a few bags of rubbish consisting mainly of fishing line. About 20 staff on Hurawalhi Maldives cleaned their surrounding beach and shallow water and collected 10 bags of marine debris. - @prodiversmaldives on Instagram

Такие наборы мы подарили для семей в Варкале, нуждающихся в помощи и поддержке в это непростое время. ☘️Иногда наши самые незначительные поступки смогут иметь далеко идущие последствия. Это может быть улыбка, подаренная незнакомцу, милость оказанная другу, доброта, проявленная к людям. Это сродни истории о человеке, который собирает морские звёзды, выброшенные волнами на берег. Он знает, что спасти всех ему не под силу, но продолжает свою работу, потому что меняет к лучшему жизни тех немногих, которых можно спасти. ☘️Мы тоже можем благотворно влиять на жизни людей. Сегодня я наблюдала радостные улыбки на лицах людей, слышала благодарности✨. Отправляясь в деревню я была немного уставшей, но увидев счастливые лица, улыбки стариков, женщин и детей мое сердце и душа наполнялись умиротворением и энергией. Засыпая, я вспоминала их радостные лица. We congratulate the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture on the formulation of the new Grouper Fishery Management Plan. While we welcome many of the revisions such as the ban on destructive fishing gear, there is an urgent need to include additional conservation measures to safeguard the already overfished wild grouper population for the benefit of our reefs, fishermen and businesses who rely on them. 👇 1. IMMEDIATE implementation of a quota system. Quotas should be introduced as soon as possible and adjusted according to data assessed and stock condition. 🐟 2. Permanent closure of minimum one spawning aggregation site FROM EACH ATOLL (rotational protection of just five sites across the country is not enough to ensure population replenishment. Aggregation sites on every atoll need to be identified urgently and protection implemented) 🐟 3. Protection of GIANT GROUPER (Epinephelus lanceolatus/ muda faana) which are rare in the Maldives and the largest bony fish found on coral reefs. 🐟 4. Revision of the MINIMUM SIZES so that they are easily enforceable, and trade is controlled at biologically sustainable levels * 60cm (2 feet) for Epinephelus fuscoguttatus * 40cm (1.3 feet) for larger Epinephelus sp., all Plectromopus sp. and all Variola sp. * 30 cm (1 feet) for smaller Epinephelus sp., and all Cephalapholus sp., Aethaloperca sp. and Anyperodon sp. 🐟 5. Establish clear operational, regulatory and administrative distinctions between hatchery-based aquaculture and wild capture fisheries, and specifically recognize that undersize fish cannot be taken for the purpose of grow-out. 🐟 6. The Adoption of a more PARTICIPATORY approach to fisheries management by: * Facilitating a greater representation of civil society and tourism sector in the Advisory Committee * Forming partnerships with other organizations to conduct research and management activities 🐟 7.
