Hey fam, We just wanted to update you on the upcoming ‘Big Grief’ tour. Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place nationwide and border closures, we have had to make some tough decisions. Our Queensland shows will still go ahead, however they will now be more intimate shows due to capacity restrictions. Tickets purchased for the shows on the 29th October at The Tivoli and 30th October at Sol Bar will be valid for these new shows. Keep an eye on your email inboxes. Ticketing outlets will be in touch very soon with further information. If you hadn’t gotten a ticket for the Tivoli yet, we have added an additional show on Friday 23rd October. The link to which is in our bio. If you are an existing Tivoli ticket holder and aren’t able to attend any of the new dates, refunds will be available until Thursday 24 September. As for the rest of the country, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that we must cancel all interstate shows. Please get in touch with your point of purchase for a full refund. We are so saddened that we can’t bring the Big Grief tour to you. We wanted nothing more than to be back on stage, yelling and crying with you all. Bueno la NASA me ayudó un poco...y llegaron a la conclusión que: Las plantas durante el día hacen el proceso de fotosíntesis asimilando el CO2 y liberando oxígeno, mientras que en la noche (como no hay sol) absorben el oxígeno y liberan CO2, PERO, este oxígeno que toman y ese dióxido de carbono que liberan es mínimo en comparación a lo anterior. Por ende, no es perjudicial para la salud ni mucho menos! Las plantas nos dan más de lo que nos damos cuenta! Y tenemos que empezar a ser conscientes de ello. Its been exactly one week 🙀 since 𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩 was planted in the IG world and I am in awe of how much support this has received in such a short of time. When I got home that day, I found out that its also commonly known as a Kris plant (my names Krissy!) and it originates from the Philippines (so do I!). We both also thrive in temperatures between 70-85 degrees. Ha, never thought Id introduce myself this way but here I am. 🌿 I adore this plant so much -- I got it tattooed! 🌿 I spent most of my adolescence on the tropical island of Guam. 🏝🌺 🌿 Im an artist to the core. Ive been hinged to a camera since I was 5, double-majored in Graphic Design & Fine Arts, & has operated under an art alias for the last 11 years -- completely immersed in everything from jewelry & 3D design, acrylic/oil/digital painting & illustrations, branding, fashion/lifestyle photography, you name it. If Im not creating something, Im searching for the next thing to create. 🌿 Much of my professional career, however, is less visual & involves helping people achieve their highest potential in their own careers and in life in general - and ensuring that their experience is one that is most positive & meaningful to them. Do you ever find your monstera doesn’t care what day it is and ALWAYS wants to be in the picture? 🌱 This beautiful cutting from @thejungleupstairs (Ciara) that I’m trying to root in LECA may be front and center, but today I want to shine the “spotlight” on these grow lights! The wonderful people at @sansi_light sent me this amazing 15W grow light and my plants are THRIVING under it. Swipe ⬅️ to hear my not-so-handy hanging skills that I’m sure Ciara would laugh at me about, and how rearranging plants is actually soothing. 🌱 When I talked about grow lights in a previous post one of the things I mentioned was the distance between the light and plant. You will notice in the last picture my need to want everything to look symmetrical was not in the plant’s best interest, so I lowered it. Now it’s about 10-12 inches away which is about where you want it, though if I lowered it a little more it would be fine. 🌱 The days are starting to get shorter, so now is the prefect time to invest in a grow light for all your plants! 3 weeks of pain. 3 weeks of using assistive devices instead of wearing my leg. 3 weeks of not being me. Typically I put my leg on first thing in the morning. I immediately head out to my garden. I walk my dog about a mile around our neighborhood. Then I start work for the day. I usually try to fit in a short bike ride or run at some point in my day as well! It hurts to walk around my house. I cant walk my dog when Im using an assistive device. It is difficult going out to my garden on the uneven terrain. It takes a toll on the soul not being able to do what makes you YOU. When people ask me if it gets easier with time being an Amputee it definitely does! But I warn them there are still bad days or weeks. There are setbacks. Not to be negative or scare them, but there is this notion that all Amputees are these crazy athletic bionic creatures. We become robotic and indestructible, but it isnt true. We expend 25-45% more energy just walking alongside you. We have sore days. We are human. Dont feel defeated by your setbacks. If you haven’t heard yet, our house has become an indoor jungle. I grew up with plants all around me, just ask anyone who’s been to my mommas house. She inherited her green thumb from my grandfather, before the age of apps that tell us what plants are called and fancy names that can leave someone feeling disconnected. She loves her cacti and the light that comes from a little bit of growth. Her plants have served some sort of connection to the past, to her family, and to the little Mexican ranchito she was forced to leave behind at the age of twelve. There’s nothing complicated about that. & I’m learning to cherish the beauty of growth & the beauty in repotting when things aren’t going the way you want them to. If you’d like, feel free to have a straight-backed chair handy or be nearby a couch or wall as you set up your yoga mats. . During our gentle restorative practice tonight, we will continue to release stress, tension and anything that’s been held in our bodies and nerves as we continue to boost our immune system, strengthen our nervous system, expand our capacity and ability to stay grounded, centered, and relaxed. . Sitting cross legged, even though it’s generally called Easy Pose, is not necessarily easily for everyone. So please feel free to sit on a chair to do the seated practices. . Also, free to have yoga props or cushions, pillows and rolled bath or beach towels handy to help you to relax more especially in poses when we’re laying down.  . If you have essential oils, grab a tissue and your favorite oils, too. . All classes are and will continue to be donation-based so please feel free to contribute whatever amount you’d like or nothing at all. Been living for the details lately. The minute particulars that color my moments in this seemingly overwhelming vacuum we’ve all become accustomed to. Some days I’m so full of gratitude, motivation, and joy. Other days I find myself in a constant struggle to text my friends back and lean into all of the ceremony that I know makes me feel purpose. My Worldly daughter has lived in Africa, Paris (where she received her 2nd Masters Degree) and backpacked all alone for 4 months in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. She has landed back in the USA (Thank You Jesus) and has her very own flat in NYC with wonderful views of the Hudson in the midst of the Concrete Jungle. She asked me to decorate her new digs and sent me the inspiration photo from @theresenybu. I couldn’t wait to start gathering items she would want for her new place. I search every Antique shop, estate sale within 100 miles of me. She LOVES reading and has so many books that needed to be incorporated into her decor along with plants. Living in NYC with a tiny pup it was important to have lots of greenery. The painting above her bed is from Cambodia, the sofa and chair are antique pieces she fell in love with, the wooden chest is from the 1800’s is filled with treasures she has collected along the way.
