woke up this morning realizing that this past week I got burnt out from moving too fast. trying to beat time and get everything done all in one day and not enjoying it. so I took about 2 days, did absolutely nothing to figure myself out. I naturally started to take things slowly. I started to wake up and enjoy slow mornings, I switched to doing more yoga, pilates -slow controlled movements. My view on life has changed too. the more time that I put into myself the more I realize that the little teeny tiny things matter in life. | 01102020 🎂 Il y a cinq ans aujourd’hui, « Quelqu’un De », cette expression culte de famille dite et redite à toutes les sauces par la plus formidable grand mère qu’il eut été possible d’avoir, devenait officiellement une petite entreprise : la mienne .. Avec envie et curiosité, créativité et timidité sans trop d’assurance mais avec confiance, peu de technique mais la soif d’apprendre, un peu de culot et le cœur très souvent gros, je me suis lancée.. En laissant parler ceux qui veulent toujours trop en dire et n’écoutant seulement les paroles de ceux qui comptent véritablement. 5 ans aujourd’hui, c’est comme une émotion que je n’avais pas vu arriver, là en plein vol, en pleine période de rush - C’est cette claque de regarder timidement derrière et de voir tous ces chemins biscornus en contre bas, qui partent parfois dans tous les sens mais qui finissent toujours par mener exactement au bon endroit. Il y a eu les étapes pro bien sûr et puis les perso surtout. Ces étapes qui vous font grandir et avancer en ajustant les angles grâce à ce que la vie a de meilleur à vous offrir et puis à cause de ce qu’elle vous reprend aussi, « la garce » (si vous aviez envie d’une deuxième expression) Aujourd’hui, pour ces cinq ans, j’ai laissé un petit mot à mon amoureux de mari qui allait se lever tôt, amené mes enfants à l’école et je vais courir toute la journée, une journée encore bien trop longue mais remplie de ces choix faits qui ont donné du sens à mon quotidien et qui font qui je suis aujourd’hui, racontant toutes ces merveilleuses histoires de la vie.. Aujourd’hui, je pense à ces personnes que je rencontre et qui comptent chaque jour un peu plus et puis à celles et ceux qui étaient là il y a 5 ans, avec la même intensité et y croyant souvent plus fort que moi. Mes pilliers qui se reconnaîtront et les deux là haut qui, je le sais, me guident et me poussent à me dépasser et à y croire toujours un peu plus.. Quand j’étais petite, j’ai voulu faire trois métiers : actrice, psy et journaliste ! Some say there’s a fine line between loneliness and solitude. I have been in both places and I explore this in my poem, ‘The bridge in between’. Loneliness is an emotion or an experience that’s unlike anything else. It’s that sinking feeling of being unseen, unheard and not understood. It’s like being a part of the crowd and the buzz yet feeling this pit in your stomach that makes you wonder, ‘how many people really know me?’ Or ‘how many people can really see through me?’ Or ‘Is my presence merely an energy in the room or does it mean more?’ Loneliness is an inevitable part of me that never escaped as I moved through different stages in my life. Loneliness is not emptiness. Emptiness is where emotions feel crowded over one another and you simply can’t pick up on how you feel. So, you feel absolutely nothing. Loneliness is beyond that. It’s when you can have so many connections in life yet feel disconnected from the world. It’s going through people and trying to understand them but never feeling understood in return. Loneliness is a friend you’ll fight with but they are the only ones that understand anything. I don’t necessarily think loneliness has anything to do with how you feel about yourself or your spirituality. It’s that profound feeling of alienation that make you feel like you don’t belong. And almost as if your place in the world is perhaps outside it. There’s so much loneliness in not feeling understood. Most people wouldn’t necessarily think it matters that much. But when you have so many facets within you, deep thoughts that want to find a home, you begin to feel the loneliness that comes about it. Loneliness becomes solitude and vice versa all the time. And in that blanket of loneliness, I write. Like the world is standstill around me and it’s me and the words that flow about the paradigms that I have built inside my head. Loneliness is perhaps unpleasant for most but I have learned to accept it. I have learned to make it a home. Not in a negative sense but in the way of it truly understanding me and in the way of it making a sense of the world around me and in the way of how I connect to Supreme Power. Cora woke me up at 3 am because she was scared. The wind and rain sounded like a whistling tea kettle mixed with ocean waves crashing. I had just enough time before our power went out to check the radar. The eye of the hurricane was closer than predicted. After I got her back to sleep, I made the mistake of looking out my window. I’ve never seen trees bend back and forth so quickly. I also saw one of our small sheds on the verge of falling apart. I crawled back into bed, heart pounding and all. There was no way I could sleep with everything going on. . Anxiety. We just watched a webinar on stress anxiety and it was defined as “an unhealthy response to life’s uncertainty.” Every time I felt a tightening in my chest, I knew I had to bring it to God or else it might turn to a full blown panic attack. And so I did. My Bible was on the other side of the house so I made my way to my daughter’s room to get hers, and with my cell phone flash light I read verse after verse after verse. And then I prayed those verses all throughout the night. And guess what? I traded my panic for His peace. . “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Phil. 4:6) . “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3) . These aren’t just words on a page. These aren’t unattainable realities. These are living and active truths that supply all we need for when we need it. God knows we wrestle with anxiety and He gives us a way out by trusting in Him and receiving His peace. . We woke up to branches scattered everywhere, a few broken windows, missing fencing and roofs, and some of our belongings scattered all the way across the neighborhood. We don’t have power or cell service (but our generator gives us power for WiFi so we are using it to update our friends and family.) The bottom line is we are physically safe and God has shown me once more that He is who He says He is. I couldn’t be more grateful. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. . #hurricanesally - @aholypursuit on Instagram
